No doubt the FBI investigation into the Awan Brothers was handled by Democrat partisan infiltrators like Peter Strzok. Everything is being swept under the rug, with minimal token charges meant to distract from the real crimes.

Every one of the 44 House Democrats who hired Pakistan-born IT aides who later allegedly made “unauthorized access” to congressional data appears to have chosen to exempt them from background checks, according to congressional documents.

All of them appear to have waived background checks on Imran Awan and his family members, even though the family of server administrators could collectively read all the emails and files of 1 in 5 House Democrats, and despite background checks being recommended for such positions, according to an inspector general’s report. The House security policy requires offices to fill out a form attesting that they’ve initiated background checks, but it also includes a loophole allowing them to simply say that another member vouched for them.

For each server administrator, an “Authorizing Official” from the member’s office must fill out a form on which the office attests (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4424840-Forms.html): “I have assessed the risk of the prospective Privileged Account holder via background check processes outlined in HISPOL 16.”
However, there is an alternative: “I have verified that a trustworthiness determination has been made on behalf of this shared resource by another Member.”
http://cdn01.dailycaller.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/hispol16-620x260.pngHouse background check form

The option B does not ask the name of the member that vouched for the employee, and the language does not directly specify that vouching for an employee requires that the earlier member provided a background check.
The Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to all 44 members, and none disputed that they had not conducted a background check. Not a single one of the 44 would say which of their colleagues vouched for the Awans, nor stated what criteria they used to determine that it was prudent to give them access to all their data.
Besides Wasserman Schultz, Imran has longstanding personal relationships (https://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/house-democrats-it-staffers-hina-alvi-imran-awan-235569) with Reps. Gregory Meeks and Marcia Fudge of New York, Politico reported. Employers also include Rep. Andre Carson of Indiana, Jackie Speier of California and Joaquin Castro of Texas.

The father of Imran Awan - a longtime IT aide from Pakistan who made "unauthorized access" to the House computer network - reportedly transferred a USB drive to the former head of a Pakistani intelligence agency, alleges the father's ex-business partner, Rashid Minhas.

Minhas told the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) - which traveled to Pakistan to interview those involved - that Haji Ashraf Awan, Imran Awan's father, had been giving information to Rehman Malik - former head of Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and current senator. Malik was appointed to Interior Minister in early 2008, only to step down in 2013 after he lost a Supreme Court hearing over holding dual UK citizenship.

Minhas told The Daily Caller News Foundation that Imran Awan’s father, Haji Ashraf Awan, was giving data to Pakistani official Rehman Malik, and that Imran bragged he had the power to “change the U.S. president.”
Asked for how he knew this, he said that on one occasion in 2008 when a “USB [was] given to Rehman Malik by Imran’s father, my brother Abdul Razzaq was with his father.” -DCNF (http://dailycaller.com/2018/04/18/imran-awan-usb-drive-pakistan/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter&utm_campaign=atdailycaller)
“After Imran’s father deliver (sic) USB to Rehman Malik, four Pakistani [government intelligence] agents were with his father 24-hour on duty to protect him,” he said - however Minhas did not say what was on the USB.

House Sergeant-At-Arms Paul Irving banned the Awans from the congressional network on Feb. 2, 2017 after the IG report alleged that the Awans were making “unauthorized access” to House servers. They logged in using members of Congress’s personal usernames and logged into servers of members for whom they did not work, the IG report said. After some members fired them, they still kept accessing their data, an IG presentation charged.

The behavior mirrored a “classic method for insiders to exfiltrate data from an organization,” and “steps are being taken to conceal their activity,” it said.

In the months before the election, [B]the epicenter of the cyberbreach was the server of the House Democratic Caucus, a sister group of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Authorities said they believe Imran secretly moved all the data of more than a dozen House members’ offices onto the caucus server.

The server may have been “used for nefarious purposes and elevated the risk that individuals could be reading and/or removing information,” an IG presentation said. The Awans logged into it 27 times a day, far more than any other computer they administered.

Imran’s most forceful advocate and longtime employer is Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who led the DNC until she resigned following a hack that exposed committee emails. Wikileaks published those emails, and they show that DNC staff summoned Imran when they needed her password.

Democrats have blamed the DNC hack for former Clinton’s loss in the 2016 presidential race.

Soon after the IG report, the entire House Democratic Caucus server was physically stolen, three government officials said, in what authorities took as evidence tampering. Then-Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra has refused to discuss the incident except to say that he would cooperate with authorities.
...
The separation between the legislative and executive branch has complicated the prosecution. Congressmen have refused to publicly address the IG’s findings, and Wasserman Schultz’s brother is a prosecutor in the office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, which is handling the case.
...
The suspects worked for foreign affairs committee members such as Ted Lieu of California and for intelligence committee members Joaquin Castro of Texas, Andre Carson of Indiana, and Jackie Speier of California. All have ignored repeated requests for comment.

You knew this was a big story when the news regarding it first started to break. The fact that we are nearing a year now of this story being widely public, albeit mostly disregarded by the masses and we are virtually no closer to having any form of justice, accountability, or further investigation into who and why such grand access was being given to Awan and his people is a testament to how much they fear this ever gaining real traction. The SES angle for that new judge is interesting indeed and I have had a hunch this is the angle where researchers need to pivot their research to.

I still sometimes wonder how many of these Awan type operations have been working at the highest levels of government. Are there just a few and we got lucky in catching the Awan division of the blackmailing and data manipulation schemes or are there too many at this point to count and Awan was nothing more than a needle in a haystack? I'm betting on the latter.

Yeah, this isn't the first time either. When they had a committee hearing on these hacking and data manipulation frauds with Tom Fitton and co. many months ago, they almost never mentioned Awan or his company's name at that point either. This seems to be the norm, not the exception, when anything involving these people is discussed in an "official" capacity. Controlled opposition, controlled investigations, controlled inspector generals, controlled "good guys". Who is protecting these people and why?

Would have to guess that this is being swept under the rug because it would reveal that the DNC was spying on Congress. The Democrat domination of the media and deep state means they do not want this revealed and they will do anything to cover up.

The fact that the Awans were Pakistani spies was just an unfortunate side matter in the eyes of the Democrat deep state. If it was simply a case of the Awans spying, then it would be out in the open.

The curious case of Imran Awan, which sounds like an international spy thriller, is entering its third act. Awan was a congressional IT aide to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., and he was finally fired just after he was arrested trying to fly to Pakistan last summer.
Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, were charged last summer with bank fraud. They now appear poised to strike a plea deal with the Department of Justice. A plea agreement hearing is set for July 3 before U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in Washington, Fox News reported (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/06/06/ex-dem-it-aide-imran-awan-poised-for-plea-deal-after-months-mysterious-delays.html) Wednesday.

