The 'blue' pipeline will (now) never happen...
The 'red' pipeline is about Iran inviting Qatar to share development.
End of story.

Qatar, Iran, French Total gas company and one natural gas field (http://theduran.com/qatar-iran-french-gas-company-one-natural-gas-field/)

Today, the French gas and oil company Total has announced the finalisation of a $4.8 billion deal with Iran to cultivate and develop the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf.

Qatar sits upon the same South Pars oil field in the Persian Gulf as does Iran. The primary reason for Saudi Arabia’s dispute with Qatar were statements attributed to Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in which he spoke positively of Doha’s warming relationship with Tehran.

Of course the warming relationship between Qatar and Iran is not about ideology and never was. Qatar is always going to be a Salafist monarchy (some would say kleptocracy) while Iran will always be a Shi’a Islamic Republic. The real worry for Saudi [and US] is over economics. With the demand for and consequently price of Saudi oil falling, if Qatar and Iran were to mutually cultivate the South Pars natural gas field, this could be a new energy monolith in the region which could further cut into the energy market shares of Saudi Arabia’s state-owned energy company Aramco.

With Qatar clearly ready to be cut off from Saudi Arabia and the UAE for the foreseeable short or even medium term future, it is looking increasingly possible that circumstance might push Qatar directly into Iran’s arms, especially now that the French company Total is about to begin its new gas project in Iran.

As a long term political ally of western states including the US and France, Qatar may in fact hold the key to bridging the economic divide between Iran and economies who do copious amounts of business with the west.

This is the clearest commercial indication yet that Saudi’s attempt to isolate Qatar and Iran from each other and from the wider world has failed miserable.

Although Trump has not accused Israel of being "founder of ISIS" as he did in case of Obama, there has been some strange connections that may explain this:

Israel Rescues Al-Qaeda Terrorists From Syria

Fighters being treated in field hospitals and sent back to front lines

Paul Joseph Watson

Israel is sending military vehicles into Syria to pick up wounded Al-Qaeda terrorists involved in the fight against the Syrian Army before patching them up and sending them back into battle, another startling example of how the Zionist state is working with its supposedly sworn enemies to topple President Bashar Al-Assad.

That’s a not a claim being made by Iranian or Syrian state media, it’s calmly admitted in a report by the staunchly pro-Israel DebkaFile.

“Israel has set up a large field hospital near the Tel Hazakah observation and military post on Golan which overlooks southern Syria and northern Jordan. There, incoming Syrian war wounded are vetted and examined by Israeli army medics who decide whether to patch them up and send them back, or judge them badly hurt enough for hospital care. The seriously hurt are moved to one of the the nearest Israeli hospitals in Safed or Haifa,” states the report.

Syria: The Strange US/Israel/Al-Qaeda Ménage à Trois

Daniel McAdams at 15:44 pm EDT on September 28, 2012

A little more than a week after the extremists linked to Al-Qaeda by our own US government set up and murdered Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced that the United States would send an additional $45 million to the very same Al-Qaeda’s Syrian franchise.
Yes you read that right: The US is sending another $45 million to assist in Syria the same people it is fighting in Afghanistan and the same people who killed US Ambassador Chris Stevens in Libya.
Interestingly, the US, Israel (http://m.forward.com/articles/163169), and Al-Qaeda (http://www.dnaindia.com/world/report_al-qaeda-leader-urges-support-for-ousting-syria-s-assad_1740552) all agree that the rebels in Syria, many of whom are foreign jihadists, must succeed in overthrowing the Assad government. That is like an all-you-can-eat luncheon buffet in front of hungry conspiracy theorists.

back to OP....
so,

Some US media are reporting that President Donald Trump is considering UN Ambassador Nikki Haley for Secretary of State. Rex Tillerson is described as not happy in the job or with his relationship with the White House and the president. Some sources say Secretary Tillerson had not developed working ties with the professional staff at the State Department staff and that US ambassadors overseas were not getting answers to their queries about the official line on various issues. A number of undersecretary posts have not been filled, creating a gap in the department’s decision-making process. The department is therefore not functioning as it should. Haley is the leading candidate for the job, but there are others as well.

Qatar gas production boost challenges Trump’s plan of US dominance (https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/qatar-gas-production-boost-challenges-trumps-plan-us-dominance/)

https://cdn.almasdarnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/qatar-gas-.jpg

Qatar has announced plans to increase natural gas production by 30 percent
thus effectively challenging US President Donald Trump’s goal of “energy dominance.”

State-run Qatar Petroleum CEO Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, told reporters on Tuesday
that Qatar Petroleum intends to raise production from 77 million tonnes of natural gas to 100 million tonnes a year by 2024.
Qatar is making the bold move amid an ongoing crisis after Saudi Arabia led three other countries last month
in severing ties with Doha and imposing an air, land and sea blockade on the Persian Gulf state.
That was followed by the imposition of 13 conditions before ties are restored.

Qatar, dominant global LPG exporter

The LPG announcement by Qatar comes after the company said In April announcement
it was boosting output in the world’s largest gas field – the ‘North Dome’ – off the Gulf state’s northern coast,
which it shares with Iran.
‘South Pars’ is the name for Iran’s share of the gas field.

“The new additional volumes will be secured by doubling the size of the new gas project in the southern sector of the North Field”

The April announcement meant an end to the self-imposed ban on development of the field that it declared in 2005
to give Doha time to study the effect on the reservoir from a rapid rise in output.

Qatar is already the world’s dominant LNG exporter,
and the planned 30 percent hike over the next five to seven years could help it consolidate its grasp on the market.

Biggest ever flood of new supply hits the market - Trump competing with Qatar

The move threatens to add to a projected glut of liquefied natural gas, or LNG,
as a wave of new projects come online in the coming years, including from the US.

With such low production costs and LNG facilities closer to buyers in Europe and Asia,
the Qatari move means US producers could struggle to sell their LNG competitively
and projects still needing finance could struggle to find investors.

Analysts said the move to boost production was partly to do with added competition in the LNG market,
mainly from Australia, the United States and Russia.

Trump administration tries to create headache for Qatar in the LNG market.

In May, the US Commerce Department reached an agreement with Beijing
that allows China state-owned companies a green light to negotiate long-term contracts with U.S. LNG exporters.
While there is no guarantee the Chinese companies will import more American LNG,
they are likely to use the agreement to secure lower prices from Qatar and other exporters.

Iran Factor

“Iran is now set to increase production on the South Pars field,
which means they can up production from their side of the field (North Field)
without destabilizing the geology of the field,”

While the Persian Gulf States accuse Qatar of cooperating too closely with Iran,
their sanctions could push it closer with Tehran on gas production and exports from the shared field.
Analysts say Qatar needs the support of Iran now, more than any time before, to increase production.
