of massive donations ?

I really believe we will do over 10 mil!! I really think we will average over $150 per donation and get over 70,000+ donors, imho

We need to average 417k per hours so those servers will be hot, anyone have info.

They need to setup a 503 error page.

They did fine on November the 5th, so I'm assuming there won't be any problems on the 16th.

Yeah but there has been so much advertising and since there are massive bets on this from Sportsbook.com wo will be watching and because of the Nov. 5th money bomb's success, there's going to be other campaigns and other candidate supporters watching. The media is going to be watching. There's been ads out on this, There's promo's on other websites lined up for Dec. 16th. In other words, there is going to be MASSIVE amounts of people watching this (not just us RP supporter's) and going to the site. MASSIVE!

I wrote to the campaign about 3 weeks ago trying to warn them about this and to take appropriate measures to ensure their site could handle the traffic and to make sure the webmaster was on hand for any troubles. Also, there is a high possibility that "others" are going to attempt to bring the site down intentionally.

This definately needs to be addressed. Hopefully they did take heed and just didn't bother to write me back to say they were "on it".

Well if you are concerned, contact them, make sure they are prepared. I'm pretty certain that everything will go smoothly though.

The other thing they should do is contact the bank processing the donations. I thought I saw where the bank ended up having dedicate another server (or something) to process the 11/5 donations. They should be warned that this is going to happen again.

I'm sure they got a handle on it.

Sometimes I'm suprised how much people think the campaign couldn't butter toast.

The Jury is still out on that one. Court room audience is bewildered and unsure of the verdict.

well, coming from web site server background, they need to make sure they have their error pages show alternate links.
