US Consular Mission Suspends Visa Issuing Services in Ankara (http://theduran.com/us-suspends-visa-services-in-turkey-citing-security-concerns/)

Turkey has joined the club of nations from which the US is partly withdrawing visa issuing consular services, in a move which illustrates just how far Washington and Ankara’s relations have deteriorated over the last year.
Even since the attempted coup against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the summer of 2016, relations have plummeted at a rate which has stunned even many sceptics.
Today, Turkey is actively cooperating with Russia and Iran in Syria … Turkey’s pivot towards Eurasia is far more meaningful than many originally suspected.

In general, Washington’s views on Turkey’s pivot have been mostly expressed by omission … excluded from the list of countries that US officials frequently name as allies … Furthermore, US cooperation with Turkey over Middle Eastern affairs has more or less vanished in recent months of the Trump administration.

Days ago, a US consular official, particularly one responsible for issuing US visas, was arrested in Turkey under suspicion of aiding the banned terrorist organisation of Fethullah Gulen. …

Today, the US consular mission in Ankara has suspended its visa issuing service citing security concerns as expressed in the following harshly worded statement (https://sputniknews.com/us/201710081058055574-us-turkey-visa-services-suspended-security/), …

While this is not a full travel ban … it is similar to the large scale withdrawal of US consular services throughout the Russian Federation.

Turkey issued an arrest warrant for a SECOND US consular worker. (http://theduran.com/breaking-turkey-issues-arrest-warrant-second-us-consular-worker/)

Turkey issued an arrest warrant for a second US consular worker. Days ago, a US consular worker in Ankara was arrested for allegedly having ties to the illegal terrorist organisation of the exiled US based cleric Fethullah Gulen. …

Turkey arrested a US consular worker who allegedly has ties to the terrorist organisation of the exiled Turkey cleric Fethullah Gulen.
After the arrest, the US withdrew its visa issuing consular services in Turkey.
Hours later, Turkey decided to do the same in respect of Turkish consular services in the United States.
Now, Turkey has summoned the official Representative of the US Embassy in Ankara for urgent talks (https://sputniknews.com/asia/201710091058066018-turkey-summon-us-visas-suspension/) …

Already Turkey has offered a rapid proportional response to the United States for its removal of visa services in the country and early reports indicate that this is just the beginning. …

Turkey has gone from being disgusted with Washington, to being openly angry. …

Erdogan: 'Western shadow' behind all terrorist groups, Daesh, al-Qaeda, PKK...
https://sputniknews.com/world/201710081058051500-erdogan-terrorists-west-support/ (a translation)

A day after the Turkish president announced a new military operation in Syria's Idlib,
he again lashed out at the West over its alleged "support" of terrorist groups.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the "West's shadow" is behind terrorist groups, including Daesh and al-Qaeda.
He yet again accused the US-backed Syrian Kurds, Ankara believes to be linked to the PKK,
of attempts to create a "terrorist corridor from Afrin to the Mediterranean" on the border with Turkey
and vowed to defend his country's security.

"Islamic State, al-Qaeda, PKK - behind all these organizations you will see the shadow of the West.
All of them find refuge in the West. Where is FETO? Also in the West.
They receive very serious financial support,"
President Erdogan said as quoted by RIA Novosti on Sunday, speaking to activists of the ruling Justice and Development Party.

Our efforts in Idlib are going on, in cooperation with the Free Syrian Army, without problems at the moment,"

The Russian Defense Ministry hasn't yet commented on Turkey's plans for an operation in Idlib,
however, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said earlier this week
that Russia is ready to support armed groups fighting al-Nusra Front in Syria's Idlib de-escalation zone.

Erdo's sudden 'reality check' is just the 'tip' of an enormous 'sea change' now emerging behind the Ankara, Tehran, Damascus, Bejing and Moscow alliance.

Let this sink in: (as Swordsmith would say :) )

What if The United States Military were LITERALLY and OPENLY to be Declared as a global Terrorist Organization?

Here's an article that argues we're basically already there.

