I would be open to raising the gas tax, if income and corporate taxes were cut significantly enough to overcome it.

As we would say in the Netherlands: "Here comes the monkey out of the sleeve."*

*Do I have to explain this one ?

Ugh, and this is after I was giving him credit for his plan to cut individual and corporate income tax rates.

Uh no, there is NEVER a reason to raise taxes in the current situation. If they eliminated everything wasteful, pork, and what is prohibited by the Constitution and didn't have enough money to function, then yeah maybe, but even then only in a time of war more than likely. However we are a very long way from shrinking the US government back to where it needs to be.

The best political advice ever, if you don't have anything bad to say about a politician, then don't say anything at all.

Well, I was just using it to point out to my fellow Kansas residents that Republicans in the Kansas State legislature are doing the opposite of what President Trump is trying to do with income taxes, as they're trying to pass a huge income tax increase.
