GOP Rep. BLASTS “Head of the Swamp” McConnell, Demands He Step Down Over Obamacare Repeal Failure

Following Senator John McCain’s vote that killed all prospects of repealing Obamacare, calls have begun for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to step down from his leadership post. In particular, Rep. Mo Brooks, running for Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ Senate seat in Alabama, is calling on McConnell to leave his post, branding the Kentucky Senator “Head of the Swamp.”

Swamp creatures cannibalizing each other, offer up a 'sacrifice'. Not surprised. CNN eating it up.

Much as I dislike McConnell, these efforts would have failed regardless of anything he did/didn't do.

There just aren't the votes to do anything useful (or, apparently, to do anything at all).

It'll take an election cycle or two to fix the problem.

They definitely need to get a clue. Voters did not send them to Washington to keep things the same.

The demoralized GOP rank and file will stay home and the energized "resisting" progressives will blow the GOP out of the water in 2018.

Back to status quo ante.

Which is, of course, what the fuckers wanted all along.

Is there a possibility for a different scenario?

Yup. The worst thing two parties want is a House and Executive that is all one. Gotta have enough of a division to blame it on the other.

Tell us, oh Matt Collins, how this different scenario might play out.

Paul Ryan first.

I disagree with McConnell on a lot, but pretty sure Rand has his ear and I think they even tag-team sometimes.

Why not both at once?

Why not both at once?

Because I imagine he will be replaced by someone as bad, or worse, who won't have Rand's ear.

And like I said, I think McConnell and Rand tag team sometimes. I don't think you will ever be able to definitively pin it on him, but I think McConnell might be more on our side than we think he is, but also might be controlled by the opposition. I could be totally wrong of course.

That doesn't concern me.

Let the GOP become a minority party - what are they doing for us in the majority?

We need to add a couple libertarian-ish members next year.

Beyond that, let it burn.