►Moscow, Tehran, Ankara: A new, united anti-western front - calling out U.S. terrorism
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/10/moscow-teheran-and-ankara-now-present.html (a translation)

Moscow, Tehran, and Ankara have opened an anti-Western front.
In Iran, the possibility has been raised of recognizing the US armed forces as a terrorist structure,
just like the organization "Islamic State".
Head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Mohammad Ali Jafari, speaking at a meeting of the corps leaders, warned
that in case the IRGC is recognized as the terrorist organization in Washington (as has been stated in Washington),
Iran will treat the US Army as a combatant.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said that Donald Trump
planned to announce the annulment of the nuclear agreement with Iran this week
and would present a comprehensive strategy for Tehran.
In light of this, Jafari stressed that the adoption of any new restrictive measures against Iran
would in fact mean the US withdrawal from the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program.

According to Jafari, new sanctions from Washington will rule out the possibility of further cooperation between the two countries.

Let us note that the statement about the possible recognition of the identity of the American armed forces as terrorists
should not [just] be viewed in the plane of mutual accusations and quarrels,
which has become the "corporate style" of American foreign policy under Trump.

The special services and armed forces of the United States have been conducting a real terrorist war against Iran for a long time,
training and sending terrorist gangs to its territory, as Tehran has repeatedly claimed.
However,
the need to somehow interact with the United States kept the Iranians from officially acknowledging
the fact that the US security forces have been turned into terrorist organizations.

We recall that earlier that direct interaction and cooperation between the US military contingent in Syria and the terrorists of the IS
was [just] declared by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of Russia Igor Konashenkov,
warning that such actions directed against Russian and Allied forces will be stopped by force of arms.
(Konashenkov reinforced the facts shown in the course of the speeches with images from space).

Also with accusations of the West in support of terrorists,
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated, speaking to activists of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Afyon on October 8:
"IS, Al-Qaeda, and PKK -- behind all these organizations you will see the shadow of the West. All of them find refuge in the West.
And where is FETO (the organization of the oppositional Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen)? Also in the West.
They receive very serious material support," Erdogan said,
thus being in solidarity with two of his partners, or rather, allies in the "Syrian Trio."

Thus, Moscow, Tehran, and Ankara are in the open as a united front against the United States, and quite reasonably.
This circumstance clearly indicates that the existing union
does not intend to confine itself solely to the problems of fighting the IS and Al Qaeda or with Kurdish separatism.
Using an analogy from the field of medicine,
it can be said that the countries of the "Trio" make it clear that they intend to fight first of all with the cause of the disease,
and not just with its symptoms.

And this approach exemplifies/demonstrates itself,
with the obvious progress in the situation with the Iraqi Kurdistan.

The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al-Jaburi went today to Erbil to meet with the head of Iraqi Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani.
Earlier, al-Jaburi told RIA Novosti that he intends
to hold "a series of meetings, including with the leaders of Iraqi Kurdistan, to resolve the crisis in relations between Baghdad and the autonomous region."
And the day before
the head of the office of the leader of the Iraqi Kurdistan leader Fuad Hussein stated
that "Barzani and the Iraqi vice-presidents Ayad Allawi and Usama al-Nujaifi agreed at the meeting in Sulaimaniyah about the immediate lifting of sanctions"
from the Kurdish autonomy.

Recall that Baghdad declared the referendum illegitimate and stressed that it is not going to hold talks with the autonomy government on the results of voting,
and [instead] imposed sanctions against Iraqi Kurdistan, among them - the suspension of international air traffic with the region.
Thus, the mere fact of
1. the beginning of negotiations
and
2. the lifting of sanctions mean only one thing:
the leadership of the autonomy refused to declare independence
and provided Baghdad with convincing guarantees.

There is nothing surprising in this - the concerted actions of Iraq, Turkey and Iran did not leave a single chance to the Kurdish separatists.

The American-Israeli "friends" could not help in such a situation - Turkey has long been "torn from their hook",
and their methods of backroom pressure have not worked on Iran since the time of the Islamic revolution.

There was a hope that the ME allies would be able to resolve the issue of the rebellious autonomy without blood -
using only political and economic methods backed by military demonstrations at the borders.
It worked.

Basically, Masud Barzani is a pragmatic person, and this is not the first time he has radically changed his political course.
It is likely that he is ready to convert the results of the referendum into certain preferences for autonomy (and himself) from Baghdad.
The only question
is whether this peaceful end to the mutiny will stymy Tel Aviv and Washington and their agents in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Any actions in this case will be directed against Barzani.
And they will lead to a split in the already not very strong unity of the Kurds in the province,
which further deligitimizes the process of any movement towards independence.