Meanwhile, court hearings on the alleged bank fraud Imran Awan and Hina Alvi have been charged with have been delayed again and again. The last hearing took place in October 2017.
The delays came as Department of Justice prosecutors and defense attorneys have been fighting it out over a laptop found in a cubbyhole (what was once a phone booth) in congressional office building that has the username “REPDWS” (a computer used by Imran Awan that is the property of Rep. Wasserman Schultz’s office).

There is a lot more to come from this explosive case. Before this plea agreement hearing was set the biggest worry was that the government’s odd failure to prosecute Awan for alleged thefts of government equipment (some of which were found in a garage of one of Awan’s rental properties) and the many alleged national security violations pointed to a political cover-up.
Now it appears the plot is set for a riveting climax.

A 'conversation' with Imran's lawyer Chris Gowen

@1:53

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHuY4EHtLbc

Imran Awan’s attorney Chris Gowen is not the brightest bulb in the shed.

The attorney snapped Thursday, unleashed an epic meltdown that could jeopardize his client’s scheduled plea hearing on July 3.

Unglued is not a strong enough word to describe Gowen’s rant, triggered by Crowdsource the Truth editor Jason Goodman who recorded the phone call.

Gowen likely crossed the legal line, offering to sell Goodman evidence in the Awan case for $1,000. That offer came after Goodman declined to wager the same fee against Gowen to which Goodman responded asking the lawyer in the high-profile Awan case if he was a bookie.

Gowen, who previously worked for Bill Clinton, continued to spiral out of control:

“You all think Donald Trump is the hero,” he blurted out. “We’ll show you what Trump (inaudible).”

Gowen accused former U.S. Marine Andre Taggart — who notified the FBI after finding a box of Congressional Blackberry phones linked to Imran Awan — of being a criminal.

“I was totally shocked that a lawyer would twice try to entrap me in a $1000 interstate wager and try to sell me evidence,” Goodman said. “Is that even legal?”

The entire interview is noteworthy, if for no other reason than to listen to a defense lawyer descend into madness. But factually, Gowen remains quite challenged throughout.

But then again, who needs facts when your client is friends with the Clintons, the judge was appointed by Obama, the prosecutor is the brother of Congresswoman Deborah Wasserman Schultz who hired Awan and is linked to a House hacking scandal, and the crooked FBI investigated the case.

In fact, when a case is this rigged, you don’t even need a competent defense attorney.

A stunning video by investigative journalist Jason Goodman of Crowdsource the Truth reveals that Pakistani IT worker Imran Awan is reportedly answering phones at the office of his attorney, Chris Gowen.
Gowen notably worked for both Bill and Hillary Clinton (http://dailycaller.com/2017/07/26/imran-awans-lawyer-is-long-time-clinton-associate/) in various capacities.
https://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/inline-images/2017.07.26%20-%20Gowen_0_0.JPG

Gowen is a founding partner of Gowen, Rhoades, Winograd and Silva law firm, with offices in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, Penn.
His official bio on the firm’s web site notes that he “left the Public Defender’s office to work for former President William Jefferson Clinton and then-Senator Hillary Clinton. Chris was a fact checker for President Clinton’s memoir, ‘My Life.'”
“He also served as a traveling aid for President Clinton’s national and international trips. Chris finished his tenure with the Clintons by directing the advance operations for then-Senator Hillary Clinton during her 2008 presidential campaign.”
Conservative Review — which first reported Gowen’s extensive Clinton connections Wednesday — said they also include work for the Clinton Foundation and its Clinton Global Initiative and the Clinton Health Access Initiative. -Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/2017/07/26/imran-awans-lawyer-is-long-time-clinton-associate/)
In the video, Goodman can be seen visiting the law offices of Awan's attorney, where he asks to speak with the former House IT staffer. After his request was denied, Goodman asks: "Is Imran here?", to which the employee replies "Uh, he is, why?"
Goodman responds "'Cause it sounds like he's answering your phones," which drew the retort "What's your point?"
"Is he working for you?" asks Goodman, to which the employee whispers back "Go away."

Pakistani IT administrator Abid Awan (a.k.a. "Omar"), who was accused of improperly accessing Congressional computer networks with his brothers Imran and Jamal - is suspected of stealing tens of thousands of dollars of dollars of computer equipment in a "theft scheme," reports the Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/24/clare-cos-exposed-awan-theft-allegations/) citing multiple House staffers with knowledge of the situation.
https://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/inline-images/awan%20brother_0.png
According to a House document and interviews with Congressional staffers, Rep. Yvette Clarke's deputy chief, Wendy Anderson, walked in on Abid rummaging through the congresswoman's office "with new iPods and other equipment strewn around the room."
The Caller obtained a letter from House Chief Administrative Officer Phil Kiko, who testified in April that "the House IG discovered evidence of procurement fraud and irregularities [and] numerous violations of House security policies" by the Awan family - including submitting suspicious invoices to bill equipment to House offices.

In a letter written from Kiko and Seargeant-At-Armms Paul Irving to the House Administration, Anderson said that walking in on Awan "looked like Christmas with Apple TV's, iPods, etc."

Coming in on a Saturday and finding Omar in the office with equipment everywhere. She stated, ‘it looked like Christmas with Apple TV’s, iPods, etc. scattered around the room.’ She stated that Omar told her ‘these items were not her office’s equipment but they belonged to another office.’ She told him to get them out of her member’s office. -House Chief Administrative Office Phil Kiko (http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/24/clare-cos-exposed-awan-theft-allegations/)
Anderson ordered Abid out of Rep. Clarke's office, and then told Capitol Hill investigators that she suspected Abid and Clarke's chief of staff, Shelly Davis, were working together on a "theft scheme." Anderson also pushed for Abid's firing, however that did not occur until six months after Clarke acknowledged that $120,000 in equipment had gone missing - and not until after House investigators independently announced a review that might catch financial discrepancies.

House Chief Administrative Officer Phil Kiko testified in a public hearing in April that “the House IG discovered evidence of procurement fraud and irregularities [and] numerous violations of House security policies” by the Awans. The alleged procurement fraud included submitting suspicious invoices to bill equipment to House offices. -Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/24/clare-cos-exposed-awan-theft-allegations/)
Even then, reports The Caller, "Anderson told investigators she believed another top staffer in Clarke's office was subverting their efforts." After blowing the whistle on Abid, Anderson left her position four months later, taking a job with another congressional office (http://www.valdemings.com/news/representative-elect-val-demings-announces-staff-appointments-in-washington-and-orlando-offices).

