I like Kucinich. He looks like Martin Short.

RP still has my vote as long as my guns are safe.

RP would keep Kucinich in check, and maybe he'd see the light by watch RP at work

Do we get to leave RP in some crazy secure bunker the entire 8 years?

nope. I would want a VP that could continue the freedom movement and I don't see Kucinich filling that role. He's a honest guy and I respect that but his views on socialism and taxes don't sit well with me.

I won't vote for any candidate with that socialist as a VP. I wish he would drop out and endorse Ron Paul though just to give a couple more % in the polls.

If Ron Paul picks 'em I'll support them. I trust his judgement. He's got my vote no matter what.

See, Ron Paul is trying to win the Republican nomination. Kinda hard when you are always getting attached to an uber left wing liberal like Kucinich. Either in VP speculation, endorsements, etc.

Think of the average Republican voter. Seriously, think about that voter. Not yourself. Are they more or less likely to support Ron Paul when his name is being attached to Dennis Kucinich?

I think the point of this thread was just a hypothetical to see how anti Kucinich people are, if people are willing to pass up on a RP pres cause of Kucinich

I think that twas the OP intention, not to actually suggest this should happen

I'd have to go elsewhere. I really wish some of the more left leaning people would stop with the Kucinich stuff. The guy is a gun banning commie. He just happens to agree with Ron on some foreign policy issues.

If you think Kucinich would make a good president of VP, you really are supporting Ron Paul for all the wrong reasons. I suggest you go back and look at where you stand politically. You havn't yet made up your mind on basic political philosophy.

I say negative.

Ron needs a paleoconservative/Libertarian leaning runningmate in my opinion. Anything else would water down the message. If hes gonna go for it, he should go for it and not comprimise. Kucining is an honest guy, sure he means well, probably more than any other candidate running besides Ron, But his beliefs are too far from Ron's beliefs for me to take something like that seriously. I like dennis on a personal level and would trust him on a personal level than most people I could think of, but I wouldnt want him anywhere near decision making for the country.

Palin would be great

Napolitano would be great

Walter Williams would be pretty good

Gingrich would be great(just kidding.......... no really im kidding)

Maybe if he loses the GOP nom, they would join on the Indy ticket.
It would be murder for RP's GOP chances to seek this before he got the nomination.
If nominated as the GOP candidate, he would steal many more democratic votes than he would lose.
These guys would really clean house corruption-wise.

I honestly don't understand the whole Paul/Kucinich thing. Do people just make this assumption because they bother are against the war and have grassroots? They are VERY DIFFERENT POLITICALLY. Dennis is basically a Marxist when it comes to economics. He wants more government in your lives not less. Yes, Ron Paul and him agree on some issues such as ending the War on Drugs and the War in Iraq but not much else.

I'm not political. I want what is best for this country.
Politics and what is best for this country are mutually exclusive.

They are more similar than most people want to believe. You are looking at the details and not the big picture.

Wow.. I can't believe the number of people that wouldn't vote for this ticket. It would never happen, and there are a ton of other, much better, options out there.. but it came to this and a Hillary/Obama ticket, I would certainly pick the RP/DK ticket.

Ideally, I would like to see Paul vs Kucinich for the General Election.

I would vote for a Paul/Kucinich ticket.

That being said, is there any possibility that we could stop bringing up Kucinich? There's a general agreement on this board that Kucinich genuinely loves his country, and sticks to his principles (for the most part). Can't we just leave it at that? This has been discussed to DEATH! There are many reasons why having Kucinich on board will weigh down the entire movement. As others have said, he's a socialist. He believes in universal health care (which ultimately means some tax raises), gun control, etc. Also, let's face the facts - Kucinich is second-tier, Paul is first-tier.

I'm flagging this for hot topics. I encourage others to join me.

Kucinich's opinion is that if say a Jesus-type were President, obviously we wouldn't be sacrificing freedom with a larger government. Realistically though, he would make a terrible president. As VP, he would have no legislative power but would really clean house in terms of corruption. RP is the same way by desiring the dissolution of useless government.

Ron Paul/Barry Goldwater Jr ticket.

Now that would be the nail in the coffin for the neo-cons.

WILL EVERYONE STOP FOR THE LAST TIME MENTIONING DENNIS KUCINICH IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS RON PAUL?

Ron Paul espouses FREEDOM in all circumstances. Dennis Kucinich is just a little peace-loving PINKO who happens to agree with Ron Paul on ONE issue.

THEY ARE NOTHING ALIKE.

Dennis Kucinich would use the Federal Government to run every aspect of YOUR life.

Politics and what is best for this country are mutually exclusive.

No they are not.

If you dont understand the basic differences between Paul and Kucinich, you really are casting an uninformed vote. How well they would run the country has nothing to do with how good of a person they are. It has all to do with their political philosophy. What do they think the role of the government should be. How good are they at implementing that philosophy.

Paul and Kucinich are a complete mismatch. If you find yourself supporting both of them, I hate to say it, but you shouldnt vote. You dont have a clue what you are voting for. Dont vote for something you dont understand.

As VP he couldn't do any of that. Use him as the mouthpiece to clean up Washington.
And they are TOTALLY SIMILAR, they just support opposite solutions to a common problem. Wake up.
