imagine the publicity we would generate and the kids we would reach? imagine if weezy or some other prominent Rapper endorsed RP and did a concert with proceeds going to the campaign....pretty sweet pipe-dream ehh

It would be insanely awesome to get one of these "viral" sort of Rap songs that seem to sweep through pop radio these days to feature the good Dr. At LEAST a name drop would cause thousands if not millions of people to google Ron Paul....

It's a total pipe dream but a cool one at that.... now let's go fund that High Times ad!

I have always said Eminem. Simply because some of his songs are very anti-Bush and very political. From songs like Mosh, We as americans, Immortal Technique (with Mos Def) and White America. I would love for a group of us to send emails, letters or phone calls to people like this and see if we can't get them on board. I know Mos Def was seen with a Obama shirt back in August, but a lot of things have changed since then. I would love to get Eminem on board.....

What a dumb idea. What good would it do? Getting an endorsement from a rapper? Come on. Do something more useful than worthlessly speculating or proposing endorsements. Remember the Chuck Norris threads?

Check out Chamillionare... he was recently on CNN talking about Imus and Katrina.

He has a song called "this is your evening news" on the album "ultimate victory"

It says in the song that "some say that 9/11 was a timed attack"

Very good song... they played it on CNN when he was on when they interviewed him.. he spoke very very intelligently..

Here is the songs lyrics

[CHORUS]
Gas prices raises, the money keeps burning,
Dropout rate rising, so what are they learning?,
Sending the troops in the war so I turn in,
To today's evening news.

[VERSE 1]
Welcome to the evening news, I thank you all for tuning in,
Yes, I'm your host and your journalist, here Chamillionaire, so let the news begin,
Our helicopters out in the streets look at the screen, an' let's zoom it in,
'cause Cashis is live at the scene, hey Cashis how are you my friend?,
Got no time for no interviews (go-got no time for no interviews),
No time to trip we don't get confused, cause this type of news opinion and views
Got no time for no interviews (go-got no time for no interviews),
You know I keep my ear to the streets so it's up to me to bring you the truth,
I saw a movie where George Bush had a bearded man on his squad,
So much power from oil money that poor folks can't sit by him,
No problem, Osama, Bin Laden, Been hidin', So long that them pictures all starting to look like him on them milk cartons,
Don Imus made comments that made everybody forget about him,
That's him, Anna Nicole got pregant and had kids by him,
Rest in peace Virgina Tech, too many innocent kids dyin',
Well let's just blame hip-hop and act like that's the big problem,

[HOOK]
Now I would give you news about Katrina, but you know I can't talk about Katrina,
'Cause everytime I talk about Katrina, they look at me like it's a misdemeanor,
Anyways, there's way more important stuff that we can discuss,
George Bush is playing golf, everybody hush, he's about to putt.

[CHORUS]
Gas prices raises, the money keeps burning,
Dropout rate rising, so what are they learning?,
Sending the troops in the war so I turn in,
To today's evening news.
And the world keeps turning slow (turning slow, turning slow)
As the world keeps turning slow (turning slow, turning slow)
As the world keeps on turning slow (turning slow, turning slow)
This is your evening news.

[VERSE 2]
I know you take offense to certain words, I've heard worse, but I wouldn't blame ya',
They say he's a entertainer, don't worry about it, nevermind Kramer,
The Crocodile Hunter got stung, and the lion turned on the lion tamer,
We keep sending troops to Iraq, I figured that we must like danger,
Little kids don't learn in school they go to school to go spray a gun,
If you a parent, then be a parent, get off the couch and go raise your son,
Kobe just broke another record, today's game he hit 81,
[Evening News lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

Now they saying he's number 1, but yesterday they all hated him,
OJ was named innocent, he got no sentence, he's still alive,
It's very ironic that the lawyer that defended him had to die,
Well, now my cue card says the price of gas isn't really high,
But I'm not going to read that, 'cause we all know that that's a lie.

[VERSE 3]
We still haven't found Pac's killer, still haven't found Biggie's either,
30 minutes into the case they got tired and took a breather,
Snoop Dogg just got arrested, everyday he get a new subpoena,
Innocent when murder was the case so the prosecution got a middle finger,
Hip-Hop is sweeping the nation, but the contents seem so degrading,
Most rappers got new albums that white kids are anticipating,
If you don't like it on the radio or the television then switch the station,
Flavor Flav get a lot of ratings, Bill O'Reilly somewhere is hating,
Kanye just said WHAT? the president ain't got time for that,
The White House is going to stay white even tho' we know Obama's black,
9/11 was a calculation, and some would say it was a timed attack,
He gave a speech on CNN, "They bombed us, now we're bombing back",
Where the heck is Osama at?

