Not sure about that.

I know that the Fox News debate in IA was the one the candidate had to have a certain polling percentage to participate. That was cancelled because his holiness Mitt Romney cancelled.

What's with all the networks?

PBS, C-SPAN, CNN, FoxNews

Are all of these networks covering the debate?

Isn't this the FOX debate that Mitt couldn't make it to? (or backed out of)

And why do they have to put it on 4 different networks at 1pm when everyone's at work?

It's the Des Moines Register's debate

The Des Moines Register's presidential debates have been moved to mid-December from early January.

The Republican debate will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12, and the Democratic debate will follow on Thursday, Dec. 13.

The 90-minute debates will take place at Iowa Public Television's Maytag Auditorium in Johnston, starting at 1 p.m. The events will be broadcast live on the statewide television network and rebroadcast at a later time.

The Register debates have been rescheduled in response to the decisions of the Iowa Democratic and Republican parties to hold the caucuses on Jan. 3 instead of Jan. 14.

This is an entirely different debate. The usual 8 plus Alan Keyes will be in this one.

I have no idea why it's at 1:00 PM CST. It will be broadcast live on PBS stations in Iowa and re-played at 7:00 CST. The debate will be made available to PBS stations nationwide but I don't know if that means they will broadcast it live or delayed or both. I don't know when cspan, fox, and cnn will be running it, either.

The debate is sponsored by the Des Moines Register and will be moderated by Carolyn Washburn, the editor of the Register.

Why 1PM? They want time to cut and spin it for prime time viewers because they are evil.

They need to re-air this in the evening hours so people can actually see it, especially here in Iowa! Ron Paul needs to and will have a another FANTASTIC debate performance! This will be his moment in the sun! With this debate and the Tea Party, we will be in great shape!

OH GOD NO!

Why oh no? It'll be GREAT having Alan Keyes in the debate! Not only will he put more space between Ron Paul and the bookends, but giving another preacher like Keyes an opening can only hurt Huckabee in Iowa (Keyes got 14% in the Iowa caucuses in 2000, and this time around he would be cutting into exactly the same support group that Huckabee's trying to court)

I just checked my tv schedule and the debate WILL be replayed on Iowa Public Television at 7-8:30 PM CT which is our PBS station, so it may replay at that time nationwide as well on your PBS stations. Fox News it playing it at 1 PM CT, but not replaying it at night. It wasn't on my schedule for CNN and C-SPAN, but maybe that will change!
