Nice.

I was hoping for some re-emphasis on abolishing the IRS.

Let's not let Huck be the anti-IRS candidate.

It is good though I don't really like the voice-over. I think this one would have been better with just Ron's voice. Just MHO.

YES! Get rid of the income tax and replace it with NOTHING! Congressman Ron Paul can get it done! Responsible spending! Prosperity! GREAT AD!

ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!!

This what we need from RP...boldness. If we can market this campaign as a referendum against the IRS...we win!

Voice over was good because its then multiple people reinforcing the idea that we can in fact get rid of the income tax... people are more likely to let it sink in and act upon the information if more than one person tells it to them

AWESOME AD! This is perfect, goal, benefit and why it is possible. They should have added at the end "Does anyone honestly think that we cannot cut federal spending to the level it was under Bill Clinton?"

I love this ad! This is the best one thus far. I think the campaign definitely does a better job with radio ads than they do with TV ads.

They should have added at the end "Does anyone honestly think that we cannot cut federal spending to the level it was under Bill Clinton?" LOL, maybe you should suggest that to HQ.

Woohoo! Been waiting for this one.

It sounds like RP's portion of the commercial was assembled from two cuts. Pretty shoddy work there.

But the message is great!

The radio ads are top notch. Now only if we could get some top quality tv ads we'd be set.

Wow. That would have really knocked the ball out of the park. You should call the campaign and suggest they re-cut the commercial.

I'm a little concerned on how true this is.

2008-income tax=1998?

I don't think that counts in for inflation. 44% is going to the war right now? I don't think that much.

I dono. :X People are going to question this and he better have a darn good reason to say it.

This is well timed, and all of the necessary talking points were hit... Good Job.

Now we move forward...

Next Goal: Get an ad of the same caliber up regarding the Economy...

A decade doesn't necessarily have to be exactly 10 years. The ad/Ron Paul could have meant to levels back in the 90s (and it'd have to be the early to mid 90s at that). So techinically, it isn't that off. People have already challenged Ron Paul on saying we can get rid of the income tax and go back to the spending levels of 2000. Turns out he was factually incorrect. But still, it wasn't like he was way off.

End the war and end the IRS. RP is the only Republican who would do it.

Well my question is,

does he count inflation?
how much would we have to cut in order to get to the 90s spending level?

Dunno...

I think if we cut spending by 50% (which shouldn't be hard, since spending is off the charts right now), then we can get rid of the income tax without replacing it with anything. That's all I really care about.

I loved the emphasis on "replace it with nothing". And at the end: "We can end the income tax." :D

This ad has a sly psychological aspect to it. Ron Paul speaks right about the 30 second mark, and you think he's just going to "approve the message". But no! He re-enforces it all over again. Nicely done.

Sales tax too? Wasn't aware of that. Isn't that a states issue? What federal taxes would remain?

A lot of people want to replace the income tax with the FairTax, which is a national sales tax. The ad is emphasizing that Ron Paul would replace the income tax with nothing.

sorry, but it sounds like a pipe dream without elaboration. The defense budget is the lion's share of where our federal income tax goes, not inluding interest. You can't eliminate the funding for this dept and not replace it with something else. I wish he would spend more time on matters of practical interest, like restoring the constitution, that need to be done first before grandiose ideas of eliminating all federal income taxes. Cutting back to spending over a decade ago, considering 7% interest is half our budget. The only was is to cut the majority of defense spending, most other federal programs, and interest on the debt.
