Hey there Huck's Army, I know that some of you are out there reading this.

The problem is that I wanted to sign up for Huck's Army forums, and post a similar thread, but I couldn't. Firstly, I had to "apply" to get a forum account (God forbid we allow anyone to discuss freely) and was denied since a simple Google of name will return lots of Ron Paul stuff. Secondly, even if I could get an account, Huck's Army forum rule #2 states clearly: "No Supporting of Opposing Candidates - There are plenty of places online to debate candidates and issues. This forum is for committed supporters to interact and organize in their efforts to elect Mike Huckabee as President."

But you know, that doesn't even bother me, because I know that you guys read this forum anyway, so here's a little 3-part challenge I'd like to offer you:

1) Sign up for this forum. If you're a Huckalurker and hang around here a lot because you want to see what we're up to (which is fine, it's a public forum), then sign up for an account! What you'll find is that we don't pick and choose who can talk and who can't. We welcome all good debate, because debate is how good ideas are born. Once you've done that...

2) Make a post! See, the thing about Ron Paul is that when the opposition comes to discuss something with us, we won't turn him away, we won't ban discussions, and we won't pretend to be "Holier than Thou." We know that Ron Paul's message is so clear and brilliant and stands for everything we love - so we're more than willing to help people who've come to discuss with us to see the light, so-to-speak. So right now, sign up for this forum, and make a post (maybe in the General Politics section - I just wanted this here to get exposure) telling us why Huckabee is so great.

There's just one more part to the challenge, and it's the hardest part yet. I challenge you to sign up for this forum, make a post about why Huckabee is so great, and finally:

3) Try to remain a Huckabee supporter after you hear what we have to say.

You are hereby officially cordially invited by me to come open up a discussion in our home, since I wasn't able to over at yours.

I signed up for Hucks Army two weeks ago. They made me an account, and closed it the next day. I didn't even et a chance to make a post. I'm guessing they googled my name which led them here or to my YouTube account, or, they watch these forums and saw that I was here.

/shrug

All I was going to do is ask them why Huck isn't open with his fund raising. He has a meter on his site, but took it down for:

- Nov 5th
- when he didn't meet his 2 mil goal

-and I know that they will take it down for the 16th. If he was honest , he would leave it up.

Do not attempt to debate with hucks army.

They have mercenaries fresh out of prison enforcing the will of the governor. Why else would he had released more than the surounding six states combined?

I'm going to chime in to say that I support this thread. I've advocated this idea for a while. I hope that it is successful and that we can get a subforum in General Politics for conversations with other candidates' supporters.

If any Huck supporter responds (please post in General Politics), I hope that everyone will be as respectful as possible and try to avoid any unfair attacks on Huckabee. :)

Yes please please PLEASE do this moderators! Open a Huckabee discussion subforum, specifically for Huckabee supporters and former Huckabee supporters. It wouldn't hurt to have an Obama or Clinton subforum as well. Don't lump any candidates together though, I would say, because then arguments go so many directions its impossible to get anywhere. I'll open up a petition in another thread as that's a great idea!

The Bible tells us that a man who can not raise a Godly family is not fit to lead a people.

Mike Huckabee's son was convicted of hanging a stray dog from a tree then beating and torturing it to death. This twisted, vile act committed against a defenseless animal would make a serial killer cringe.

But that didn't stock Huckabee. And it didn't stop Huckabee from trying to bring a concealed weapon into an airport last April.

Mike Huckabee lives in a multi-million dollar mansion built by special interests.

What does the Bible say about Mike Huckabee?

Come on Hucksters? This is an open invite! We won't bite.

I'll even start by throwing out a topic.

Taxes

What is a better plan to eliminate the federal income tax?
A. Replace it with a national sales tax.
B. Repeal the 16th Amendment. Drastically cut spending to a level that an income tax is not needed to generate massive federal revenue.

I vote for B for several reasons...here are two quick ones...

1. Taxes are only part of the problem. Spending is the bigger problem we face today. The Fairtax is revenue neutral. It does nothing to limit the spending in DC.

2. The Fairtax does not repeal the 16th Amendment, and does nothing to prevent Congress from reinstating a new income tax (along with the national sales tax) in the future.

Come on guys, defend your beloved Fairtax and your candidates position!

Come out, come out wherever you are!

If you can't face the facts in the anonymity of the internet, you know that you will never be able to face the facts when you are confronted by the media and by your families.

What will you say to your wife and your children?

What will you say to your 17 year old daughter? Will you tell her, "Honey, don't worry, Mike Huckabee will keep him locked up for life?" Will you be able to live with yourself for lying to her? Will SHE?

Not if Mike Huckabee has anything to say about it.