Abid — known in the office as Omar — and his brothers, fellow IT workers Imran Awan and Jamal Awan, are suspected of making “unauthorized access” to congressional servers during the 2016 election and of running a theft scheme, according to the House Inspector General (IG). Together, the family had access to all the emails and files of 1 in 5 House Democrats. -Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/24/clare-cos-exposed-awan-theft-allegations/)
When Abid was eventually interviewed about the missing equipment, he blamed Clarke's staffers for some - and claimed that the office never received other equipment, according to a presentation (http://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4497879-IG-Briefing.html) by the House IG dated September 20, 2016 which notes.

75 pieces of equipment with a purchase price of $118,416 were recently written off the House inventory for a member because one of the subjects could not produce them

Shared employee stated that the items were never received, shouldn’t have been inventoried, or the staff lost the equipment
However, equipment could not be on inventory or have asset tag unless it had arrived in office and EIN [Equipment Identification Number, a form that must be signed for a piece of equipment to be paid for] had been signed
Missing equipment includes laptops, iPads, TVs, video conferencing equipment, and computers

While Clarke has refused to discuss the Awan case, she does frequently describe Donald Trump's presidency as the product of an "illegally hacked (http://observer.com/2017/02/brooklyn-congresswoman-trump-impeachment/), illegitimate election."
Anderson was promoted to Clarke's chief of staff soon after walking in on Abid Awan and the electronics near Christmas 2015, replacing Davis on February 11, 2016.

Once Anderson became responsible for the office’s finances, she found that Clarke’s office had for years been ordering abnormal quantities of equipment, much with seemingly dubious business value, she later told House investigators, according to multiple congressional officials with knowledge of the probe who spoke with TheDCNF. After some investigating, Anderson told investigators she believed Davis was working with Abid to steal taxpayer funds, the officials said. -Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/24/clare-cos-exposed-awan-theft-allegations/)
“She thought that Shelley and Omar had too tight of a relationship,” one said. “She’d been going through old email and could see that it basically smacked of Omar was ordering stuff for Shelley and there was no business reason.” Anderson gave House officials copies of those emails, the source told the Caller.
“She said to Abid, ‘I want to do an inventory of the office,’ and he couldn’t come up with $120,000 , so he said, ‘Oh I don’t know, people lost it,” said the source.
An attorney for Abid's brother Imran, Aaron Parr Page, told the [I]Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/2017/10/04/lawyer-for-it-aide-says-dem-congressmen-to-blame-for-falsified-spending-records/)'s Luke Rosiak last October that “An outgoing chief of staff who — I don’t remember the guy’s name off the top of my head, but I think there was potentially some issues there… There may be cases on Capitol Hill of other people — certainly not Imran — who are enriching themselves who are taking devices.”

By April 2016, Chief Administrative Officer Kiko independently noticed financial anomalies in multiple congressional offices that employed Abid. He told the Administration committee, and by September the committee’s top Democratic staffer, Jamie Fleet, told employing offices that authorities would be auditing financial records connected to the Awan family, a committee source told TheDCNF.
It was only then that Clarke’s office told the committee of the circumstances surrounding the missing equipment, and House authorities began working with Clarke’s office to investigate the Awans’ activities. -Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/24/clare-cos-exposed-awan-theft-allegations/)
Abid had passwords to Clarke's personal and professional accounts - including her credit cards. In order to prevent him from retaliating, days before he was fired, House security personnel changed Clarke's passwords as well as the lock on a storage locker she utilized.
“That night, after they told him that he was fired, Wendy went to the office late at night and Clarke’s office door was a little open and she felt like someone was on the other side of the door. She ran out of the office frightened,” the staffer told TheDCNF.
Then, in early 2017, Abid was hired by Democratic Congressmembers Stephanie Murphy (FL), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE) and Darren Soto (FL) - however Awan and his family was banned from the House network in February 2017.

The Department of Justice has not charged (http://dailycaller.com/2017/11/29/18-months-in-dem-it-aides-not-charged-with-hill-crimes-despite-red-flags/) Davis or Abid with any crime. TheDCNF has no way of corroborating whether what Anderson told investigators is true. However, the voluminous evidence the House IG possessed, combined with the lack of charges, has led some Republicans to allege (http://fullmeasure.news/news/cover-story/cybersecurity-04-26-2018) a cover-up. -Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/24/clare-cos-exposed-awan-theft-allegations/)
“The FBI has had the opportunity to have those invoices presented to them, and each time they have instructed, ‘Don’t bring (https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4733428/rep-louie-gohmert-slams-doj-handling-imran-awan-house-cyberbreach) any of those documents,'” said House Judiciary Committee member Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX) last week on the House Floor - quoting what the FBI told him about the case. “They continue to report … ‘We’ve still found no evidence’ … Why? Because they’ve instructed, ‘We don’t want to see those documents.'”

Ex-Dem IT aide Imran Awan poised for plea deal, after months of mysterious delays (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/06/06/ex-dem-it-aide-imran-awan-poised-for-plea-deal-after-months-mysterious-delays.html)

Imran Awan, the former IT aide to congressional Democrats whose federal court case has drawn the interest of President Trump, is poised to strike a plea deal with prosecutors, court filings indicate.

A Tuesday filing said a plea agreement hearing for Awan and his wife Hina Alvi has been set for July 3 before U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in Washington.

The filing did not reveal any details about the terms of the apparent agreement. But in court documents last month, prosecutors hinted that a deal could be in the works.

“The parties are currently exploring a possible resolution of this matter,” prosecutors wrote. “Therefore, the parties are requesting additional time in which to explore that resolution.”

Awan’s attorney, Christopher J. Gowen, nevertheless kept the door open Wednesday to the possibility that a deal might not be finalized.

“A plea happens in court,” Gowen said in an email to Fox News. “A plea does not happen outside of court. We anticipate that by July 3rd we will either enter a plea or the case will be set for trial.”

The Department of Justice won't prosecute Imran Awan, a former IT administrator for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and dozens of other Democrats, for allegations of cybersecurity breaches, theft and potential espionage, as part of a plea agreement one one count of unrelated bank fraud.

And while ample evidence of potential crimes were found by the House Inspector General, the DOJ says they found no evidence of wrongdoing.

The Department of Justice said it “found no evidence that [Imran] illegally removed House data from the House network or from House Members’ offices, stole the House Democratic Caucus Server, stole or destroyed House information technology equipment, or improperly accessed or transferred government information.”
That statement appears to take issue — without explaining how — with the findings of the House’s Nancy Pelosi-appointed inspector general, its top law enforcement official, the sergeant-at-arms, and the statements of multiple Democratic aides.
In September 2016, the House Office of Inspector General gave House leaders a presentation that alleged that Alvi, Imran, brothers Abid Awan and Jamal Awan, and a friend were logging into the servers of members who had previously fired him and funneling data off the network. It said evidence “suggests steps are being taken to conceal their activity” and that their behavior mirrored a “classic method for insiders to exfiltrate data from an organization.”
Server logs show, it said, that Awan family members made “unauthorized access” to congressional servers in violation of House rules by logging into the servers of members who they didn’t work for. -Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/2018/07/03/awan-cybersecurity-not-charged/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=site-share)

We're supposed to believe that Awan wired hundreds of thousands of dollars to Pakistan, tried to flee the country, was kept on DWS's payroll...

