In an incident that ominously mirrors a series of similar attacks in Havana that left more than 20 State Department employees with serious injuries, a health alert has been issued to US citizens in China after an American government worker suffered symptoms from what appeared to be some kind of sonic attack. (https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-06/us-officials-confirm-mysterious-cuba-attack-victims-suffered-brain-abnormalities)
The US Embassy in China issued the following statement (https://china.usembassy-china.org.cn/ha-05232018/)this morning in response to the incident:

A U.S. government employee in China recently reported subtle and vague, but abnormal, sensations of sound and pressure. The U.S. government is taking these reports seriously and has informed its official staff in China of this event. We do not currently know what caused the reported symptoms and we are not aware of any similar situations in China, either inside or outside of the diplomatic community.
The description of the sound - which the victim said produced abnormal sensations and pressures - sound eerily familiar to a series of similar "sonic attacks" that afflicted US embassy personnel in Havana, beginning shortly after President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race.
Though their source has never been determined, the attacks damaged relations between the US and Cuban governments and also left some embassy employees with mild brain damage. The US recalled most of its embassy staff from Havana before expelling 15 Cuban diplomats from Washington in response to the alleged attack.

The incident in China occurred just as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is preparing to meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Washington late Wednesday, and as trade talks between the US and China appear to have reached an impasse.
The employee who was injured reported hearing "subtle and vague, but abnormal, sensations of sound and pressure," according to a copy of the alert obtained by NBC (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/u-s-worker-china-sickened-brain-injury-after-mystery-sound-n876686?cid=sm_npd_nn_tw_ma). It warns any US citizen who experiences similar sensations to move quickly move somewhere else.

"We do not currently know what caused the reported symptoms and we are not aware of any similar situations in China, either inside or outside of the diplomatic community."
"While in China, if you experience any unusual acute auditory or sensory phenomena accompanied by unusual sounds or piercing noises, do not attempt to locate their source. Instead, move to a location where the sounds are not present."
Like several of the victims in Havana, the unnamed individual who was the target of the sonic attack in China also experienced a mild traumatic brain injury.

Several US citizens have been evacuated from the US consulate in Guangzhou, China, after falling ill with various neurological symptoms from mysterious "sonic attacks" similar to incidents reported in Havana Cuba which left 20 State Department employees with serious injuries.

On Wednesday night, consulate worker Mark Lenzi and his family were evacuated after hearing strange noises over the course of several months, which Lenzi described as "marbles bouncing and hitting a floor then rolling on an incline with a static sound," according to the Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/global-opinions/a-diplomats-mysterious-illness-could-put-us-chinese-relations-on-a-rocky-path/2018/06/06/47e885a0-6997-11e8-bf8c-f9ed2e672adf_story.html?utm_term=.c1800348873e).

At first, he and his wife thought that their neighbor — a fellow Foreign Service officer in the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, China — was responsible. The neighbor denied having anything to do with it.
A few months later, the headaches started — excruciating pain that lasted for days at a time. Lenzi, his wife, and their 3-year-old son experienced the same symptoms, which soon included chronic sleeplessness as well. Lenzi says that he asked his superiors for help but that they dismissed his concerns. Consulate doctors prescribed painkillers and Ambien, which did nothing to address the underlying causes of the problem. -WaPo (https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/global-opinions/a-diplomats-mysterious-illness-could-put-us-chinese-relations-on-a-rocky-path/2018/06/06/47e885a0-6997-11e8-bf8c-f9ed2e672adf_story.html?utm_term=.c1800348873e)
Lenzi then learned that his next-door neighbor had been evacuated from the consulate and flown back to the United States to undergo a thorough medical assessment - which concluded that the person was suffering from "mild traumatic brain injury."
The State Department issued a statement on May 23, warning that an unnamed "U.S. government employee in China recently reported subtle and vague, but abnormal, sensations of sound and pressure,” and urging anyone with “concerns about symptoms or medical problems that developed during or after a stay in China” to “consult a medical professional.”

The statement also said that the U.S. government was unaware of any other cases — a point strongly disputed by Lenzi, who insists that he had repeatedly informed both the embassy in Beijing and State Department headquarters in Washington of his family’s predicament. “Mark is a very capable guy,” says political consultant Michael Getto, a longtime friend of Lenzi’s. “If he says something is wrong or amiss, then it is.” -WaPo (https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/global-opinions/a-diplomats-mysterious-illness-could-put-us-chinese-relations-on-a-rocky-path/2018/06/06/47e885a0-6997-11e8-bf8c-f9ed2e672adf_story.html?utm_term=.c1800348873e)
The description of the sound - which the victim said produced abnormal sensations and pressures - sound eerily familiar to a series of similar "sonic attacks" that afflicted US embassy personnel in Havana, beginning shortly after President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race.
On May 23, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo noted the comparisons between the China incidents and the Cuban attacks during a House hearing, stating "The medical indications are very similar, and entirely consistent with, the medical indications that were taking place to Americans working in Cuba."

Though their source has never been determined, the attacks damaged relations between the US and Cuban governments and also left some embassy employees with mild brain damage. The US recalled most of its embassy staff from Havana before expelling 15 Cuban diplomats from Washington in response to the alleged attack.

Lenzi says he believes that the number of those affected will turn out to be higher than Washington expects. If he’s right, U.S.-Chinese relations could start to enter a rocky patch. -WaPo
Likewise, the new sonic attacks risk straining relationships between Washington and Beijing - which the Trump administration has been pressing hard on trade, while at the same time relying on China to help negotiate with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. As WaPo notes, "A widening scandal involving the possible mistreatment of U.S. diplomats couldn’t come at a worse time."