Let us return to the US accusing the Syrian trio of supporting and using terrorists.
Let's note, that more recently in Moscow and Ankara they have spoken about hypothetical possibility
of interaction with the West and Israel in the struggle against terrorism.

These statements didn't come about because our countries were naive that terrorism was primarily a product of Western special services
as their main instrument of global and regional domination. All this was well known.
But,
"the involvement of the West in the fight against terrorism" became a kind of "buffer" or "screen,"
which was maintained by Moscow and Ankara pretending to believe in the good intentions declared in the West,
in order
to avoid direct confrontation with the US and its allies.

However, today there is no space and no chance for these kinds of maneuvers.

The most important thing
is that the alliance of the three powers today feels strong enough not to be afraid of direct confrontation as it challenges Washington.
The "cover" is discarded, things are named by their names.

Russia accuses US of 'simulating' an anti-ISIS fight as terrorists slip into Syria from Iraq
https://www.rt.com/news/406200-coalition-isis-fight-iraq/

The Russian Defense Ministry has accused the US-led international coalition of “simulating” the fight against ISIS in Iraq. The coalition conducted fewer airstrikes in Iraq in September while well-armed terrorists crossed into Syria, Moscow added.

For the past week, the focus of the Russian-led air campaign in Syria has been to annihilate terrorists in the city of Al-Mayadeen, one of the terrorists’ last strongholds southeast of the city of Deir ez-Zor.

Despite being almost encircled by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in Al-Mayadeen, Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists continue to replenish their ranks and supplies in the Euphrates Valley, where the US-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are conducting their own operation against terrorists in the resource-rich region of Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

According to last week’s estimates the Syrian military, with Russian air support, had liberated over 90 percent of Syria from IS forces.

Stressing that no one really doubts the inevitable defeat of IS terrorism in Deir ez-Zor, the Defense Ministry on Tuesday has questioned the US-led coalition's anti-terrorist effort in Iraq.

“The ongoing fueling of terrorists from Iraq raises serious questions about the real objectives of anti-terrorist operations conducted in the region by the US and the so-called ‘international coalition’ jets,” the ministry’s spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov, noted in Tuesday’s statement.

Konashenkov wondered if the US-led anti-IS coalition had changed its priorities in Syria “to complicate as much as possible” the Syrian Army’s operation to liberate the territory east of the Euphrates River, or if the US plan envisages driving all IS terrorists into Syria where the Russian Air Force will “take care” of them.

The Defense Ministry noted “daily attempts” to transfer fresh reinforcements from Iraq to the Al-Mayadeen war theatre, comprising well-armed “foreign mercenaries” on “armored vehicles [and] pick-up trucks with large-caliber weapons.”

“The US-led coalition, which is simulating the fight against ISIS, primarily in Iraq, sees all this but continues to supposedly actively fight against ISIS, for some reason in Syria,” the spokesman said.

The statement stressed that in the US-led coalition’s area of responsibility in the western part of Iraq, where Russian jets are not engaging terrorists, the area under IS control is already “several times larger than in Syria” and continues to expand. Russia believes that IS is using this springboard in Iraq to transfer fighters into Syria.

The rate of US-led strikes against ISIS targets in Iraq has sharply decreased as Syrian forces close in on IS positions in Deir ez-Zor province, the Defense Ministry said, citing the open data provided by the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve.

In some cases, Konashenkov noted, US-led planes reduced their daily intensity of attacks on ISIS targets in Iraq by five times compared to the engagement in Syria.

“The timing of this decrease in intensity of [the US-led] strikes in Iraq, in a strange way, coincided with the transfer of ISIS [militants] to Deir ez-Zor from the border areas of Iraq, who are now trying to gain a foothold on the eastern bank of the Euphrates,” Konashenkov said.

The spokesman also wondered why the US-led coalition froze its military operation to retake the city of Raqqa, which was long touted as the main US battleground against IS in Syria.

The continuous reinforcements of terrorists in Syria are making Russian Air Force work overtime to help the Syrian Army to retain and “substantially expand” its control of territory in Deir ez-Zor province. Over the past week, Russian jets have intensified their sorties, conducting surgical strikes against terrorist convoys coming from Iraq into Syria up to 150 times per day.