All for the no-jail offense of lying on a home equity application? pic.twitter.com/Ta7boWELut (https://t.co/Ta7boWELut)
— Techno Fog (@Techno_Fog) July 3, 2018 (https://twitter.com/Techno_Fog/status/1014228561266278400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) Awan was arrested at Dulles airport while attempting to flee the country - one day after reports emerged that the FBI had seized a number of "smashed hard drives" and other computer equipment from his residence. While only charged with bank fraud, there is ample evidence that the Awans were spying on members of Congress through their access to highly-sensitive information on computers, servers and other electronic devices belonging to members of Congress.

Repeat - there has been NO investigation of the serious allegations about Imran Awan.

No proof at all AND we know a number of key people have never even been spoken to investigators.

Ask @lukerosiak (https://twitter.com/lukerosiak?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)
— Lee Stranahan (@stranahan) July 3, 2018 (https://twitter.com/stranahan/status/1014183830658445312?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) Luke Rosiak of the Daily Caller has compiled the most comprehensive coverage of the Awan situation from start to finish - and outlines exactly why the Awans' conduct warranted serious inquiry.

On Feb. 3, 2017, Paul Irving, the House’s top law enforcement officer, wrote in a letter (http://dailycaller.com/2018/07/02/awan-memo-server-vanished/) to the Committee on House Administration that soon after it became evidence, the server went “missing.”
The letter continued: “Based upon the evidence gathered to this point, we have concluded the employees are an ongoing and serious risk to the House of Representatives, possibly threatening the integrity of our information systems.”
Imran, Abid, Jamal, Alvi and a friend were banned from the House network the same day Kiko sent the letter.
The alleged wrongdoing consisted of two separate issues.
The first was the cybersecurity issues. In an April 2018 hearing (http://dailycaller.com/2018/04/16/congress-failed-supervise-it-threats/) spurred by the Awan case, Chief Administrative Officer Phil Kiko testified (http://redirect.viglink.com/?format=go&jsonp=vglnk_153063547519012&key=e7609c039c08d3ae00aebd97e6f0bffd&libId=jj4phiai010110e3000DAlcgacl5a&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fdailycaller.com%2F2018%2F04%2F16% 2Fcongress-failed-supervise-it-threats%2F&v=1&out=http%3A%2F%2Fdocs.house.gov%2Fmeetings%2FHA%2F HA00%2F20180412%2F108051%2FHHRG-115-HA00-Wstate-KikoP-20180412.pdf&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fs3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com%2Fdailycaller%2Fawan%2Fawanseries. html&title=Hearing%20Details%20Congress%27%20Cyber%20Fa ilures%20%7C%20The%20Daily%20Caller&txt=testified%20that%20experts%20found%20%E2%80%9C two%20dozen%E2%80%9D%20problems): “The bookend to the outside threat is the insider threat. Tremendous efforts are dedicated to protecting the House against these outside threats, however these efforts are undermined when these employees do not adhere to and thumb their nose at our information security policy, and that’s a risk in my opinion we cannot afford.”
The second was a suspected theft scheme. Wendy Anderson, a former chief of staff for Rep. Yvette Clarke, told House investigators she believed Abid was working with ex-Clarke aide Shelley Davis (http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/24/clare-cos-exposed-awan-theft-allegations/) to steal equipment, and described coming in on a Saturday to find so many pieces of equipment, including iPods and Apple TVs, that it “looked like Christmas.”
Meanwhile, as we noted i (https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-06-07/trump-blasts-awan-plea-deal-says-democrat-it-scandal-key-corruption-brings-stolen)n June, the judge in the Awan case, Tanya Chutkan, was appointed to the D.C. US District Court by President Obama on June 5, 2014, after Chutkan had contributed to him for years.
https://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/inline-images/chutkan.jpg
https://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/inline-images/chutkan1.JPG Opensecrets.org (https://www.opensecrets.org/donor-lookup/results?name=tanya+chutkan)Prior to her appointment to the District Court, she was a partner at law firm Boies Schiller & Flexner (BSF) where she represented scandal-plagued biotechnology company Theranos - which hired Fusion GPS to threaten the news media. Because of this, Chutkan had to recuse herself from two cases (http://dailycaller.com/2017/12/12/federal-judge-recuses-herself-from-a-second-fusion-gps-case/) involving Fusion GPS.
Meanwhile, BSF attorney and crisis management expert Karen Dunn - who prepped Hillary Clinton for debates (https://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/hillary-clinton-debate-prep-228558) and served as Associate White House Counsel to Obama - represents Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin (http://archive.is/dLwsm). Another BSF attorney, Dawn Smalls (https://www.bsfllp.com/lawyers/dawn-l-smalls.html), was John Podesta's assistant while he was Obama's Chief of Staff. And if you still had doubts over their politics, BSF also republished an article critical of Donald Trump (https://www.bsfllp.com/news-events/to-my-friends-who-support-trump-because-hes-pro-israel.html) in their "News & Events" section.
In short, the Judge in the Awan case - appointed by Obama after years of contributing to him, was a partner at a very Clinton-friendly law firm. It should also be noted that Obama appointed Chutkan's husband, Peter Krauthammer, to the D.C. Superior Court in 2011.
The left has, of course, seized upon the plea deal to suggest that there was no wrongdoing.

Imagine being so dumb that you think a plea deal implies the defendant wasn’t really guilty of the other charges https://t.co/3IECc8zfRq

Awan has dirt on a lot of people via the IT systems. He was also involved in a conspiracy at the highest levels of the DNC.

He either skates on charges, or he commits suicide with two shots to the back of the head.

A secret memo marked “URGENT” detailed how the House Democratic Caucus’s server went “missing” soon after it became evidence in a cybersecurity probe. The secret memo also said more than “40 House offices may have been victims of IT security violations.”
In the memo, Congress’s top law enforcement official, Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving, along with Chief Administrative Officer Phil Kiko, wrote, “We have concluded that the employees [Democratic systems administrator Imran Awan and his family] are an ongoing and serious risk to the House of Representatives, possibly threatening the integrity of our information systems and thereby members’ capacity to serve constituents.”
The memo, addressed to the Committee on House Administration (CHA) and dated Feb. 3, 2017, was recently reviewed and transcribed by The Daily Caller News Foundation. The letter bolsters TheDCNF’s previous reporting about the missing (http://dailycaller.com/2017/12/11/becerra-tried-to-block-server-admin-over-red-flags-but-logins-continued-with-muted-reaction/) server (http://dailycaller.com/2017/09/12/exclusive-dws-it-guy-was-banned-from-house-after-trying-to-hide-secret-server/) and evidence (http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/24/clare-cos-exposed-awan-theft-allegations/) of fraud (http://dailycaller.com/2017/08/20/democrats-office-approved-120k-write-off-linked-to-awan-brothers/)on Capitol Hill.

