"We know it's tough being a Neo-con these days. Seems like nobody understands. You try to tell them but they just look at you like you are from another planet. Or worse they start to tell you that neo-conism is ALL a lie, designed to bring down America. That scares you because what they say kind of makes sense. You feel very confused! And then there is that nagging sensation in the pit of your stomach every time George Bush takes away another freedom. Or expands Gov't another 20%. And talk of the trillions in debt makes you cringe. You think, "how is this conservative"?
And then you watch the republican presidential debates and hear all of them espousing standard issue neo-speak. Ahh, you feel better. Until one candidate named Ron Paul starts to speak about freedom and small constitutional gov't. That triggers deep memories that have been dormant for soooooo long. You feel an excitement that has been gone for so long. But then all the neo-candidates start belittling him and you feel very confused again. You have a hard time reconciling how Ron Paul could possibly be wrong when he sounds so right.
After some soul searching you have an epiphany. You realize that the reason Ron Paul sounds crazy to the Neo-con sheeple is because he abides by that crazy document called the Constitution. It's been so long since any republican has done that. And it seems strange. Yet it seems right somehow.
You think. Maybe you should re-read it. It's a fairly easy read, being a couple thousand words. But you must beware. It is reputed to create a dangerous paradigm shift towards freedom. You fear that your neo-sheeple friends may shun you. Because you might start sounding like Ron Paul. Of course, then it hits you. And you realize that's no problem. You can make new friends in the Ron Paul campaign. There is rumored to be a lot more of them than you may think. So you watch for Ron Paul bumper stickers and pull over one of the awakened. And with their guidance you, are de-neo-programmed and you start to love real freedom again.
As your awareness grows you feel increasingly liberated from your old neo-prison. You no longer have that lingering angst about the candidate you support. You know that Ron Paul has an uphill battle to the presidency. But you know it is a righteous battle and you are finally involved in a true noble cause. My God, it feels so good.
You start telling your neo-sheeple friends about your new awareness. They have the same reaction to you, that you used to have. But you persist because the cause is true and just. You spoon feed the neo-sheeple a little bit at a time. Slowly you start to see a spark of awareness in your friends. They start asking serious questions instead of belittling you. And you find it is becoming easier because the Ron Paul Revolution is starting to spread. There are so many cars with his bumper stickers on them. And none for the other neo-candidates.
The people start to sense a sea change is afoot. And being human nature, they want to be part of it. And you have the satisfaction of being at the forefront. Your life has political meaning again. And you are so thankful to have been freed from the neo-ignorance you once endured.