Moscow noted that the Russian Air Force has “destroyed the economic infrastructure” of terrorists in Syria and “suppressed” all illegal oil extraction and trade, which served as one of the main pillars of IS economic activity in Syria. Meanwhile, the Syrian Army advance made it impossible for terrorists to find new recruits and weapon supplies inside Syria without relying on reinforcements from abroad.

US-led Coalition Is Going To Allow ISIS Terrorists To Redeploy From Raqqah To Deir Ezzor – Reports
https://southfront.org/us-led-coalition-is-going-to-allow-isis-terrorists-to-redeploy-from-raqqah-to-deir-ezzor-reports/

A spokesman for the US-led coalition announced on October 10 that the so-called Raqqah Civil Council [a political group linked to the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces] and “Arab tribal elders” work to protect and evacuate remaining civilians from the ISIS-held part of Raqqah city.

The released statement says that the Raqqah Civil Council “is leading discussions to determine the best way to enable civilians trapped by Daesh to exit the city, where some are being held as human shields by the terrorists.”

The statement came amid continued clashes in Raqqah where the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are still unable to break the ISIS defense in the city center.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DLzHWAeX4AAGQYy.jpg

At the same time, a number of reprots appeared that the US-led coalition and the SDF are conducting intense negotiations with ISIS over a possible withdrawal of the terrorists from Raqqah city. According to reports, ISIS units would be allowed to withdraw to Deir Ezzor province where they help their counterparts fighting Syrian government forces.

Previously, the SDF and the US-led coalition allowed ISIS units to withdraw freely from the towns of Manbij and Taqbqa. According to some pro-government experts, allowing ISIS to withdraw the coalition will achieve two goals:

to declare the “liberation” of Raqqah;
to slow down government forces advance towards the border with Iraq in the province of Deir Ezzor.

Turkey and Iran to conduct bilateral trade in national currencies (http://theduran.com/confirmed-turkey-iran-conduct-bilateral-trade-national-currencies/)

Turkey and Iran have officially announced that future bilateral trade will be conducted in Iranian Rial and Turkish Lira. This represents yet another blow to Dollar hegemony … this gives the two countries the potential to treble the current level of bilateral trade which stands at $10 billion per annum, up to $30 billion. …

September’s BRICS summit in Xiamen China placed a heavy emphasis on the need for BRICS nations and their partners beyond, to begin developing and implementing different means of exchange than the US Dollar. The fact that the US has levelled sanctions against economies ranging from Russia to Iran and Venezuela to North Korea, while threatening to do the same to China, has only made the need to find alternatives to the Dollar as the standard trading and reserve currency, all the more pressing.

In the specific case of Iran and Turkey, the move makes good economic sense as it will achieve a more equitable exchange rate in all areas of trade and will also allow Ankara and Tehran to skirt current and future unilateral US sanctions …

In respect of Turkey, Ankara now finds itself on a list of nations, which includes Russia, where US consular authorities will no longer issue travel visas. …

In this sense, Turkey and Iran are showing unity both for practical economic reasons … This is yet a further sign of Turkey’s meaningful pivot away from the west …

MOSCOW, October 12. /TASS/. Moscow expects that Washington will give a definite answer
on the US-led coalition’s actions near Al Tanf and the Iraqi-Syrian border, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday.

The coalition’s steps regarding the fight against the Islamic State group near Al Tanf, in southeast Syria,
where the Americans have unilaterally announced a de-conflict zone, raise eyebrows, Lavrov noted.

"Strange things are happening there:
unexpectedly large numbers of IS members emerge.
The same thing occurs on the border between Iraq and Syria,
and the militants try to stonewall the Syrian army’s offensive
with our support on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River," Lavrov said.

According to Lavrov, Russia often asks the US about these issues via the military channels of communication.
"I expect that the military, as people who are precise and business-minded,
will give definite answers to their questions from the American partners."

Lavrov noted that during his latest phone conversation
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson assured him that the only goal of the US-led coalition in Syria
is the fight against the IS.

"If this is so, probably, it won’t be difficult to dispel doubts of our military," Lavrov said.
"I hope definite answers to particular questions will be given in a professional way," he said.
