Excerpts:

We've been saying this a lot lately, but just when you thought the political climate in this country couldn't get any more wacky ESPN has to go and pull an Asian-American announcer, who just happens to be named Robert Lee, off the William and Mary vs. University of Virginia college football game because of concerns they might create a mass-triggering of America's snowflakes.

*

Meanwhile, ESPN issued the following statement:

“We collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name. In that moment it felt right to all parties. It’s a shame that this is even a topic of conversation and we regret that who calls play by play for a football game has become an issue."

Guess he'll have to change his name. Mao might be more popular.

Man it's getting harder to tell truth from satire.

Stolen from Twitter:

Clearly this means that Sheila Jackson Lee should step down to avoid offending people.

ESPN is losing audience, money, and it's integrity. This oversensitivity to political correctness just defies common sense.

Plus they talk too much while the game's on. They should spend more time shutting up and/or making sammiches.

Surely this was a feel good moment for the insane.

And they are dumb. as. dirt. If I had a blog, it would be devoted to the stupid things said by ESPN. On the night of the epic rival game between Vanderbilt and Tennessee, they kept saying it was a beautiful night in Nashville. They weren't playing in Nashville. They were clearly showing the shot of Neyland Stadium right there in Knoxville, right there on the river that holds over 100K fans. Dudley Field in Nashville is nowhere near the river and holds fewer fans than most high school fields here in town. I called them and they never corrected it. You could see the orange and white checkerboard right there in the end zone.

The other day they kept talking about the Little League team from Sioux Falls, North Dakota. Sioux Falls is in South Dakota, as they could plainly see from the uniforms the players wore.

Sheesh.

Betty White is beautiful and awesome. She was married to Alan Ludden who was the host of the original Password. He loved her and could barely talk when she was on the show.

I always liked her, but her character in the show befits ESPN just like Ted Baxter.

A+ in the Art of Deflection, ESPN.

What I don't get is how these major corporations are pulling PR stunts for fear of pissing off a loud, obnoxious minority. Common sense would dictate that you look at your audience and cater your behavior around what they would approve of.

This is like the CEO of Camping World (a NASCAR sponsor) saying that Trump was wrong to place blame on both sides and that if you disagree you can go shop somewhere else. HELLO!?!?!? Fucking NASCAR? 99.9% of the viewers are republican hillbillies. These corporate snowflake-enablers have absolutely no clue.

Indeed. Some of grew up with Mary Tyler Moore. It was interesting to see how dumb people could act. Betty White is an intelligent and gracious woman.

We've officially gone over the cliff. ESPN discriminated against an Asian man because his 'name' too closely resembled that of a confederate general? Dafuq?

She (former ESPN Vice President Roxanne Jones) quoted an ESPN executive saying, “Let’s not go to the zoo if we don’t have to go to the zoo.”
