The 32 million dollar widget "glitch"

edit: so far I can screen capture 2.2 mil. Usually I screen capture before any number shows up. It might be impossible.

32,123,456.78 divided by 3 is 10,707,818.92

if it's possible that at some point, some day, at 1:48pm, it had that 10.7+ mil, and the widget is set to decrease the total by 1/3, it all makes sense! yay!

That makes sense, it has a weird pattern to it that makes me a bit iffy, but the fact that its likely 3x the amount at the time seems better credited to coding the randomizer than it does anything else, so you may be right.

one of the lower board members apparently saw one of the ron paul/bernanke hearings accidentally on tv and then figured out that this would not solve the crisis - a long quarrell emerged wether the fed or paul were right, eventually they realized they could not compete with the wisdom of gandalf and then implemented this clever scheme...

I think I know the reason for the 32million at the startup, when the counter broke the 10 million mark half of the last digit was getting cropped by the size of the gray box.
By setting an initial value with an 10 digit number they managed to avoid the cropping by forcing the size of the box larger that what would have happened with a count up from 1million.

Sounds like typical Ron Paul and a good way to under-promise and over-deliver the 3Q results.

I can just hear the press release Jan 2, 2008 "Due to a technical glitch with our online donation counter the actual amount raised during 4Q was $60M instead of $20M as originally thought. We are still learning how this whole Interwebs thing works."
