A Republican congressman plans to introduce a bill Monday that would threaten huge fines and prison time for elected officials accused of sheltering illegal immigrant criminals from deportation, in the wake of the not-guilty verdict in the Kate Steinle murder trial.
Indiana Rep. Todd Rokita’s bill is one of the most aggressive pieces of legislation to date aimed at sanctuary city policies, going beyond the Justice Department’s threat to cut off grants to those jurisdictions.
“Politicians don’t get to pick and choose what laws to comply with,” Rokita told Fox News. “Americans are dying because politicians sworn to uphold the law refuse to do so.”

Isn't President Trump currently providing sanctuary to around a million DACA illegal alien "Dream Students"? Guess he'll be tweeting from jail soon.

Nope, he ended the executive branch program and put the ball in Congress' court.

Nope, he ended the executive branch program and put the ball in Congress' court.

No, both Trump & Obama's "dream students" are still here receiving sanctuary under DACA. The executive branch enforces immigration law. Congress can't, and Trump isn't.

He's trolling congress to extend sanctuary, with eventual amnesty a virtual certainty. If he wanted to deport the illegal alien DACA's, he'd have been doing that for the past year. No congressional action required for that at all. Like Bush and Obama, he's refusing to do his job and deport illegal aliens, end of story.

We shall see, he set a deadline for Congress.

Congress can't force the president to obey the law and deport illegal aliens! All they might be able to do is impeach and remove him, and hope that the replacement will uphold their oath of office, and deport the illegal aliens. Or, they could just give them amnesty like the Reconquista Ronnie Republicans did.

Asking for congress to "fix the DACA issue" is just asking them to come up with some sort of amnesty deal. If he's not deporting them now, it's highly unlikely that he ever will. It's now or never, and he's 11 months late off the starting line.

In case you missed it he will start deporting them if Congress does nothing and the deadline comes.
