This will solve all of those niggling little issues about what sites see as the referred site when you click on a link in these here forums. I haven't used it, because I'm on a Mac and I simply do a Command-click on the link which opens the link in a new tab in Firefox eliminating this issue for me. But it looks good.

Control what gets sent as the HTTP Referer on a per-site basis.

You create a list of sites, and the referrer that should be sent for each site. You can choose to send that referrer unconditionally or only for third-party requests. Additionally, you can specify the default behavior for any site not in the list.
Works with:

* Firefox Firefox: 1.0 – 3.0a8

Easier yet, just type about:config in the address bar, and then paste this into filter:

network.http.sendRefererHeader

Then set its value to 0. This prevents referer headers from ever being sent at all in Firefox.
