I was thinking of today's debate and the "transparency" theme...

How about putting a 24-hr live streaming video from the Oval Office?
This might win over a heck of a lot of people - especially the typical voter who cares less about policy than what's on TV. Why NOT a real life West Wing on a slight delay to cut out any national security issues, of course ;-p

Oh boy. Let's watch Dr. Paul eat and pick his nose.

J/k - I watch the NASA channel, and a good portion of it is just watching people work. I'd watch the "Oval Office Channel."

That would be awesome.

Yeah that would be cool, but it would need to be like a full day delay or more probably. It would be cool to get to watch what actually goes on everyday in the white house.

AND.....

Ron Paul would be a celebrity too then lol!

I'll bring it up with Rand this weekend.
It's a gimmick for sure, but not only helpful and harmonious with the message, but also appealing to many voters I would assume.

... but how would presidents plan which country would be next up for "liberation?"

Why not live? Obviously certain things couldn't be shown, but I don't see any problem with several hours of live broadcast from the Oval Office per week. That would be a level of transparency never before seen in government, and would go a long way toward restoring the public trust.

If Clinton had done it, it would have to have been broadcast on Showtime...or the Spice Channel.

I think the theme of a more transparency in gov't would be a good talking point for Paul. He did vote in favor of this:

I wonder what further steps he'd take. Personally I think they need to bring back those Nixon style secret recordings :)

Personally I don't need to watch Ron Paul doing paperwork and cleaning his glasses all day. Let the man have his privacy.

The cameras in the House that they have now, however, are worth having.
