McCain Hammers Tillerson On Human Rights: Why The Panic? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLcZRDIFA7k)

Sen. John McCain took to the pages of the New York Times to attack Secretary of State Rex Tillerson for suggesting that it is possible that the US national interest and the export of US values abroad may not always coincide. Could McCain's screed have anything to do with developments in Syria, including the Tillerson-Lavrov meeting this week?

John McCain - finding all manner of moral outrage with nations Washington has little influence over, and that McCain seeks a pretext for war with;
Yet the McCain is always willfully blind to the crimes of nations that Washington does have influence with, that act as Washington's vassals or are aligned with Washington, or the crimes of Washington.
John "do what we want or we blow you up" McCain's moral compass: Saudi head-choppers good; Yemen starvation good; Al Qaeda "rebels" good; Netanyahu good; bombing people good; invading nations good; Erdogan good - now bad - now good; Kiev neo-nazi parties good; drone assassinations good; bombing civilian targets Yugoslavia good; starting wars good.
Yes John Death and Destruction McCain is quite the champion of human rights.

From the American Conservative (http://www.theamericanconservative.com/larison/mccains-warped-morality-and-u-s-foreign-policy/):
It is frequently so-called “idealists” that talk the loudest about “values” and human rights while bending over backwards to excuse every excess committed by the U.S. and our allies and clients. They are quick to invoke morality when there is a war to be started against a pariah state, but they seem incapable of acknowledging injustices and wrongs committed by our government and those aligned with us. Moralizing hawks are the first to demand accountability from the states over which Washington has zero influence, and they are typically the very last to demand the same from the states that the U.S. arms and supports. ...
McCain, who has consistently abused the language of “values” and appeals to moral conscience to justify the most destructive and appalling policies of the last twenty years.
The war on Yemen is a perfect example of this. John “Thank God for the Saudis” (https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/06/isis-saudi-arabia-iraq-syria-bandar/373181/) McCain has been and continues to be a leading booster of U.S. support for the Saudi-led war on Yemen. ... complained (http://www.theamericanconservative.com/larison/u-s-backing-for-the-disastrous-war-on-yemen-continues/) that the U.S. wasn’t doing enough to help them. ... dismissing (http://www.theamericanconservative.com/larison/mccains-disgraceful-answers-on-yemen/) the civilian casualties caused by the indiscriminate coalition bombing campaign, McCain has reliably (http://www.theamericanconservative.com/larison/mccains-sickening-defense-of-the-war-on-yemen/) recited (http://www.theamericanconservative.com/larison/mccain-and-grahams-despicable-defense-of-the-war-on-yemen/) Saudi propaganda (http://www.theamericanconservative.com/larison/mccain-and-corker-need-a-geography-lesson/) to provide cover for the war while completely ignoring the catastrophic humanitarian crisis ...

Peter van Buren calls out John the Hypocrite McCain (https://wemeantwell.com/blog/2017/05/09/john-mccain-human-rights-and-our-national-mental-illness/):
offering lip service to rights and human values and democracy as expedients while supporting scum bag dictators as they fit our real needs.
That’s how you got the CIA overthrowing regimes in Iran and throughout Central and South America, why the U.S. supported terrible autocrats in South Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines, and where the roots of American backstopping of non-democratic regimes such as in Egypt, Iraq, and Syria lay. ...
make nice speeches (“Women’s rights are human rights”) in China calling out America’s adversaries while doing nothing to promote those same ideals in America’s allies in places like Saudi Arabia. ...
America’s Crusty Old Man McCain ...
the U.S. waged against the agrarian nation in Vietnam for… no clear purpose. Millions of civilians were killed to “free” them, with aerial bombing taking away their rights to life in the crudest fashion. ...
McCain imagines the U.S. created as something akin to an act of God. ...
let’s chat up some of the Koreans tortured by the U.S.-supported dictator Chung-hee Park, or Filipinos under U.S.-supported Ferdinand Marcos, or the families of those murdered by American drones across the Mideast. Or maybe those still currently under American torture at Guantanamo. Let’s ask the ghosts of those killed by American weapons in (deep breath) Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Haiti, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Chile, Yemen, Libya, Iraq, Syria, Grenada…
The truth? You can’t handle the truth. The truth is the United States maintains a bloody, warist, hypocritical record ...
who is crazier at this point: McCain, who may believe the hogwash he is peddling, or the Americans who read it uncritically.
