Creating nmForRonPaul.com forum

New Mexico has some passionate Dr. Paul supporters but I couldn't find a specific discussion forum for locals. So, I'm trying my hand at creating a new forum site. It's using a Beta version of PhpBB but seems to be pretty stable.

As of posting this message it's only about 15 minutes old and needs a LOT of work with images, topic organization, content (obviously), etc. I'm not even sure all the permissions, registration, siggys, avatars, n' stuff work right, but I'll do what I can to fix anything that I can.

as for your forum, i like that it's simple. I've found that some of the people who are not web savvy have found too many categories overwhelming.

the design, i kind of like, but it is somewhat hard to look at. i'd be interested to hear what others think.

I can't say I like the multi-colored text on a black background. My relatively young eyes can handle it okay, but it is much harder to read than a light background with dark text.

Thanks for all the feedback folks. I may change up the "theme" depending on opinion. Just testing the waters with a different "look" than the default phpBB for now. Need to build content and member-posts more than anything right now. If the drastic colors keep people from hanging out, I'll definitely change it.

Personally, sitting at a computer monitor for most of my waking life, my eyes hurt less with a dark background, but I definitely hear the consensus on the mix of bright colored text. It's half a day old, so plenty of changes are pending.

it looks like you made the yellow text a bit of a darker gold, if I remember correctly. i think it looks better this time i look at it.
