Ninety. Three. Million.

The sad thing about this statement is that some idiots will believe him. With a population of about 325,000,000, we'd all be killed off in about 4 days. ;)

2114: All firearm deaths

Number of deaths: 33,599
Deaths per 100,000 population: 10.5

To break it down even further.

In 2013, there were 73,505 nonfatal firearm injuries (23.2 injuries per 100,000 U.S. citizens),[2][3] and 33,636 deaths due to "injury by firearms" (10.6 deaths per 100,000 U.S. citizens).[4]

These deaths consisted of 11,208 homicides,[5] 21,175 suicides,[4] 505 deaths due to accidental or negligent discharge of a firearm, and 281 deaths due to firearms use with "undetermined intent".[4]

Of the 2,596,993 total deaths in the US in 2013, 1.3% were related to firearms

Yes, he did but the headline is much juicer and clickbaity, so we ignore the misspeak and continue with the original headline. The question I'd like to know is how many of those 93 died from suicide or self defense? cos I don't really consider deaths from those 2 categories violence.

What about drug war related violence? Drone attacks? Suicides are likely 1/2 of of that statistic, if not more. As though the absence of a gun is going to stop someone from killing themselves.

Actually a reporter corrects him by asking him if that number is correct, and he still repeated the "million" again before finally getting it to just 93.