So far, the fact that only a single staff member is publicly known to have been affected has allowed the Trump administration to play down the Guangzhou case. That may no longer be possible if more victims present themselves — and Lenzi, for one, is not prepared to go away quietly. -WaPo (https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/global-opinions/a-diplomats-mysterious-illness-could-put-us-chinese-relations-on-a-rocky-path/2018/06/06/47e885a0-6997-11e8-bf8c-f9ed2e672adf_story.html?utm_term=.c1800348873e)
Would you if your wife and three-year-old had been sonically attacked to the point of brain injury?
Mike Pompeo has dispatched the "Health Incidents Response Task Force" to Guangzhou on May 31 to examine consulate employees who so request, including Lenzi and his family - who have been told they will likely receive a detailed brain analysis in the United States.
The high-level medical team's role includes “identification and treatment of affected personnel and family members, investigation and risk mitigation, messaging, and diplomatic outreach.”
In the same announcement, Pompeo said that “24 US government personnel and family members who served in Cuba have been medically-confirmed as having symptoms and clinical findings similar to those noted following concussion or minor traumatic brain injury”, as well as the initial China consulate victim.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said in a press briefing that China had investigated the May 16 cases but found no reason for the illness.
“China has conducted a very careful investigation and has given preliminary findings to the US, and we haven’t found the reason or clues that led to the situation mentioned by the US,” he said.
“China has always followed the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations and consular relations to protect the US diplomatic staff and staff from other countries.”
What could be causing these mysterious attacks?

Very good.. Did that come up at the top of your search..

I was reading it in books before the WWWeb existed. First discovered with early Radar systems.. The Frey Effect.

Now research V2K+ Hypnotic Drugs. and you see how easy it is to create a killer. (for those politically inclined to do so)

The US has linked a mysterious illness contracted by a government employee in China to strange sounds heard by US diplomats in Cuba for the first time. In an unusual move on Friday, the US Embassy in China sent out its second health advisory in two weeks warning US citizens to contact a doctor if they feel unwell and to not try to locate the source of "any unidentified auditory sensation."
The alert came after a US government employee (http://www.businessinsider.com/us-warns-after-china-embassy-workers-brain-injury-possible-sonic-attack-2018-5) in Guangzhou recently experienced "vague, but abnormal, sensations of sound and pressure" and developed mild traumatic brain injury, the same condition US officials developed in a serious of unusual events in Cuba (http://www.businessinsider.com/cuba-diplomats-brain-injuries-investigation-2018-2).
But the US seems to have confirmed the link between the two incidents.

"The State Department received medical confirmation that a US government employee in China suffered a medical incident consistent with what other US government personnel experienced in Havana, Cuba," the advisory read.
It also advised any US citizen, or their family members, who experience "any unusual, unexplained physical symptoms or events, auditory or sensory phenomena, or other health concerns" to contact their doctor. Symptoms citizens were urged to look out for include dizziness, headaches, tinnitus, fatigue, cognitive issues, visual problems, ear complaints, hearing loss, and difficulty sleeping.
These are the same symptoms victims in Havana, of which there are more than 20, reported experiencing (http://www.businessinsider.com/sonic-weapons-used-diplomats-cuba-brain-damage-2017-9). Some of those individuals didn't feel or hear anything strange, but others reported hearing strange noises (http://www.businessinsider.com/recording-sound-cuba-sonic-weapon-attacks-2017-10) that some have linked to "sonic attacks (http://www.businessinsider.com/sonic-weapons-cuba-diplomats-hearing-loss-2017-8)."

A U.S. medical team was screening more Americans who work at the consulate in southern China as the State Department confirmed evacuating a number of government employees who experienced unexplained health issues like those that have hurt U.S. personnel in Cuba and China. The evacuations of workers in Guangzhou followed medical testing that revealed they might have been affected. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said "a number of individuals" had been brought to the U.S. but didn't say how many were affected or evacuated. A previous case in Guangzhou, disclosed last month, prompted the tests.
Nauert also said that remaining U.S. government personnel and their families in Guangzhou would also be able to request testing if they "noted concerning symptoms or wanted baseline screening."

In a deepening medical and diplomatic mystery (http://www.newser.com/story/260291/more-americans-sent-home-amid-china-sonic-attack-fears.html), US officials have confirmed that the State Department has pulled at least 11 Americans from China who reported strange neurological symptoms, reports the New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/30/world/asia/china-sonic-guangzhou.html). Eight of the evacuees are connected to the US consulate in of Guangzhou, two from the embassy in Beijing, and one from the consulate in Shanghai.

The U.S. has evacuated at least three Americans from Beijing after they reported unusual health symptoms, in the latest evacuations since unexplained health incidents (https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-evacuates-more-americans-from-china-after-mystery-illness-complaints-1530437259?mod=article_inline) first affected U.S. diplomatic personnel stationed in Cuba in 2016. In a U.S. Embassy meeting on Tuesday, staff were told that the latest people evacuated, as with previous cases, were sent for further medical evaluation to the University of Pennsylvania, a person familiar with the matter said.
The U.S. Embassy in Beijing didn’t immediately comment. At the embassy meeting, the affected individuals weren’t identified by name, and it wasn’t made clear whether they were diplomatic personnel or family members.

The latest cases are believed to be the first from Beijing. At least a dozen Americans have now been evacuated from China, the only other country besides Cuba where the unexplained health incidents are known to have struck U.S. government personnel.

Interesting, this has been going on for a while. First I read about it. Yet, it could be something of great importance in the writing of future history, I don't know.

I'm at least interested to hear what it is or is not. :o

My Dad was a Radar Operator in WWII, when it was still "classified".

I grew up with High Tension Wires..

and I wonder how much of my tinnitus is Microwave induced, and how much is Old Ears.
