Presidential Campaign Ads Could Dominate Super Bowl (http://bet-the-nfl-super-bowl.com/2007/04/14/presidential-campaign-ads-could-dominate-super-bowl/)

April 14th, 2007
This year’s Super Bowl featured commercials that were criticized for anti-gay themes and sexually suggestive content. But next year’s Super Bowl could feature something much worse: Blowhard politicians appealing to the bases of their parties.
The big day in the 2008 presidential primaries will be the first Tuesday in February, which is two days after the Super Bowl. So expect all the major candidates to buy ad time during the big game.
“That is a very ripe and timely target,” said Mark McKinnon, chief media strategist for President Bush in 2000 and 2004 and now an adviser to Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign. “It would reach a huge audience at a very critical time. I think campaigns will look very closely at that.”
I can’t help but wonder, though, if these ads won’t alienate voters. People like to get together and enjoy themselves during the Super Bowl, and entertaining commercials are a part of that. If a political argument breaks out at your Super Bowl party, might that make you less likely to vote for the candidate who sparked it?

Whoever said they can't run political ads during this coming Super Bowl will need to show me proof saying so. I can't find it anywhere stating they won't.
