32 Palestinians were killed over the past week and at least 200 injured on Friday by Israeli gunfire
Israel has come under international criticism for its use of force
Israel said it acted in self defence and that many killed were militants

They said the demonstrators, including two teenage boys aged 16 and 17, were killed at protest sites along the frontier during a round of daily demonstrations that began on March 30 and are known as "The Great March of Return" (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-04-01/gaza-israel-border-violence-subsides-palestinians-mourn-dead/9608084).

Gaza health officials said a well-known Palestinian journalist also died from a gunshot wound sustained while covering the demonstrations.

Incidentally, credit to media owners for very proportionate coverage of this bloodbath relative to Parkland school shooting. That said, there are no reports in MSM saying that Pelosi conveyed Trump's or Hillary's authorization of such firing by Israeli snipers at civilians of non-chosen races.

Pelosi and 9 Dems had ‘excellent meeting’ with Netanyahu even as Israel sent ‘dozens of snipers’ to Gaza

US Politics (http://mondoweiss.net/us-politics/) Philip Weiss (http://mondoweiss.net/author/philweiss/) on April 4, 2018 43 Comments (http://mondoweiss.net/2018/04/excellent-netanyahu-snipers/#comments)

Dems meeting Netanyahu on March 26, 2018 are left to right, Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.), Ambassador David Friedman, Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.), Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), Netanyahu, Donald McEachin (D-Va.), Pelosi, Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), and Jamie Raskin (D-Md.)

Last Tuesday March 26, Nancy Pelosi led a delegation of ten House Democrats to Israel, where most of them met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu tweeted that night (https://twitter.com/netanyahu/status/978366631024918528)that he’d had an “excellent meeting” with the congresspeople.
At that time, Israel was already planning to shoot Palestinians in Gaza at the Land Day demonstration on Friday: “dozens of snipers will be deployed along the Gaza border,” the army announced that same day (https://www.timesofisrael.com/with-extra-troops-snipers-drones-israel-braces-for-land-day-border-protest/).

Seven things you need to know about Israel’s latest attack on Gaza

Michael Lesher (http://mondoweiss.net/author/michael-lesher/) on April 5, 20181. Israel’s killings were premeditated.

2. Israeli violence had nothing to do with “security.”

3. There were no “clashes.”

4. Israel targeted its victims for political reasons.

5. Israel commits its crimes because the U.S. lets it.

Like other bullies, Israel fights only where it cannot lose. At the United Nations, it reverts to the role of toady and lets Uncle Sam do the slugging. U.S. Ambassador (and former Confederate flag booster (https://www.salon.com/2014/10/15/nikki_haley_its_ok_to_have_the_confederate_flag_at _the_statehouse_because_not_a_single_ceo_has_compl ained/)) Nikki Haley, who says she dislikes bullies (https://www.unwatch.org/nikki-haley-aipac-2018-full-speech/), displayed her true passions at the Security Council over the weekend as she swooned over this latest proof of Israeli manhood. The normally voluble Ms. Haley has so far been unable to catch her breath sufficiently to issue a public statement, but on Washington’s orders she did manage to squelch a draft resolution (https://www.timesofisrael.com/us-blocks-un-resolution-condemning-israel-for-deaths-in-gaza-clashes/)that would have urged “restraint” and an “investigation” into the circumstances of the civilian deaths. As Karl Rove once reminded (https://www.huffingtonpost.com/marshall-fine/defending-fact-based-real_b_1864252.html) a reporter, neither facts nor law have any bearing on those favored by the American titan: “When we act, we create our own reality.”

6. Mainstream media, and Jewish organizations, assist in the cover-up.

The proliferation of apologetics in mainstream media for Israel’s deadly violence has been so instantaneous, and so nauseating, that I will only sample the field briefly. Sticking to the liberal end of the spectrum, one finds Ha’aretz‘s Amos Harel lamenting (https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/.premium-forget-rockets-hamas-found-a-more-effective-way-to-agitate-israel-1.5962825) that “Hamas…has found a more effective way of creating friction with the Israel Defense Forces than firing rockets and carrying out attacks through its tunnels.” (How nasty of those Palestinians to get themselves killed just to ruin the mornings of some IDF brass!) In fact, Harel notes, the Gazans have proved so treacherous that “despite the large number of Palestinian casualties not a single rocket has been fired into Israel from the Strip.” What’s a besieger to do? The more lopsided its violence, the easier it is to hurt poor Israel’s feelings.

7. Israel’s crimes will continue until we make it stop.

John Cook reports at Gawker (http://gawker.com/5877892/): Andrew Adler, the owner and publisher of the Atlanta Jewish Times, a weekly newspaper serving Atlanta’s Jewish community, devoted his January 13, 2012 column to the thorny problem of the U.S. and Israel’s diverging views on the threat posed by Iran. Basically Israel has three options, he wrote: Strike Hezbollah and Hamas, strike Iran, or “order a hit” on Barack Obama (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/284979-ajt.html). Either way, problem solved!
Here’s how Adler laid out “option three” in his list of scenarios facing Israeli president Benjamin Netanyahu (the column, which was forwarded to us by a tipster, isn’t online, but you can read a copy here (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/284979-ajt.html)):

Video shows Israeli sniper shooting Palestinian 03:47

Jerusalem (CNN)With international criticism of Israel's response to the Gaza protests growing, video emerged on Monday appearing to show an Israel Defence Forces (IDF) sniper shooting a Palestinian man standing near the border fence.

