Putin: Russia Can Not Suffer Cheek Forever. Stands Ready to Retaliate Against US Sanctions (http://russia-insider.com/en/politics/putin-russia-can-not-suffer-cheek-forever-stands-ready-retaliate-against-us-sanctions)

Putin: the exact set of countermeasures will depend on the final state in which the bill is passed

http://russia-insider.com/sites/insider/files/styles/s400/public/vladimirputin_0.jpg?itok=ywrq7cw-

The sanctions bill currently in US Congress targeting Russia, Iran, North Korea and Germany(hahaha)
would make it impossible for Trump to withdraw existing Russia sanctions,
and would authorize him to enact additional sanctions.

However these additional sanctions are not mandatory and will not come into existence with the bill --
Trump would actually have to enact them of his own accord.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWfIXj7xJFo

Visiting Finland today Putin has been extremely clear
that it sees the new round of proposed US sanctions in the most negative terms possible
and that enacting them would be the end of business as usual.
One way or another "at one point" Russia will retaliate.

Shell boss Ben Van Beurden said the oil major had changed its company mindset to a “lower forever” oil price environment and is focusing on being “fit for the forties”, in reference to the faltering oil price, which has struggled to remain above the $50 a barrel mark.

The group is already shifting its production focus from oil to natural gas, but in its clearest statement of intent to date Mr Van Beurden said that within the next year Shell will reveal early plans for a deeper presence in renewable energy and the electrical chain to tap into the boom in electric vehicles.

I hope he does retaliate. I'm for justice. I'm against the mindless drones that occupy the congress and other top positions. There is no reason why they should be putting all the lives of everyone in both countries so at risk for economic destruction. If we can't stop meddling I hope Russia stands up for themselves.

It's so stupefyingly obvious that when the ONLY thing
that achieves 99.9% consensus is blaming Russia..
It's meant to deflect the focus from their own crimes.
I learned that trick in grade school...

On July 28, the United States Ambassador to Russia John Tefft
was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry,
where he was handed the Foreign Ministry’s statement concerning Moscow’s decision
with regard to the staff and facilities of US diplomatic missions,
along with the relevant diplomatic notifications.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry’s statement on the U.S. counter-sanctions
http://www.mid.ru/ru/foreign_policy/news/-/asset_publisher/cKNonkJE02Bw/content/id/2824435?p_p_id=101_INSTANCE_cKNonkJE02Bw&_101_INSTANCE_cKNonkJE02Bw_languageId=en_GB

Foreign Ministry’s statement

№ 1420-28-07-2017

28.07.17

On July 27, the US Congress passed a new bill on tougher anti-Russia sanctions.
This measure is further proof of the Unites States’ extremely hostile foreign policy.
Hiding behind its sense of superiority,
the United States arrogantly ignores the stances and interests of other countries.

It is common knowledge that the Russian Federation
has been doing everything in its power to improve bilateral relations,
to encourage ties and cooperation with the US on the most pressing issues on the international agenda
including fighting terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, illegal drug trafficking, illegal migration, cybercrime, etc.
Our understanding has been that we can only solve these global problems if we work together.
We believe the majority of people in the world share this approach.

Meanwhile, the United States is using Russia’s alleged interference in its domestic affairs
as an absolutely contrived excuse for its persevering and crude campaigns against Russia.
This activity contradicts the principles of international law, the UN Charter, WTO regulations and, simply,
the standards of civilised international communication.

The United States continues to pass more unlawful sanctions against Russia,
to seize Russia’s diplomatic property, which is formalised in binding bilateral documents,
and to deport Russian diplomats.
This is clearly a violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations
and generally recognised diplomatic practices.

The adoption of the new sanctions bill is an obvious indication that relations with Russia
are being dragged down by political infighting in the United States.
Moreover, the new bill uses political means to create a dishonest competitive advantage for the US in the global economy.
This blackmail aimed at restricting Russia’s cooperation with its foreign partners
threatens many countries and international businesses.

Despite Washington’s constant outbursts,
we have adhered to responsible and reserved behaviour and have not responded to express provocations until now.
However, the latest events confirm that certain circles in the US
are fixated on Russophobia and open confrontation with our country.

