When does the paper absentee ballot begin in your state? ;) Some started already!

I thought I heard somewhere that absentee ballots don't get counted unless there is reason to suspect it will alter the outcome of the results. This sounds completely bogus, but wouldn't put it past our wonderful system. Anyone able to verify/debunk this?

No, all absentee ballots are counted on the same day as election. It might be different in each state.

I've suggested using mail ballots that have notarized and copied and sent in as a folded and taped document with no envelope so when they a post mark it, and if the election officials don't count it right they might be jailed for some sort of mail fraud. I'm no lawyer so I don't know if that would work.

In Louisiana, a voter can watch, but they must stay through the whole process.
