I was reading the paper the other day and an idea came to me. The story was about how 68 people were arrested for carrying fireworks across state lines. I was thinking how you can't have fireworks, can't smoke in a private business, can't eat trans-fat, need permits to own a gun, burn brush, do construction on your own property. Most of all how the government owns our income, takes some and lets us keep some.
So at a festival, fair, or something, we could have people taking a survey. I think people are more inclined to take a survey than listen about a candidate.
Ask How free do you think you are? or Is this a free country? They will mostly say yes/ I'm free. Then list all the things above, plus other things you can think of.
They will probally change their mind and say what do you think we can do about it?
Then you can mention Ron Paul like, I never had faith in politicians, but this guy opened my eyes to this stuff. And hit a talking point or two and give a flyer.
Any thoughts and any other areas where we aren't that free?

I like it -- I was thinking of a few things along these lines -- other ways to get them interested -- especially kids, who aren't into politics.

Along the lines of someone else's flyer passout suggestion (sorry no source, and not a direct quote):

Do you support the Constitution?

Yes.

Did you know the Patriot Act makes you, as a supporter of the Constitution, an Unlawful Enemy Combatant, and strips you of your right to fair trial if detained?

Wha wha whaaaa??

It would probably help to carry a clipboard.

Here's some relevant info I got via email. I can't verify that it is completely accurate, but THANKS SID FROM TULSA!

Do you think there might be a relationship?

Please think about who you want in the White House in '08. They should be
fore eliminating the IRS, Social Security, Welfare, and other government
programs that are not constitutional. He/she can not be a member of the
Council on Foreign Relations. An organization who is calling for a North
American Union. This union's purpose is exactly like the European Union.