– Therefore, we request that our American counterparts
bring the number of diplomatic and technical staff at the US Embassy in Moscow,
the consulates general in St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok,
into strict correspondence with the number of Russian diplomats and technical staff currently working in the United States, until September 1, 2017.

►[B]This means that the total number of American diplomatic and consular office employees in the Russian Federation must be reduced to 455 people.

In the event of further unilateral action on behalf of US officials to reduce the Russian diplomatic mission in the US, we will respond accordingly.

►Starting August 1, the use of all the storage facilities on Dorozhnaya Street in Moscow
and
the country house in Serebryany Bor
will be suspended from use by the US Embassy.

Russia reserves the right to resort to other measures affecting US’ interests on a retaliatory basis.

'Uncertain' Germany abandons 5 'future' projects of the Nord Stream-2 (http://ktovkurse.com/rossiya/germaniya-otkazalas-ot-pyati-proektov-severnogo-potoka-2) ([ENG] Inessa S.)

http://ktovkurse.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/2306Nord-Stream-2.jpg

Germany's Federal Network Agency Bundesnetzagentur, which is engaged in the development of the German gas transmission network until 2026,
has decided not to include in their development plan
five expansion projects of the "North Stream-2" due to their "unreliability."

It was assumed that the operators of the network
would build a branch of the gas pipeline to the amount of 4.5 billion euros,
but the implementation of five projects was rejected "due to uncertainty"
in the construction of the second stage of the Russian gas pipeline.

The agency reports that the projects can still be included in the network development plan
after the permissions for the expansion of Nord Stream-2 are received.

The department refused to clarify whether the requirements to abandon projects
on the expansion of the "Nord Stream-2",
were related to the threat of sanctions from the United States.

After this news, German industrialists opposed the politicization of the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline,
as explained by the Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, Michael Harms.
In his opinion, the project should help to compensate for the declining production rates in Europe
and will play an important role in ensuring the energy security of the continent.

The plan for the development of the gas transportation network is made every two years by the operators of the main pipelines.
It is calculated 10 years ahead and verified by the Federal Network Agency.

The construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline should begin next year and end at the end of 2019.
The pipeline stretches 1220 kilometers from the Russian coast to the coast of Germany along the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

US State Dept. Not to Disclose Number of Diplomats in Russia Amid Property Spat (https://sputniknews.com/politics/201707281055974673-us-dos-diplomatic-mission-russia/)

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — An informed source told Sputnik on Friday
that the United States Embassy in Moscow and consulates general
are expected to cut up to 300 of their staff members from the current 600-700 people.

"It is our policy to not comment on the number of individuals serving at our missions abroad," the official said.

"It is important for us to state on September 1,
we have corresponding tools to check this,
that the numbers of members of staff of US diplomatic missions in Russia do not exceed 455," Ryabkov told Rossiya 1 channel.

US Ambassador to Russia John Tefft has expressed his "strong disappointment and protest"

Russia responds to sanctions: 700 US Diplomatic staff to be deported (http://rusvesna.su/news/1501271630) ( [eng] Inessa S.)

https://www.therussophile.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/2.bp_.blogspot.combag-2f42a0aee9c67e4cd3708097581c4fcf65e263fe.png

The countermeasures announced by Russia on American sanctions will force the US
to reduce the number of their employees by more than 700 people in Russia.

When deciding on measures against the US in Moscow, they proceeded from the premise that
"the American side was warned in advance of all the prepared measures,
this concerns both the restrictions imposed on real estate and the the number of diplomatic employees."

"Washington knew about this, but preferred to allow the development of events in this scenario,
although it could have prevented it," says the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On Friday, July 28, the US Senate approved new sanctions against Russia.

The bill provides, in particular, the imposition of restrictions on various sectors of the Russian economy.
In addition, the codification of already existing restrictions is proposed,
which will deprive the US administration of the opportunity to independently decide on the fate of sanctions against Russia.
Now the bill should be signed by Donald Trump.