After the Palestinian man falls to the ground, soldiers are heard cheering in the background. One yells, "What a legendary film!"
The video, which circulated on social media, appears to be through a scope, showing the Gaza border fence and a field behind it.
The sniper is heard discussing the shot with another soldier nearby.
"When he stops, you take him down," the soldier says. "Are you on him?"
"I can't fire because of the barbed wire," the sniper responds a short time later.
"Take out the one in the pink," the other soldier says after a few moments.
IDF soldiers cheer as you hear the gunshot and see the Palestinian man fall.
"Son of a bitch!" one soldier, who appears to have recorded the video, yells. "What a legendary film! I haven't seen this kind of thing for a long time."
A group of Palestinians can be seen in the video running to the fallen man's side and removing him from the field.

Interesting contrast, Trump is concerned about plight of Islamic Arab children of Syria and Warren is concerned about Palestinian children:

As Most Democrats Stay Silent, Elizabeth Warren Calls on Israel to Exercise Restraint Against Palestinian Protesters (https://theintercept.com/2018/04/12/israel-palestine-conflict-elizabeth-warren/)

April 12 2018, 11:46 a.m.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., broke with the political establishment and called on the Israeli government to respect the rights of Palestinian protesters in Gaza in a statement to The Intercept on Wednesday.
“I am deeply concerned about the deaths and injuries in Gaza,” Warren said. “As additional protests are planned for the coming days, the Israel Defense Forces should exercise restraint and respect the rights of Palestinians to peacefully protest.”
The statement is a sign that the turning tide of opinions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict within the Democratic Party — which has traditionally been stridently pro-Israel — is trickling up to senior figures in the party. (A recent survey (https://www.timesofisrael.com/poll-democratic-support-for-israel-palestinians-nearly-identical/) from the Pew Research Center showed that Democrats are almost as likely to be sympathetic to Palestinians as they are to Israelis.) It also signifies Warren’s personal evolution on the issue, as she has not always acknowledged Palestinian rights. In 2014, Warren more or less repeated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s talking points (https://theintercept.com/2014/08/28/elizabeth-warren-speaks-israelgaza-sounds-like-netanyahu/) about the war in Gaza, defending Israel’s right to self-defense against Hamas, even as the military bombarded civilian infrastructure in Gaza. She also walked away (https://youtu.be/AaZ5_Xosmxo) when asked a question about Gaza at the liberal Netroots Nation conference that year.

Natalie Portman says, Enough!

Philip Weiss and James North on April 19, 2018

The Gaza killings have hurt Israel’s image in the world, and tonight the damage got even bigger. In an astonishing move, the Israeli-American film star Natalie Portman, 36, informed an Israeli foundation she would not show up at the awards ceremony for Israel’s equivalent of the Nobel Prize, because, as the JTA reports (https://www.jta.org/2018/04/19/news-opinion/genesis-prize-cancels-ceremony-2018-winner-natalie-portman-said-wont-visit-israel?utm_source=JTA+Maropost&utm_campaign=JTA&utm_medium=email&mpweb=1161-3930-23381):
The [Genesis] foundation said that Portman’s representative notified it that “[r]ecent events in Israel have been extremely distressing to her and she does not feel comfortable participating in any public events in Israel” and that “she cannot in good conscience move forward with the ceremony.”

The statement is surely a reference to Israel’s killing of nearly 40 unarmed Palestinian protesters in Gaza, which have shocked Jews around the world.

Ditzy Nikki's Little Stunt.
Ms. Crocodile Tears Ditzy Nikki Haley won't be holding up any photos of the 50,000 Yemeni children that died as a result of Saudi Arabia, or of Syrian children who died from Washington's "moderate" terrorist rebel army, nor will she hold up pictures of dead Palestinian children. Nope, for Ditzy Nikki Haley, children are only worthy victims if she can exploit their misfortune (real or manufactured) for Neocon agenda. All the rest of the world's children are just unworthy.

From Consortium News (https://consortiumnews.com/2018/04/20/worthy-and-unworthy-victims/):

U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley holds up pictures in the Security Council of dead Syrian babies (https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4722463/un-ambassador-haley-condemns-syria-chemical-attack) ... Unworthy victims for example are the 50,000 Yemeni children (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/ct-save-the-children-yemen-20171116-story.html) who have died of starvation because of Saudi Arabia’s blockade ... Unworthy victims are blamed for being victims... Unworthy victims have no human rights. Yemen is a humanitarian disaster that is ignored. ... and Washington is helping the Saudi war effort with equipment and logistical support.

So there is no outrage from the U.S. when Saudi Arabia Crown Prince and defense minister Mohammad bin Salman drops U.S.- manufactured bombs from U.S.-made planes, which indiscriminately slaughter Yemeni men, women and children below. MBS is instead the darling of the neocons. ...