It details how the caucus server, run by then-caucus Chairman Rep. Xavier Becerra, was secretly copied by authorities after the House Inspector General (IG) identified suspicious activity on it, but the Awans’ physical access was not blocked.
But after, the report reads, the server appears to have been secretly replaced with one that looked similar.
The memo called for firing the Pakistani-born aides, revoking all their computer accounts, and changing the locks on any door they had access to.
Rep. Louie Gohmert — a Texas Republican on the House Committee on the Judiciary who has done oversight work on the case — said (https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4733428/rep-louie-gohmert-slams-doj-handling-imran-awan-house-cyberbreach) the missing server contained copies of Congress members’ emails.
“They put 40 members of Congress’s data on one server … That server, with that serial number, has disappeared,” he said.

Multiple sources connected to the investigation told TheDCNF that shortly after an IG report came out identifying the House Democratic Caucus server as key evidence in a criminal probe, the evidence was stolen.
“They [the Awans] deliberately turned over a fake server (http://dailycaller.com/2017/09/12/exclusive-dws-it-guy-was-banned-from-house-after-trying-to-hide-secret-server/)” to falsify evidence, one official close to the CHA alleged. “It was a breach. The data was completely out of [members’] possession.”
The six-page letter says:

• In September of 2016 … the CHA and [IG] briefed the former Chairman of the Democratic Caucus about suspicious activity related to their server that the [IG] identified. As a result, the former Chairman of the Democratic Caucus directed the CAO to copy the data from their server and two computers.
• The CHA directed the IG to refer the matter to the US Capitol Police. The USCP initiated an investigation that continues to this day.
• In late 2016, the former Chairman of the Democratic Caucus announced his intention to resign from Congress to assume a new position. The CAO and [sergeant-at-arms] worked with the Chairman to account for his inventory, including the one server.
• While reviewing the inventory, the CAO discovered that the serial number of the server did not match that of the one imaged in September. [Investigators] also discovered that the server in question [the replacement server] was still operating under the employee’s control, contrary to the explicit instructions of the former chairman to turn over all equipment and fully cooperate with the inquiry and investigation. [A House source said the “employee” was Abid Awan.]
• The USCP interviewed relevant staff regarding the missing server.
• On January 24, 2017, the CAO acquired the [replacement] server from the control of the employees and transferred that server to the USCP.
President Donald Trump referenced the Democratic Caucus’ missing server in a tweet (http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/07/trump-awan-scandal-corruption/). But because the letter to the CHA was kept secret, many news outlets have not grasped that the House’s top cop documented a “missing server” connected to the Democratic Caucus.
The timeline laid out in the letter also shows that Becerra — now California’s Democratic attorney general — failed to ensure that the Awans didn’t have access to House computer systems during the 2016 election, which was wrought with cybersecurity scandals.
An IG presentation from September 2016 (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4497879-IG-Briefing.html) shows that Becerra knew of problems months before the server disappeared.
“The Caucus Chief of Staff requested one of the shared employees to not provide IT services or access their computers,” it read. “This shared employee continued.” It’s unclear why that request was not granted or why it was a request rather than an order.
A House official close to the probe said the employee was Abid, who was not on Becerra or the Caucus’s payroll. The official said Becerra Chief of Staff Sean McCluskie apparently knew Abid was accessing Caucus servers. According to payroll records, Abid’s sister-in-law, Hina Alvi, was the Caucus’ systems administrator.
The Awans’ continued physical access to Becerra’s equipment after red flags emerged enabled the server to disappear after it became evidence, House officials close to the investigation told TheDCNF.
Becerra has refused to comment, citing an ongoing criminal investigation.
The February 2017 memo itemizes “numerous and egregious violations of House IT security” by members of the Awan family, including using Congress members’ usernames and “the unauthorized storage of sensitive House information outside the House.”
“These employees accessed user accounts and computers for offices that did not employ them, without the knowledge and permission of the impacted Member’s office,” it said, adding, “4 of the employees accessed the Democratic Caucus computers 5,735 times.” More than 100 office computers were open to access from people not on the office’s staff, it said.
Chris Gowen — a former aide to Hillary Clinton who is now serving as Imran’s attorney — told TheDCNF, “There is no missing server and never was.”
He didn’t provide any support for his claim, which is contrary to evidence Kiko and Irving presented to Congress.
The memo said the CHA possesses voluminous evidence, including, “Interview notes with House Members’ Chiefs of Staff,” and “Logon activity and computer access logs.” Prosecutors have not brought charges.

Prosecutors debunk Trump-fueled conspiracy theory about former Wasserman Schultz aide https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/prosecutors-debunk-trump-fueled-conspiracy-theory-about-former-wasserman-schultz-n888641

The ex-staffer pleaded guilty to lying on a home loan application — completely unrelated to his work as a congressional staffer.

https://media2.s-nbcnews.com/j/newscms/2018_27/1637431/160725-schultz-1408_bf004fa296e4ec391f7555d6dedaaed1.fit-2000w.jpg

Federal prosecutors on Tuesday publicly debunked conspiracy theories pushed by President Donald Trump and right-wing media that a former Democratic aide charged with bank fraud was actually a foreign spy trying to steal government secrets.

In a plea deal with Imran Awan, who worked as an information technology aide for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., and other Democratic lawmakers, prosecutors said they had conducted "a thorough investigation" into claims that Awan stole information from government servers on behalf of another country while working for House Democrats, but reported that they found no evidence to support the conspiracy theories.

"The Government agrees that the public allegations that (Awan) stole U.S. House of Representatives equipment and engaged in unauthorized or illegal conduct involving House computer systems do not form the basis of any conduct relevant to the determination of the sentence in this case," prosecutors said.

David Damron, a spokesman for Wasserman Schultz, said on Tuesday that the lawmaker was pleased with the result of the investigation and that prosecutors had publicly shot down the conspiracy theories.

"We rely on our justice system to produce a fair result, after a considered, objective review," Damron said in a statement. "That role is even more important at a time when Donald Trump and his allies spread dangerous distortions with the intent of falsely smearing his political opponents."

The claims that Awan was improperly siphoning government data while working as a Democratic aide and storing it off-site on behalf of another country began on internet forums and was later spread by right-wing news outlets. The allegations then gained even more steam after Trump tweeted about the case twice earlier this year.

