The White House aide who led the planning for President Donald Trump's meeting last week with North Korea's Kim Jong Un has decided to leave the Trump administration to return to the private sector.Joe Hagin, the White House deputy chief of staff for operations, has served in every Republican White House since the Reagan administration. He held the same title in George W. Bush's White House.

Hagin was recruited to the Trump White House by former chief of staff Reince Priebus to bring a seasoned hand to a West Wing that had few experienced veterans. He had planned on staying only six months to a year, and considered leaving in the spring, but delayed due to planning for the Singapore summit.
Trump, in a statement, said Hagin has been a "huge asset to my administration," and credited him with planning his Asia trip last year — the longest foreign trip by a U.S. president in a half-century.
Chief of Staff John Kelly praised Hagin's work, saying his "selfless devotion to this nation and the institution of the Presidency is unsurpassed."
Hagin was considered for the No. 2 posts at the Central Intelligence Agency or the Department of Homeland Security, but he decided to leave government service.
Hagin's portfolio includes oversight of the scheduling and advance staffs, as well as the military office — including the replacement projects for Air Force One and Marine One.
His last day will be July 6.

Fired for being a Regan Conservative

Why would you say that?

A bad guess. It's much worse than I could have imagined..

A Top Trump Aide Worked In Libya With Key Backers Of An Alleged "Sex Cult" (https://www.buzzfeed.com/tariniparti/trump-hagin-libya-igtet?utm_term=.la9LlZrYW5#.uaJneLa2Z1)

Joe Hagin saw Libyan expatriate Basit Igtet as a golden goose. Igtet was more than that.

Joseph Whitehouse Hagin, President Donald Trump’s deputy chief of staff for operations, has a reputation for being the experienced, steady hand amid the chaos in the White House. The 62-year-old Republican has been a Washington insider for almost four decades, operating largely behind the scenes as the ultimate gray man.

But Hagin put his dreary political life on pause during the Obama years for the world of international influence peddling. That business, the kind of money-soaked dealing Trump lacerated during his presidential campaign, made Hagin and a company he cofounded millions of dollars. It also brought Hagin a lucrative client: an aspiring Libyan expatriate politician with deep pockets and troubling relationships, according to five sources who spoke with BuzzFeed News.

Basit Igtet, the Libyan client, was an exile eyeing a triumphant comeback at the dawn of the Arab Spring. Hagin and his firm worked with Igtet from 2011 until at least 2013: First, Hagin would help him build support for the rebel government that toppled Muammar al-Qaddafi, and later he and his colleagues would run an international treasure hunt to try to recover Libya’s stolen billions in exchange for a massive payoff for his firm, according to three sources.

Igtet, however, had other interests outside recovering Libyan riches, including one at the center of a major sex-trafficking case. Igtet was deeply involved in NXIVM, the celebrity (https://www.buzzfeed.com/davidmack/allison-mack-sex-cult-smallville-women-keith-raniere?utm_term=.uu8YdK2a9#.gfXW4qXz9) “sex cult” (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/30/magazine/sex-cult-empowerment-nxivm-keith-raniere.html) whose leadership is now under federal indictment, two sources said. Igtet proselytized for the group, BuzzFeed News has learned, while his wife, the heir Sara Bronfman, reportedly (https://www.vanityfair.com/culture/2010/11/bronfman-201011) kept the cult afloat with tens of millions of dollars.

And in 2013 — as Hagin’s future boss was railing (https://twitter.com/search?l=&q=benghazi%20from%3ArealDonaldTrump%20until%3A2013-12-31&src=typd&lang=en) against the Obama administration over the 2012 terrorist attack on the US embassy in Benghazi that killed a US ambassador — Igtet met with the man the US believed to be the mastermind of the attack, who has since been convicted on terrorism charges.

But Hagin’s firm, seeing the chance to reap millions, viewed Igtet as a golden goose and continued to work with the couple even as their associations with NXIVM became increasingly public.

Priebus recruited the scumbag.

Trump getting rid of him is a good thing.

Priebus was virtually the first guy that Trump hired. Sent a clear message of business as usual, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama...... Trump.

They had to dump him, his cover was blown and he had become a liability.

Trump has to make deals in order to get anything done, Priebus was one of those deals.

I am most totally not in a state of shock over the new news about a turnover.
If nothing else, Donald John Trump burns people out. They fall away in droves.
