There needs to be a minimum standard for relevance in the naming of vessels, monuments, and public facilities.

Where I live, they named a highway that bypasses the town after the person who blocked the highway's construction for almost 40 years because it would negatively affect her business holdings in the downtown.

Because she was a politically active republican, they rewrote history to honor her as a champion of economic development for supporting the project after it finally started.

End irrelevant rant.

We don't need a clittoral combat ship. Not unless we are decommissioning on a 2 to 1 and reducing personnel accordingly.

Following the commissioning, Jill Biden, the ship's sponsor and wife of former Vice President Joe Biden, gave the time-honored Navy tradition of ordering the crew to "man our ship and bring her to life!"

Must be an ugly ship if they won't show a picture of it what it looks like.

You're one of the greatest of Americans. They need to name a ship after you.

Pretty much, actually. It's a glorified speedboat (at half a billion each).

Overpriced and useless...

...aptly named.

It also has one of these...

I wonder what kind of helicopter it has in it's hanger.

After checking.... it looks like it has two of these.