There is no outrage in the U.S. when Netanyahu and his regime orders Israeli soldiers to massacre them. Hundreds of Palestinians were gunned down on Land Day (https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/gaza-israel-land-day-massacre-180404120852381.html) and during demonstrations ... Four more have been killed today (https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/the-latest-gaza-ministry-young-protesters-shot-in-the-head/2018/04/20/c3c6c03c-4481-11e8-b2dc-b0a403e4720a_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.fc96f4b0d7a3) [4/20/18] and hundreds more wounded ... But Netanyahu has every reason to believe that the U.S. will protect him ... Nikki Haley is not going to hold up pictures of dead Palestinian children.

Instead she will shield (https://www.codepink.org/nikki_haley_do_your_job) Netanyahu from criticism, and accuse his critics of being anti-Semitic. Netanyahu’s victims are unworthy victims. ...

The Palestinians that have been shot dead in Gaza were inside the Israeli enclosure that has been their prison for over a decade. ... They presented no danger to the Israeli soldiers that were on the Israeli side of the barricade. ... Hundreds of Palestinians were shot with illegal fragmentation bullets ...

Netanyahu’s orders were illegal and the soldiers followed illegal orders. The Nuremberg Trials declared that “just following orders” is not a defense against war crimes. ...

Gaza has become an inhumane, open-air prison. ... The people in Gaza have been cut off from the outside world. Israel controls everything and anything that goes in or out. What goes in is barely enough food for Gazans to survive. Netanyahu joked once he put Gaza on a diet (https://electronicintifada.net/content/israels-starvation-diet-gaza/11810). The sick, wounded and dying are not allowed to get out of Gaza to go to a hospital for medical treatment without Israeli permission. Netanyahu rarely gives that permission. Netanyahu’s victims are unworthy victims and are blamed for being victims. ...

In 2006 Israel tightened the noose around Gaza by imposing a total blockade ... [because] they democratically elected the wrong government, against Israel’s wishes. Instead of electing the Israeli controlled ... Fatah ... Israel used to consider Fatah a terrorist organization, but now it does not because they are collaborators. Instead Israel, which secretly backed (https://www.huffingtonpost.com/joe-lauria/pillar-of-defense_b_2171153.html) the formation of Hamas in a divide and conquer strategy, [now] calls Hamas terrorists. ...

Israel has killed and wounded journalists reporting from Gaza. They are unworthy victims too. So there’s no outcry from the mainstream media. ...

Israel gets billions of dollars in U.S. financial aid every year, regardless of what Netanyahu does. Putin is accused of invading Crimea when Russian troops were already legally deployed there and Crimeans voted in a referendum to rejoin their historical attachment to Russia. Putin is vilified for (allegedly) meddling in U.S. politics. Netanyahu gets standing ovations from joint sessions of Congress. ...

Netanyahu thumbs his nose at international law. The U.S. has vetoed 43 (http://www.middleeasteye.net/news/42-times-us-has-used-its-veto-power-against-un-resolutions-israel-942194703) U.N. Security Council resolutions against Israel. ... The U.S. tried to block an investigation by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/chemical-weapons-watchdog-to-send-investigators-to-syria/2018/04/10/fd18a736-3cd6-11e8-a7d1-e4efec6389f0_story.html?utm_term=.7864987007b9) (OPCW) of the alleged chemical weapon attack site in Syria. The OPCW says it will investigate anyway....

To give credit where due, US MSM is showing mazing restraint in not covering this violence:

Israeli forces kill four Palestinians, wound 955 at Gaza protest

Four Palestinian protesters killed and more than 950 wounded as Israeli forces again open fire at Gaza border.

April 28, 2018

Israeli soldiers shot dead three Palestinian demonstrators and wounded more than 950 at the Gaza (https://www.aljazeera.com/topics/city/gaza.html) border, despite the UN (https://www.aljazeera.com/topics/organisations/un.html) human rights chief urging Israel (https://www.aljazeera.com/topics/country/israel.html) to stop using excessive force against Palestinian protesters.

A fourth victim, a 15-year old boy named Azzam Hillal, died of his wounds on Saturday. He was shot in the head by Israeli military during Friday's protest.
Among the wounded, 178 were shot with live ammunition on Friday while others sustained injuries from rubber-coated steel rounds, or required treatment for tear gas exposure.

Thousands gathered in the besieged Gaza Strip for the fifth-straight Friday as part of a mass sit-in known as the Great March of Return (https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/features/return-lands-bloodshed-bombs-180330170242175.html) movement. Palestinians have been demanding the right to return to their homes seized by Israel in 1948.

The protests raised the total death toll to at least 45 Palestinian demonstrators, with more than 6,000 wounded since the mass movement began on March 30. There have been no Israeli casualties.

Israeli Troops First Shot a Gaza Journalist's Left Leg, Then His Right. And They Didn't Stop There

The amputation of 19-year-old Gaza photographer Yousef Kronz's left leg could have been prevented had Israel let him receive timely medical treatment in the West Bank
