Donald Trump has not been a big believer in tax collection. When Hillary Clinton alleged he did not pay federal income taxes for years, he responded (https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-11-11/trump-s-taxes-to-stay-under-audit-but-will-public-see-them), “That makes me smart.”

Treasury Secretary Mnuchin was less upfront about tax collection in his confirmation hearings. Secretary Mnuchin confirmed his awareness of the consequences of budget cuts to the IRS on revenue collection during his confirmation hearing with the Senate Finance Committee, noting in his prepared remarks (http://static.politico.com/bc/9e/81e33aa74b5980daa9ffdeb7cba9/steven-mnuchin-responses-to-senate-finance-committee.pdf), “it is likely that further cuts to the IRS will indeed hamper our ability to collect revenue.”

Literally Hitler.

Lol, let's not get carried away. Any step in the right direction is a good thing though.

I won't get carried away but I do tend to be very happy when the IRS gets their budget cut.
