Governor Rick Perry was asked if he had considered supporting the only Texan on the presidential ballot, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul.

"No," he said dismissively. "I didn't have to study that one too long."

Mr. Paul holds many libertarian positions, such as opposing the Iraq war, eliminating income taxes and ridding the federal government of agencies – such as education – that are not specifically called for in the U.S. Constitution, saying those issues are best left to the states.

Mr. I wanna have a NAU superhighway through my state? Go figure.

Maybe Texans will read this and remember he isn't really for them, and will vote for Paul instead of who Perry tells them to.

What an ass. He lives in Austin? Most Paul supporters are active there.

"You get to make choices in life. And I made a choice that Ron Paul is not mine for president," Perry said. "Pretty simple for me; I didn't have to study that one too deep."

Paul spokesman Jesse Benton later said, "I wonder how that squares with Texans," referring to Perry's siding with Giuliani.

Perry submitted the filing papers for Giuliani accompanied by Jim Francis of Dallas, Giuliani's national campaign chairman. The Giuliani

I can't believe that douche bag Perry got re-elected..

We're going to have to let Perry be greeted by a wall of Ron Paul supporters one day.

I don't like Perry very much but from what I've seen he's at least a strong believer in gun rights.

Perry's non-endorsement of RP is the BEST endorsement RP could get in Texas. Perry squeaked by in getting reelected with the vote split among four candidates. He won with less than 40% of the vote.

Perry is really hated here mostly over trying to force girls to get HPV vaccinations!

I know some that voted for him that have totally flipped now and hate him because of this.