I just went to http://www.mikehuckabeeforum.com/ and I have to say that they can't take themselves seriously there. They have to understand how they appear to the main stream and that their candidate cannot win if they express their true views - that Huckabee has been chosen by Jesus and all must give praise to Jesus' brother, pastor Huck. But they are absolutely serious about it. I read enough post to make the conclusion that Huchabee isn't a threat at all, he will destroy himself or his supporters will. Someone started a rumor in a post that Huckabee missed church one day and they started posting that Huck had lost his way and they couldn't support him then. It's pretty remarkable. I think that other forum might be a little more normal.

LOL

this was one of my favorites -

We do appreciate all you have done with Internet marketing for your candidate - it has definitely increased our awareness of the impact of grassroots plus Internet.
We do not focus on the web-based aspect as much as others think we ought to, but we have grown our board respectably.

We do moderate our board more aggressively - we feel obligated to do so - we have people of all persuasions logged in and several have complained about rude or vulgar language, and 90% come from Ron Paul supporters- we have been burned over and over again by people saying one thing and doing another so we took a no tolerance policy. You guys out number us 10 or 20 to 1 online. This is not a level playing field - as such we have to be prudent in the moderation of our forums.

And no, we do not "track" where people go with a cookie - How would that work anyway? Seems to me that would take a trojan horse. We are not that advanced nor do we want to be. We do have site metrics software so we have a profile of some user data such as browser type and resolution but nothing as fancy as what was discussed in this thread.

Thanks for the "open invitation" but I do not think that you will get many hits. Most of us have other things going on and probably would rather not bother with posting where there will be no impact.

I am glad I stopped by though - I have found some dialog with RP supporters very helpful in understanding the platform of Paul. I wish I could say most are helpful, but unfortunately the majority of supporters completely alienate others with their tactics and accusations and rude language.

Please do not flame me, because I don't mean that THIS FORUM specifically does that, but most of who I have dealt with online has been less than pleasant. In fact I have been accused of mocking and lying about a post I copied and pasted several weeks ago and I was ridiculed on YouTube when all I did was make some simple observations about the tone of the posts on each message board. This type of behavior is what really turns some people off. I know im gonna hear from you that our moderation methods also turn people off... anyways, life goes on.

Good luck to your candidate, thanks for the opportunity to share, and take care-

2. Governor Huckabee supported internet sales tax in 2001;

3. Governor Huckabee opposed repeal of a sales tax on groceries and medicine in 2002;

8. Governor Huckabee allowed 17% sales tax increase to become law in 2004;

9. Governor Huckabee, by the end of his tenure, was responsible for a 37% higher sales tax in Arkansas, 16% higher motor fuel taxes, and 103% higher cigarette taxes;

10. Governor Huckabee refused to take the pledge to not raise taxes if elected President in 2007;

12. Governor Huckabee is responsible for a 20% increase in the number of state government workers;

13. Governor Huckabee increased and expanded ARKids First which is a massive government program that provides 'free' (i.e. socialized) health coverage for thousands;

14. Governor Huckabee supported the 2003 Republican-initiated (sadly) Medicare prescription drug plan which is a massive and unfunded liability shouldered by us taxpayers. It is the largest new government entitlement program since LBJ;

16. Governor Huckabee supports 'price-gouging' legislation which is just a veiled threat against free enterprise and the free market;

18. Governor Huckabee signed into law Arkansas's first statewide smoking ban against private property establishments. This was a gross violation of private property rights and a huge act of big/nanny government;

19. Governor Huckabee has banned soda from Arkansas public schools and is promoting the big/nanny government agenda of regulating what we eat and drink;

Bottom Line: Governor Mike Huckabee is no conservative and he is no heir to the Goldwater/Reagan legacy of LIMITED GOVERNMENT and INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY AND FREEDOM. Mike Huckabee is a big government tax-and- spender who can't be trusted to uphold the Reagan legacy if elected President

huckabee's CFR link

Here is one paragraph from Huckabee's speech to the CFR on Sept. 28, 2007. He wants to continue the War on Terror and spend OUR money rebuilding a foreign country we ruined with OUR foreign aid money going back for how many years:

quote:
“We have to stop using our active duty forces for nation building and rely on other government agencies for building schools, hospitals, roads, sewage treatment, water filtration, electricity, legal and banking systems. The State Department should be in charge and coordinate with the relevant departments of Energy, Housing, Education, Treasury, Justice, and Transportation."

This should outrage every American! What Constitutional authority do they have spending OUR tax money on ANY foreign country?

This is why Ron Paul's non-interventionism is so badly needed.

WHO GETS THE CONTRACTS FOR ALL THESE PROJECTS??? C'mon, figure it out, who, who, who? Of course, the multi-national corporations who are represented by the membership of the Council on Foreign Relations. This is the military-industrial complex in its' glory. Declare pre-emptive war, destroy their infrastructure which was probably crap to begin with, then make the US taxpayers pay for building it all again. Of course Iraq has plenty of oil, so maybe they can get paid in oil. In either case, the whole thing stinks. If business wants to build things overseas, don't make American taxpayers and soldiers pay the price.