[HOOK]
And I would love to talk about Katrina, but everytime I talk about Katrina, they look at me like it's a misdemeanor
Anyways, there's way more important stuff that we can discuss
N'Sync, Makin da band and Milli Vanilli had broken up,

Well, my turn for my 2 cents.

I think this would be a great idea to reach a demographic like that. Trust me, one major endorsement and it spreads like wildfire.

I guess I can say I have "connections" in the urban music industry. I do graphics/myspace layouts/etc for certain artists and people. I work for a publicist who has huge connections to pretty much everyone in the industry. If I can get some contact...I can give it a shot!

I'll go write to one right now lol :D

'vote or die' has never gernerated real votes, because these are shitty people, pushing shitty lifestyles on kids..and so those kids now have shit for brains, and are too high to wake up and get their lazy asses to the polls.

Oh, I wouldnt be so sure... there are many many kids that listened to rap in their younger years, and grew up into professionals and still listen. My wife and I are one of these people. And I assume there are many many more.

Plus there are rappers that do not push that life style. Chamillionaire is a perfect example. He does not use the N word or curse in his music. You should listen to him..

This is a good song by eminem, even shows the constitution being ripped in half.... I think eminem would love Ron Paul simply because he is always scrutinized for his music and the government ignoring his right to freedom of speech.....

another good for called We as Americans. This song talks about right to bare arms....

Also here is one with Mos Def..... He is very vocal on his political views....

My district is mostly African Americans, both rural and urban.

We need only 1,000 votes to win 3 delegates to the national convention. ONLY 1,000 VOTES FOR 3 WHOLE DELEGATES.

So I hope to print up about 1,000 dvds with some Ron Paul hip hop and pass them out in the projects. This would be a great help.

Like i've said before

we should convert JAY-Z. He is arguably the most marketable and most successful rapper/entertainer in the business now. He is a legend of business, entrepreneurship and music. There's no doubt in my mind that Jay Z likes free market economics (its how he got rich!) and he would definitely champion constitutional rights.
After all, look at the life story he presents through his music: Ducking the Cops because the government stepped on the constitution to make his product (coke) illegal. Ducking the cops because the government stepped on the constitution to make one of his past times (smoking weed) illegal. Fighting back against media watchdogs that want to step all over the constitution to censure his music.

Votes are votes man. I actually wrote YoungMoneyEnt.com about this weeks ago! Because Lil Wayne did the "Georgia Bush" track on YouTube.

Anyways, it definitely couldn't hurt. Besides He does so many mix tapes. The Carter III leaked on the Internet and he said we can keep it, he's just going to make 12 new tracks for the Universal Album. He has put out at least 10 CD's for free on the Internet, and right now might be looking for a track that could catapult him beyond superstar status.

He has not officially endorsed Ron Paul yet. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9vh8GxCWa8 titled "HIP HOP HAS NOT SUPPORT RON PAUL WE have not decided yet .."

But we could help him with his decision :) He may be influential in the hip hop world

...i highly doubt a rapper would endorse paul though they should.

and these dream endorsement threads need to stop, its something these people need to come to on their own. just naming someone and sayin 'hey they should endorse us!' is kinda pointless considering we know nothing of their beliefs or political interest.

smh, you must not listen to rap.

rappers are the ultimate republicans if you listen to the music. of course there are variations in the genre, but i'm referring to the typical rap that mainstream america is referring to usually...

get money, and bust your guns to keep that money. "if you don't hustle hard, you ain't shit. hold your own" thats the motto. does that sound like a socialist ideal to you?

"im feelin' like a black republican. money, i got it comin' in..."

It wouldn't help with the musician vote either.. fancy that.. Most real musicians hate rap and its ripoff with a passion surpassing most other disgruntlements. When is there sorry ass gonna learn how to use three simple chords. And while they are at it tie the shoes, pull the drawers up, get some clothes to fit and learn to speak credible english.

Rap.. the dirty jackrag of american bacterial culture.

It would blow up all over the Internet, and be 100% ignored by MSM, which would be perfect. Trust me, you never heard MSM talk about the "Georgia Bush" track.
