When A Worm Tries to Explain An Eagle

“CIA Director Mike Pompeo believes that the public worship of intelligence leakers like Edward Snowden is at least partly responsible for the rise in intelligence leaks. ‘In some ways, I do think it’s accelerated,’ Pompeo said in a Saturday interview on MSNBC. ‘I think there is a phenomenon, the worship of Edward Snowden…”
Naturally, this being the CIA, we expect neither honesty nor even a firm grip on reality from Dictator-sorry, Director Mike Pompous. But the most recent polls I found on Heroic Ed, far from proving any “public worship,” show that Pompous is way off his meds: only 15% considered Snowden a hero as of last September, and a measly 30% favored pardoning him in January (while 29% wanted him prosecuted as a traitor). These figures should depress and discourage anyone who loves liberty, privacy or even simple decency, regardless of Pompous’ propaganda.
Meanwhile, Pompous takes a stab at explaining whistleblowers, a tough feat given that he not only lacks integrity but cannot even imagine that quality in others: “…those who steal American secrets for the purpose of self-aggrandizement or money or for whatever their motivation may be…”
Behold the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of those who rule us.

WASHINGTON — CIA Director Mike Pompeo says he thinks disclosure of America’s secret intelligence is on the rise, fueled partly by the “worship” of leakers like Edward Snowden.
“In some ways, I do think it’s accelerated,” Pompeo told MSNBC in an interview that aired Saturday. “I think there is a phenomenon, the worship of Edward Snowden, and those who steal American secrets for the purpose of self-aggrandizement or money or for whatever their motivation may be, does seem to be on the increase.”
Pompeo said the United States needs to redouble its efforts to stem leaks of classified information.
“It’s tough. You now have not only nation states trying to steal our stuff, but non-state, hostile intelligence services, well-funded — folks like WikiLeaks, out there trying to steal American secrets for the sole purpose of undermining the United States and democracy,” Pompeo said.