From September 1, the number of diplomatic and technical staff working in the US embassy in Moscow,
at the consulates in
St. Petersburg,
Yekaterinburg
and Vladivostok,
should be reduced to 455 people -
only as many Russian diplomats and technical personnel that are working in the United States.

The statement also says that the Russian side has suspended from August 1
the use by the US Embassy of all storage facilities on Dorognaya Street in Moscow
and the dacha in Serebryany Bor.

For me, when Trump failed to reverse the foolish executive order sanctions Obama put in during the final days of his admin when he was reversing some of Obama's executive orders, it confirmed my earlier suspicion that Trump isn't who he says he is.

Now he is going to sign this bill and just continue the antagonizing Obama's US-Russia relationship. I understand wishful thinking on the Russian's part but the writing on the way was pretty clear for most people but the most gullible Trump fan bois.

A Sanctions Hammer?

Russia controls more than 45% of the world’s Uranium enrichment capacity. The U.S. imports 90% of its nuclear fuel. Do the math. (http://russia-insider.com/en/politics/russians-have-sanctions-hammer/ri20514)

Kazakhstan is the world’s largest producer of yellowcake with the world’s largest reserves.
Do you seriously think Kazakhstan, one of Russia’s strongest allies,
is going to go it alone in one of its major industries
if the new Cold War between the U.S. and Russia intensifies further?

I have two words for you. Hell and No.

Canada’s Athcabasca Basin in Saskatchewan has been instrumental in expanding world yellowcake supply in recent years.
But, that’s not changing the dynamics of the industry, it’s just keeping Urainium prices depressed.

SWUs Trump SJWs

Because, the issue isn’t ore production but turning that ore into usable fuel, called Single Work Units (SWU).
And the U.S. and Canada are not interested in refining Uranium due to environmental policy.
I’ve heard nothing from the Trump administration on this either,
so, nothing is going to change in a way to affect current or fear future events.

Rosatom, the Russian State Nuclear Energy company, has tremendous leverage.
The faux outrage over Hillary Clinton selling 20% of U.S. Uranium reserves to the Russians is irrelevant.

I will paraphrase her for the only time in my life, “What difference does it make” to expand ore production
when the Russians effectively control the refineries?

Because due to policy changes over the past twenty years
the U.S. has no ability to credibly produce its own nuclear fuel.
So, improved Canadian ore production still has to be shipped to Russia or Europe for processing.

Russia to continue delivering rocket engines to US — deputy premier (http://tass.com/science/958294)

US space launches currently depend on the delivery of Russian-made rocket engines

"They (the United States) have an interesting approach,
they try not to harm areas in which they are interested.
They say that "space is outside politics."
We take the "space is outside politics" slogan into account, but nothing lasts forever," he said.

According to the Russian official, the US is interested in keeping the deal running,
because their space launches currently depend on the delivery of Russian-made rocket engines.

An agreement between Moscow and Washington to deliver 101 RD-180 rocket engines to the United States
and estimated to be worth about $1 billion was signed in 1997.
The US Congress earlier prohibited the use of those engines after 2019,
but had to lift the ban when it became clear that no replacement for them can be found in the coming years.
Shortly after, the ULA space consortium ordered 20 more engines from Russian manufacturer Energomash, to be delivered until 2020.

Putin: "755 US diplomats to depart Russia, time to show we won’t leave anything unanswered" (https://www.rt.com/news/398019-putin-us-diplomats-sanctions/)

755 American diplomats will have to leave Russia as a result of Washington's own policies,
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said in an exclusive Sunday interview with the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

"The American side has made a move which, it is important to note, hasn't been provoked by anything, to worsen Russian-US relations.
[It includes] unlawful restrictions, attempts to influence other states of the world, including our allies,
who are interested in developing and keeping relations with Russia,"

"We've been waiting for quite a long time that maybe something would change for the better,
we had hopes that the situation would change. But it looks like, it's not going to change in the near future...
I decided that it is time for us to show that we will not leave anything unanswered,"

The number of US diplomatic service staff in Russia was ordered to be reduced
in order to equal the number of Russian diplomats in the US by September 1.
As of now, it "greatly exceeds" the number of Russia's embassy staff in the US, the ministry said.
The American diplomatic mission includes more than 1,200 personnel.

