Sioux City, Ia. - Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul expressed concerns Tuesday that the weakness of the U.S. dollar will affect the nation’s foreign trade picture.
The Texas congressman spoke to about 200 people at the Sioux City Convention Center on a day when the Federal Reserve cut a short-term interest rate and the stock market took another plunge.
“Our dollar has had support from overseas, and these people have been willing to loan money to us. Now, things are changing, and it’s going to change this whole country,” he said. “A weak dollar is a very, very bad sign.”
