Should we have a RonPaulapalooza and if so, where should it be located?
Austin (largest Meetup)
Houston (Ron Paul's back yard)
Des Moines (election central)
Dallas/KC...more central
Charlotte.....east coast election central

I picked Austin. I'm assuming you want good bands to play at our event, no? Well, Austin has access to tons of 'em.

If it's music we're after......Austin's the place!!

Sorry....last option was supposed to be: We should focus our efforts on something else!

Los Angeles is the music capital of America, not to mention the world. And it would also be a great city to throw the event in cause it would get lots more Californians and other west-coasters exposed to the Ron Paul peace message.

Austin has the music, but it would cost more to get there than it would to get to Dallas.

The Dallas music scene can't hold a candle to Austin, but it's not completely dead either.

Philly cause it's close the the major metro's and easy to get to from those places. There was good turnout for the Veterans Day rally.

I voted for Austin, though it should really be in Cuero.... think Party in the Pasture, infrastructure and all that exists already (it's a three day music/camping party in the middle of nowhere), all we have to do is show up (BYOW).

I would love for it to be in Dallas it would be able to draw from cities in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana a lot easier than if it was in Austin. Just my 2 cents.

Hmm...how about this...

Whomever can do the footwork for the best location go and do it and then we can decide.

I'd love for it to be in Austin...just because I'd go there...or Dallas.

But a huge concert takes a lot of footwork and money for a venue etc.

Maybe the Austin meetup would step up and get some initial funding going to get things reserved.

As someone who used to own a live music venue I'd also point out that getting huge bands isn't all that easy on short notice (plus they'd have to be in that area at the time). The larger the band, the more lead time you need.

Just a month of lead time would be tough...anything over a month and we wouldn't have much of an impact on the primaries.

When Ron Paul wins I'd suggest a July 4th huge Ronstock.

But if we really want this for the primaries someone needs to start getting things set up.

How about California?

Houston or Dallas might beat Austin simply because we already have a lot of Austin RP followers, but we will need one of the larger cities as well to win Texas. Winning Texas would be HUGE.

San Diego- we're now the #5 largest meetup group (and Michigan has the whole state!), and we have a great music scene (although not as good as Austin)!

I would love for it to be somewhere in the middle of the country. I have not been able to go to any events because it's hard to drive to many places and be back in time to go to work on Monday..

I have been wanting to go to Texas so I guess I'll vote for Texas.

Honostly, I dont care. Texas makes the most sense but I'm flying from Alaska so anywhere works for me. I have airmiles so the price is no different.

The Texas primary is March 4th...

Saturday March 1st would be perfect. Carol Paul's birthday is Feb 29th, what a great birthday gift it would be.
