It's been only 6 months, so this is just an early snapshot.
Trump is doing well in battles against media neocons , traditional DGP puppetmasters lobbies at home and ISIS (that he claimed was founded by Obama) etc abroad. But it seems that his use of a mix of "strategic belligerence" on tough FP issues like Afghanistan quagmire (with MOAB/mini war escalation plans) and to an extent on China/NK while also continuing some sort of "strategic patience" on NK has had mixed results if not mostly failure.
NK's ICBM fireworks "shock" this week that caused Namrita Halley to cancel her July 4th plans was part of a grand chess game between China and US that Trump took too lightly early on?
On Afghanistan, by leaning towards more war/more troops he is almost certainly heading towards compounding of failure that Obama left in his lap. There is no military solution, the sooner he realizes the better. Eradicating ISIS was the easy part as it was mostly cultivated by forces under US influence/DGP's masters etc but handling of Syria/Iraq/Israel-Palestine/Afghan conflicts would be the real test of his grasp of the world around us. Let's hope he will do better and learn from few early mistakes in FP.
