If this WSJ report citing H-bomb capable ICBM claim is confirmed?

Granted Clinton and Bush also played a role in this mess, in recent years there seem to have been an unnecessary escalation in ego massaging grudge matches and bravado/name calling that is getting translated to troubling physical developments without any good containment means. When current/last POTUS/their allies had been busy framing each other as "Founding Father of ISIS" and "supporter of nationalist supremacist" etc, NK apparently had been perfecting H-bomb ready missiles designs. And then there were highly attention demanding but elective/illogical/unnecessary/costly freedom spreading projects in Iraq , Benghazi, Syria, ISIS development etc of recent years.

SEOUL—North Korea said it conducted a sixth and significantly larger nuclear test Sunday, stepping up pressure on President Donald Trump in what is shaping up to be his biggest foreign policy crisis.
In a televised statement, North Korea described the underground explosion, which triggered a large earthquake, as a “perfect success in the test of a hydrogen bomb for an ICBM.” Pyongyang said “the creditability of the operation of the nuclear warhead is fully guaranteed.”
The test came just hours after leader Kim Jong Un showed off what he described as a hydrogen bomb (https://www.wsj.com/articles/north-korea-says-it-has-developed-advanced-hydrogen-bomb-1504394440) capable of being mounted on an intercontinental ballistic missile.

North Korea responded Wednesday to President Trump’s threatening message delivered before television news camera the day before. They mocked his golf outings in the statement and taunted him over the threat.
“The U.S. President at a [golf] links again let out a load of nonsense about ‘fire and fury,’ failing to grasp the on-going grave situation…” the statement said. (https://twitter.com/CNNSitRoom/status/895410786394226694)
“It seems that he has not yet understood the statement,” it continued. “Sound dialogue is not possible with such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him.”
The statement was attributed to the Commander of the Strategic Force of the Korean People’s Army, General Kim Rak Gyom.

It is ALL propaganda, it is one of the imperial propaganda projects that all the factions cooperate about.

He does Kim Jung Unh's horoscope. He is predicting that October 11 - late November is when some heavy North Korea stuff is going to go down. Kim Jung Unh will either die or transition into a completely new person in mid or late November.

The news Sunday morning that North Korea had launched what appeared to be its sixth nuclear test and most powerful one to date is troubling enough.

But a statement from the rogue regime took things to a whole new level. The North said it had tested an H-bomb that was “a multi-functional thermonuclear nuke with great destructive power which can be detonated at high altitudes for super-powerful EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack according to strategic goals.”

It is all fake, analysis has shown that their missiles are too small to carry a warhead and travel very far, the odds that their "Nukes" are real are extremely low.

Everyone involved has good reason to want to pretend that N. Korea is a threat to world peace so they all go along with the lies.

They don't really threaten us, they threaten their neighbors. Some people think the regime is controlled by a third party because they shouldn't have the ability to maintain themselves without foreign parties that benefit from them. It's just more then possible that there is mutual benefit to parties propping up NK. The US is never honest about its foreign policy either, no matter what political party it is. Bush went to Iraq to free them, Obama left Iraq and sponsored ISIS, Trump wants to stay the course in Afghanistan, but in Korea he wants to end the regime, he is clearly wanting to target their regime. SK is starting to object to our intervention and Trump is responding by using TPA to end trade deals we made with South Korea with the underlying promise of them supporting our regime change in NK.