Trump referred to Awan as the "Pakistani mystery man" in an April tweet attacking Democrats and Wasserman Shultz.

"Just heard the Campaign was sued by the Obstructionist Democrats. This can be good news in that we will now counter for the DNC Server that they refused to give to the FBI, the Debbie Wasserman Schultz Servers and Documents held by the Pakistani mystery man and Clinton Emails," the president wrote.

In June, Trump tweeted that the government "must not let Awan ... off the hook" and suggested the Democrats' server was missing.

"Our Justice Department must not let Awan & Debbie Wasserman Schultz off the hook. The Democrat I.T. scandal is a key to much of the corruption we see today. They want to make a 'plea deal' to hide what is on their Server. Where is Server? Really bad!" Trump tweeted.

Officials said Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, defrauded the Congressional Federal Credit Union for $165,000 by lying on a home equity loan application, according to federal court documents. He was arrested last year at at Dulles International Airport trying to fly to Lahore, Pakistan.

Awan, 38, pleaded guilty to lying on the loan application and likely faces six months or less in jail. His wife left the U.S. last year.

To probe the conspiracy theories, prosecutors said they seized the server used by the House Democratic caucus, along with computers and other electronic devices and performed a forensic analysis. They also interviewed roughly 40 witnesses, according to the plea agreement.

"The Government has uncovered no evidence that your client violated federal law with respect to the House computer systems," says the plea agreement, addressed to Awan's lawyer. "Particularly, the Government has found no evidence that your client illegally removed House data from the House network or from House Members’ offices, stole the House Democratic Caucus Server, stole or destroyed House information technology equipment, or improperly accessed or transferred government information, including classified or sensitive information."

Chris Gowen, Awan's lawyer, blasted the president and the conservative media in a statement.

"This case illustrates the real and tragic human consequences of a right-wing media operation that today goes far beyond mere political opportunism," Gowen said. "There has never been any missing server, smashed hard drives, blackmailed members of Congress, or breach of classified information."

He added, "Like so many irresponsible, misleading, or simply untrue tweets from the president, this allegation displayed a complete lack of respect for law enforcement. The president obviously knew from the beginning of this investigation that law enforcement was in possession of the House Democratic server."

Imran Awan, the former IT aide to congressional Democrats including Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, avoided jail time Tuesday. (Reuters)

Imran Awan, the former IT aide to congressional Democrats whose federal bank fraud case has drawn the interest of top Republicans, avoided jail time Tuesday after the defense complained about disparaging comments made against the defendant by President Trump and others.

During a hearing Tuesday in Washington, U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan sentenced Awan to three months of supervised release plus time served. Chutkan, who cited “unfounded allegations” against Awan, also did not impose a fine.

Awan, who pleaded guilty in July to making a false statement on a loan application, delivered an emotional statement vowing: “I promise you this second chance will not go to waste.”

The prosecution, in a recent sentencing memorandum, did not advocate jail time for Awan.

Federal guidelines recommended a sentence of zero to six months in jail, followed by two to five years of supervised release. Prosecutors said they did not oppose a noncustodial sentence.

The case had generated great interest from conservatives, who suggested Awan could have been involved in a cyber breach operation. Awan, who was arrested last summer at Dulles International Airport before trying to board a flight to Pakistan, worked as a technology employee to top Democrats, including Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

But prosecutors said during July’s plea hearing that they investigated allegations of misconduct by Awan while on the job in Congress and said they "uncovered no evidence" that Awan "violated federal law with respect to the House computer systems."

Awan admitted in July’s plea deal to working to obtain home equity lines of credit from the Congressional Federal Credit Union in December 2016 by giving false information about a property. As part of the deal, the prosecution dropped fraud charges against Awan's wife, Hina Alvi.

In a sentencing memorandum filed this week, Awan’s attorney, Christopher J. Gowen, requested a sentence of time served plus a fine, citing “the costs incurred by Imran throughout this case, the nature of the offense, his substantial cooperation, the positions taken by the United States and the presentence investigator, and the conduct of several government officials, including the President of the United States.”

Trump has referred to Awan multiple times as “the Pakistani mystery man,” and mentioned him during his joint press conference this summer in Helsinki with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Awan was born in Pakistan, but came to the U.S. with his family when he was a teenager.

“Trump is not the only sitting government official who has indulged in false or outrageously speculative and racially-tinged attacks on Imran for political benefit,” Gowen wrote in the court document, taking aim at Republican lawmakers Louie Gohmert of Texas, Steve King of Iowa and Ron DeSantis of Florida.

Suspicions about Awan’s activities were raised after revelations that Philip G. Kiko, the chief administrative officer of the House, said in April that the House’s inspector general “discovered evidence of procurement fraud and irregularities” and “numerous violations of House security policies” by Awan and other IT employees connected to him.

Prosecutors said the government conducted a “thorough investigation of those allegations” but determined federal charges were not warranted. The case was investigated by the U.S. Capitol Police and the FBI’s Washington field office.

Before his arrest, Awan and other IT aides for House Democrats originally had been on investigators’ radar for months over concerns of alleged equipment theft, access to sensitive computer systems and more.

The government interviewed 40 witnesses, took custody of the House Democratic Caucus server and other devices, reviewed electronic communications between House employees and questioned Awan during multiple voluntary interviews, the plea deal said.

A grand jury in August 2017 first returned an indictment in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia charging Awan and his wife with federal bank fraud.

It’s not the only high-profile bank fraud case with a political connection: a federal jury in Alexandria, Virginia is deliberating in the case of Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort. Manafort has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and her husband terminated two Bank of the West loans on the day that her IT employee Imran Awan left Wasserman-Schultz’s laptop in a Capitol Hill office building for law enforcement authorities to find. Imran Awan was charged with bank fraud for receiving a house loan from the Congressional Credit Union on a house that he did not own.
Big League Politics has exclusively obtained financial records and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings documenting the transactions of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and her husband.
Wasserman-Schultz owed money to Bank of the West on a five-year loan arrangement set to expire on April 20, 2020. But Wasserman Schultz and her husband cancelled the loans — presumably by paying cash — on April 6, 2017, the same day that Imran Awan’s backpack was found in the Rayburn building shortly after midnight.

“U.S. Capitol Police found the laptop after midnight April 6, 2017, in a tiny room that formerly served as a phone booth in the Rayburn House Office Building, according to a Capitol Police report reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group. Alongside the laptop were a Pakistani ID card, copies of Awan’s driver’s license and congressional ID badge, and letters to the U.S. attorney. Police also found notes in a composition notebook marked “attorney-client privilege.” The laptop had the username “RepDWS,” even though the Florida Democrat and former Democratic National Committee chairman previously said it was Awan’s computer and that she had never even seen it.”

