This is an interesting video discussing the implication of the IRS being able to decide whether or not you get to keep your own income, and how much you must give.

I think it's a good thought experiment, and it's taken (and morphed a bit) from "The Tale of a Slave" in Anarchy, State, and Utopia

Yes, if you agree to be ruled, it is closer to voluntary slavery.

I was in a forgiving mood, hah.

Considering that any income tax presupposes that the government owns all of your income, I guess it could be said it isn't partial... Or at best, the IRS allows us only to be "partial" slaves.