The Russian leader went on to say that there is a number of "important spheres of cooperation" between Moscow and Washington,
which he hoped would not suffer because of America's anti-Russian policies.
Those mostly include
the joint fight against terrorism,
obligations in nuclear arms control,
and space projects
rather than [just]economic relations, Putin said.

The Irony (http://theduran.com/britains-remainers-go-silent-sanctions/)

“For years
following the coming of President Putin to power
the Western and especially the US media ran a shrill campaign warning
that President Putin was intent on locking Western investors out of Russia
and reversing the privatization process begun in the 1990s.
It is extremely strange therefore to see the US Congress working hard
to achieve that very thing, which Putin as it happens never did."

Regardless of that
the idea that there is insufficient capital and technology in Russia
to enable the country to develop its economy successfully on the basis of its own resources
is a myth, though one which obviously dies hard.

The Russians have [now] got the message though,
which is that normal commercial relations between Russia and the US will never happen.
The point was made very clearly by Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov
in a television interview on Wednesday:

"We are aware that those sanctions, which are imposed now, [will not be lifted], whatever we would do.
Even if we say we agree to anything and hoist a white flag,
anyway hearings and motions will be in full swing.
Senators and Congresspersons will find a million excuses
for not lifting anything."

Every attempt to achieve such a relationship going back to the detente era of the 1970s
has ended in failure because the political opposition in the US is too strong.
As Ryabkov says, there is no reason to think that will ever change,
and the Russians clearly no longer believe it will.

The new sanctions are however being imposed without any prior discussion between the US and EU whatsoever.
No one in the US has asked for Angela Merkel’s or the EU’s opinions about them,
or has shown the slightest concern for German or European interests.
Instead the sanctions are being imposed for purely domestic reasons.

UK
In such a trans-Atlantic schism, Britain’s seemingly pro-EU factions have been nowhere to be heard.
If those in Britain who argue for remaining in the EU were so concerned with a wider European crisis,
they would be standing up for those in Europe who are violently opposed to the US sanctions
on the grounds of being deeply detrimental to EU businesses.

So much for the myth of Britain’s ability to unite the English speaking world with Europe.
Another narrative has officially been shattered.

"Our stance remains that we will not accept any extraterritorial use whatsoever of these US sanctions against European companies. Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s spokesman Sigmar Gabriel and Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern issued statements lambasting the American bill.

Kern and Gabriel penned a joint statement concluding that
'the fallout from the sanctions “would add an absolutely new and highly negative aspect in relations between the US and Europe.”

"I will be meeting face-to-face with Foreign Minister Lavrov this weekend on the margins of the (ASEAN and East Asia Summit) meetings in Manila,"

The US top diplomat added that he and Lavrov had a phone conversation
after Moscow demanded that Washington reduce the number of diplomatic and technical staff in Russia by September 1.

"He and I have already spoken. I would say, our conversation following the actions has been professional, there's been no belligerence,".

"I think, Foreign Minister Lavrov and I understand our roles, we understand our responsibilities,
and I think he's as committed as I am to trying to find ways that we can bring this relationship back closer towards one another."

At the same time, Tillerson added that Moscow’s move would affect the US Department of State’s work in Russia.

"Does it make our life more difficult? Of course it makes our life more difficult," .

Trump Signs Russia Sanctions Bill "With Reservations" (http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-08-02/trump-signs-russia-sanctions-bill)

The only thing noteworthy is it's rarity.
One of the few times we get to see the power of the Legislative
over the Executive.
The problem of course is when your legislative is bought and corrupted by corporate lobbyists.

No longer a problem for Maduro.

This is VERY easy to figure out. It is a ploy to get Russia to attack us first so the American Sheeple know who the enemy is, and who "started" the fight.

If Russia attacks the US over these Sanctions, then the US public will think #1 Russia's attacks were unprovoked and #2 Congress needs to be eliminated so we can make Trump a King. When America dies, it will die with thunderous applause from the American public. Then it will just eat itself.

Why would Russia attack the US over some small sanctions? Why would the US citizens agree to get rid of Congress?