The Daily Mail reported: (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4800878/IT-aide-ex-DNC-chair-Debbie-Wasserman-Schultz-indicted.html) “On July 24, [2017] he [Awan] was arrested on suspicion of banking fraud for allegedly taking out a $165,000 loan with his wife on a house that they did not live in and sending the money back to Pakistan…In March, Awan’s wife was fired from her job working for Rep. Gregory Meeks. She fled the country shortly afterwards with the couple’s two daughters, a haul of luggage and $12,000 in cash but was never arrested.”
Below, we present official record of two Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings, showing that Wasserman-Schultz terminated her 2015 loan on April 6, 2017. We have redacted all addresses and telephone numbers from this report.
https://bigleaguepolitics.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Screen-Shot-2018-10-11-at-3.38.08-AM-e1539243647737-1200x1118.png
Records show that Wasserman-Schultz and her husband purchased a $308,000 house in October 2015. In a different transaction, Bank of the West were lien holders and Wasserman-Schultz and her husband owned the title on a property purchased from Norton Motorcycles. The color of the motorcycle listed is “UNKNOWN.” The title for this motorcycle was transferred to a Timothy William Lowell on June 27, 2017.

A former FBI surveillance agent who worked under Robert Mueller tells Big League Politics:
“Here is one of the reasons Debbie Wasserman Schultz freaked out when her laptop was purposely left in public by the IT Specialist Imran Awan on 04/06/2017:
Debbie and her husband had a strange loan arrangement with “Bank of the West.”
Debbie and her husband got some kind of sweet heart deal loan on 04/20/2015 but they abruptly closed the loan on 04/06/2017…
Imran Awan after knowing he was under suspicion, conveniently left a backpack with copies of his ID, a note stating “client attorney privilege” and a laptop with userID “repDWS” in a place only the cleaning crew would find after hours. The laptop was found at approximately 12:20 am on 04/06/2017. Later that day Debbie and her husband “terminate” the UCC filing with Bank of the West.
Obviously Awan knows Debbie’s secrets and wanted to leverage them. It’s convenient that Debbie Wasserman Schultz is listed by ABC News as one of the five poorest congressman but she’s got enough money to pay a loan off instantly.”

Bank of the West is new to Florida. The San Francisco-based bank, which is owned by the French firm BNP Paribas, only filed as a corporation in Florida on July 8, 2013. Their Florida branch is based in Tallahassee, where Andrew Gillum has served as mayor since 2014.

Awan has dirt on a lot of people via the IT systems. He was also involved in a conspiracy at the highest levels of the DNC.

He either skates on charges, or he commits suicide with two shots to the back of the head.

And Imran Awan will happily skate away...

Meanwhile, true crimes go uninvestigated, and unpunished...

Some conspiracy theories describe actual conspiracies. And ignoring the evidence can put a nation in harm’s way. Consider the possibility that an extended Pakistani family used their employment as cybersecurity specialists to steal emails, documents and equipment from dozens of members of the House of Representatives and then transfer them to outside parties, including the government of Pakistan.
...
To their great debit, the FBI, the Justice Department, Capitol Police and lawmakers in both parties ignored the danger signs, and often provided cover for the culprits. Welcome to the Deep State.

It is overwhelmingly accepted among Democrats that Donald Trump and certain among his top aides conspired with Russian intelligence agents via social media to “steal” the 2016 presidential election from Hillary Clinton. Yet a special investigation headed by former FBI Director Robert Mueller has yet to turn up evidence of such a plot. Ironically, during this time, this embedded opposition willfully ignored national security issues created by a tightly-knit, unvetted group of Pakistani immigrants working on Capitol Hill.
...
Imran Awan was the lead cybersecurity geek for well over 40 Democrats in the House of Representatives. Those jobs provided ample cover for extracurricular behavior. With access to all emails and files of these lawmakers and staffers, they had potential dirt on a lot of people.
...
From any angle, the Awans appeared to be thieves. But it was likely they were something more. Most of official Washington, however, sung the same refrain: This was theft and nothing more.
...
The FBI was no more committed to digging for the truth than were House Democrats. Rosiak reveals throughout the book how the bureau did nothing, even given mounting evidence of a conspiracy. FBI agents managed to ignore what Rosiak had discovered, such as Imran Awan’s receipt of payments from foreign officials while working for members of the House Intelligence Committee and his receipt of payments from a foreign government minister with ties to the terrorist group Hezbollah that had been laundered through Awan’s fake car dealership. FBI agents didn’t even bother to interview a family relative who had sworn that large quantities of House electronic equipment were being shipped to Pakistani officials.
...
The Department of Justice also proved useless. The FBI and federal prosecutors actually initiated the case in the waning weeks of the Obama administration. A December 6, 2016 FBI memo indicated an intent to probe the Awans. But as Democratic Party leaders came to see the investigation as adversely affecting their fortunes, they pressured DOJ to backtrack, which the DOJ did. The situation did not change in the Trump era. Attorney General Jeff Sessions seemed oblivious to the motives of partisan Democrats nominally under his command.
...
House Republicans, like their Democratic colleagues, proved willfully blind to reality. Rep. Gregg Harper, R-Miss., chairman of the Committee on House Administration, continuously deferred to the judgment of Justice Department rather than inform fellow Republicans of the “ongoing” (and hence secret) investigation. House Speaker Paul Ryan was especially contemptuous of any suggestion that the Awans posed a security threat; he hid all details from members of his party save for Harper.
...
The final report, released in January 2018, was damning. Without any question, said the office, Imran and four other persons inappropriately accessed House servers and moved data to a House Democratic Caucus server which “disappeared” despite ongoing Capitol Police monitoring. The Awans also allegedly impersonated 15 House members for whom they did not work, and the House Democratic Caucus, to gain access to the system. And they engaged in grossly excessive login activity, a pattern that “suggests steps are being taken to conceal their activity.”

These were, or were indicative of, federal crimes. So why weren’t there indictments or congressional hearings? The reason, in a word, was fear. People in a position to do something were afraid that speaking out publicly in any way would cost them their career. Congressional Democrats and their allies made every effort to thwart investigations into espionage. Two persons above all others, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Christopher Gowen, the lead defense lawyer for Imran Awan, were the Awans’ protectors. And they weren’t above using intimidation to make their point.

Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz was vitriolic in her defense of the Awans, dismissing any insinuation of espionage as a “witch hunt.” Even evidence pointing to Imran Awan as having stolen a laptop belonging to her did not dampen her enthusiasm. In one telling incident, Congresswoman Schultz put her finger to the chest of House Chief Administrative Officer Phil Kiko, a Republican, demanding that he drop his investigation of the Awans or risk termination and calling him an Islamophobe for good measure. The intimidation worked.
...
The story did not have a happy ending, at least by the standards of anyone concerned about national security and rule of law. On August 21, 2018, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan sentenced Imran Awan to three months of supervised release, crediting him with time served; sentencing guidelines had called for a two-to-five-year prison sentence. As per the plea deal, no restitution would be required. Sounding more like a defense lawyer than a judge, Chutkan denounced the “unbelievable onslaught of scurrilous media attacks” and “baseless accusations” that were “lobbed at [Awan] from the highest branches of government.” She added that Imran Awan had “suffered sufficiently” and “has paid a price that he will continue to pay.” Judge Chutkan even wished him a “good Eid” [Note: The Feast of Eid is a Muslim holiday.] when it was all over. Reeking of disingenuous humility, the well-coached Awan declared: “What those people did and all the stories they wrote, I forgive them for what they did. I’m grateful to be here in this country and whatever it has given me.” His wife got off with a tiny tap on the wrist. After being was sentenced to a weekly in-person briefing with a probation officer, Chutkan waived that in favor of a weekly phone call. Imran’s brothers went unscathed, as did Natalia Sova and Rao Abbas.

AT&T employees took bribes to unlock millions of smartphones, and to install malware and unauthorized hardware on the company’s network, the Department of Justice said yesterday. (https://www.zdnet.com/article/at-t-employees-took-bribes-to-plant-malware-on-the-companys-network/) Interesting, like the Awan case in Congress, these were Pakistanis running this, and one is believed to be dead already. Ostensibly this was to unlock iPhones, but they had full access via rogue wireless access points to AT&T’s internal networks controlling their whole operation. I wonder if they were flooding the US with rooted and hacked iPhone via eBay, or something, looking to see what they would get. Or they could even have been supplying Awan with the phones he was giving congress people.

Judicial Watch announced today that a federal court ordered a hearing for Friday, December 13, 2019, on the Congressional Democrat IT (information technology) scandal involving the Awan brothers. The hearing was ordered (https://www.judicialwatch.org/documents/jw-v-doj-awan-hearing-order-02563/) in accordance with a November 2018 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit (https://www.judicialwatch.org/press-releases/judicial-watch-sues-doj-for-records-of-investigations-into-the-awan-brothers-congressional-democrat-it-scandal/), which was filed after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) failed to respond adequately to two separate FOIA requests (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (https://www.judicialwatch.org/documents/jw-v-doj-awan-bros-complaint-02563/) (No. 1:18-cv-02563)).
Judicial Watch’s first request, filed on May 26, 2017, sought:

All records related to any investigations or preliminary investigations involving former congressional IT support staffers Abid Awan, Imran Awan, Jamal Awan, and Hina R. Alvi. As part of this request, searches should of records [sic] should include, but not be limited to, the FBI automated indices, its older manual indices, and its Electronic Surveillance (ELSUR) Data Management System (EDMS), as well as cross-referenced files.
All records of communication sent to or from FBI employees, officials or contractors involving the subjects in bullet item 1.

The timeframe for the requested records is May 2015 to the present.
Judicial Watch’s second request, submitted on July 3, 2018, sought:

All records related to any investigations or preliminary investigations involving former congressional IT support staffers Abid Awan, Imran Awan, Jamal Awan, Hina R. Alvi and Rao Abbas. As part of this request, searches of records should include, but not be limited to, the FBI automated indices, its older manual indices, and its Electronic Surveillance (ELSUR) Data Management System (EDMS), as well as cross-referenced files.
All records of communications, including but not limited to emails (whether on .gov or non-.gov email accounts), text messages, instant chats or messages on the Lync system, sent to or from FBI employees, officials or contractors involving the Awan brothers, Ms. Alvi and Mr. Abbas. Records of communications searched should include but not be limited to those between FBI officials, employees and contractors and officials with the Capitol Police, the Office of the Inspector General of the House, and the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer of the House.

In August 2019, the DOJ told the court that it would begin producing records by November 5, 2019. After producing no records, on November 13, 2019 the agency told Judicial Watch that it was having “technical difficulties,” and in a recent email claimed that “difficulties with the production remain.”
In a joint status report (https://www.judicialwatch.org/documents/jw-v-doj-awan-status-report-02563/) filed on December 5, 2019, Judicial Watch reported to the court that the DOJ claimed in a phone call that it was now unable to produce any records to either of the FOIA requests “because the agency was waiting for some unspecified action by Judge [Tanya S.] Chutkan in some other matter so as to avoid having to produce records in this case.” In that same report the DOJ told the court that Judge Chutkan is “presiding over a related sealed criminal matter” that prohibits the government from releasing the requested FOIA information. Judge Tanya Chutkan:

The judge in the Awan case, Tanya Chutkan, was appointed to the D.C. US District Court by President Obama on June 5, 2014, after Chutkan had contributed to him for years.

Prior to her appointment to the District Court, she was a partner at law firm Boies Schiller & Flexner (BSF) where she represented scandal-plagued biotechnology company Theranos - which hired Fusion GPS to threaten the news media. Because of this, Chutkan had to recuse herself from two cases involving Fusion GPS.

Meanwhile, BSF attorney and crisis management expert Karen Dunn - who prepped Hillary Clinton for debates and served as Associate White House Counsel to Obama - represents Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin. Another BSF attorney, Dawn Smalls, was John Podesta's assistant while he was Obama's Chief of Staff. And if you still had doubts over their politics, BSF also republished an article critical of Donald Trump in their "News & Events" section.

In short, the Judge in the Awan case - appointed by Obama after years of contributing to him, was a partner at a very Clinton-friendly law firm. It should also be noted that Obama appointed Chutkan's husband, Peter Krauthammer, to the D.C. Superior Court in 2011.

Court-shopping is rigging the system to get one’s legal case steered to the judge most likely to rule in one’s favor.

It is only illegal if caught.

And if the opposing party objects to it.

Is this how Judge Chutkan got steered the Awan and Fusion GPS cases too?

Is that cause for a reversal?

How does the Justice Department keep on getting away with it?

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-FL, has a brother, Steven, who works as a U.S. Attorney in the Prosecutors’ Office in the District of Columbia.

She is former campaign chairman for the DNC and the Hillary Clinton Campaign for President.

Wasserman Schultz is also the one who gave her passwords to Imran Awan.

Is that how the Butina, Awan, and Fusion GPS cases got “assigned” to Judge Chutkan?

What does this say about the rest of the D.C. District Court?

Interesting how this hasn't been brought up in either the media or alt-media. However, if the ISI had something, it doesn't seem that they have used it to their advantage.

Look up George Webb on youtube he is covering all this stuff but, most people either don't know or don't care....
