Liberal democrat icon Chuck Schumer was given prominent speaking slot at Trump inauguration ceremony. Could he join Trump administration in coming months?
The two fellow New Yrokers may have more in common than not, from gun control to path to DACA, from gay marriage to LGBT rights, from increasing government spending to supporting zionism/Israel , from Planned Parenthood to Kissinger's foreign policy .. list of their common track record is not short.

Schumer applauds Trump as NRA pushes back 4 days ago - PERINO: Schumer unveiled a three-part gun control plan from Democrats today. He insists a ban on assault weapons be part of the senate debate. Marco Rubio pitched his own set of proposals, including confiscating guns from those who pose a trust. President Trump supports that idea, but not the NRA.

If the GOP takes big losses in the mid-terms, I think that'll be the final straw.

People will suffer a lying, unprincipled, incompetent fool for a long time, but not one who also costs them elections.

If that happens, I could easily see Trump wanting to cosy up with the Dems (more than he already has).

The problem (for Trump, in this scenario) is that I don't think many Dems could survive their own elections if they joined up with Trump.

He might end up a man with no country (for lack of steel and walls?) and an early lame duck.

That seems plausible , the last straw for the man without a party opens various disruptive unconventional possibilities.

Doubtful, he is pushing the chaos narrative - http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?519981-Chaos-chaos-chaos-and-Trump

It would be an interesting strategy to get Schumer out of office.

But you would have to give him a position where he couldn't do too much damage while you waited to fire him after he was replaced in the Senate.
