Is the writer suggesting that Trump would do to Obama/other dems that he accused 'sick/bad' Obama of doing?
Have not validated this story yet but appears to be non-fakenews.

MSNBC: Covering Trump Surveillance Story Helps Russia ‘Undermine’ American Democracy By Kyle Drennen | April 3, 2017 | 5:16 PM EDT

So desperate to discredit a bombshell Bloomberg report (https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-04-03/top-obama-adviser-sought-names-of-trump-associates-in-intel) that former Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice sought to unmask Trump transition officials caught up in intelligence surveillance, on Monday afternoon, MSNBC host Katy Tur outrageously suggested that simply reporting on the story was helping Russia “undermine our democratic institutions.”

During the 2 p.m. ET hour, Tur talked to the journalist who broke the news, Bloomberg View columnist Eli Lake, and tried to dismiss his reporting by conflating it with a blog post from a conspiracy theorist: “Eli, the same details from your report appeared last night in another report by the man who pushed the Pizzagate story. Does that concern you?”
Lake flatly rejected her insinuation: “Well, I have nothing to do – I mean, I was unaware of that when I was reporting my story. I know there are a lot of other mainstream journalists who are reporting it. I don't know how that guy got his information, and I can tell you, it had no effect on my reporting.”
Earlier in the exchange, Tur tried to spin Rice’s request that Donald Trump associates be unmasked as “perfectly routine.” Lake implored viewers to the issue seriously:

And I have to say to the viewers of MSNBC, who I think tend to lean more on the progressive side, I think Democrats should be very concerned about this. Because if the Obama White House can do this during the transition to the Trump transition, then there’s nothing that would stop the Trump administration from doing this to his political opponents, if it’s fairly easy for senior White House officials to do this kind of thing and gather that kind of intelligence if it’s not directly related to, you know, clearly national security foreign intelligence reasons.

The truth undermines American Democracy and helps the Russians. Blame the Russians for the truth getting out.

The entire intelligence report quoted by many can be found here:
https://www.dni.gov/files/documents/ICA_2017_01.pdf

Says basically this:

Russia was trying to undermine American democracy by telling the truth.
If you read it, you'll see, they complain about RT reporting about fracking, wealth disparity and corruption.
They also claim RT hosting the third party debates was an attempt to "undermine liberal American Democracy"

Moscow also saw the election of President elect Trump as a way to achieve an international counterterrorism coalition against
the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

How dare they!

In early September, Putin said publicly it was important the DNC data was exposed to WikiLeaks, calling the search for the source of the leaks a distraction and denying Russian “state level” involvement.

Putin said the Russia thing was a ruse, and that the contents of wikileaks was what was important!??? The BASTARD!

Starting in March 2016, Russian Government linked actors began openly supporting President elect Trump’s candidacy in media... ...consistently cast President elect Trump as the target of unfair coverage from traditional US media outlets that they claimed were subservient to a corrupt political establishment

Pfft! lies! Lies! ALL LIES!

On 6 August, RT published an English language video called “Julian Assange Special: Do WikiLeaks Have the E-mail That’ll Put
Clinton in Prison?” and an exclusive interview with Assange entitled “Clinton and ISIS Funded by the Same Money.” RT’s most popular video
on Secretary Clinton, “How 100% of the Clintons’ ‘Charity’ Went to...Themselves,” had more than 9 million views on social media platforms.

A journalist who is a leading expert on the Internet Research Agency claimed that some social media accounts that appear to be tied to Russia’s professional trolls because they previously were devoted to supporting Russian actions in Ukraine started to advocate for
President elect Trump as early as December 2015.

A "journalist claimed" "appear to be" Yes, this is what our intelligence agencies call evidence.

From August to November 2012, RT ran numerous reports on alleged US election fraud and voting machine vulnerabilities,
contending that US election results cannot be trusted and do not reflect the popular will.

In an effort to highlight the alleged "lack of democracy" in the United States, RT broadcast, hosted, and advertised third party candidate debates and ran reporting supportive of the political agenda of these candidates. The RT hosts asserted that the US two party system does not represent the views of at least one third of the population and is a "sham."

Puh! Preposterous Russian propaganda, the two party system is the definition of democracy! Zippyjuan voted for Gary Johnson, so he claims. I bet he is happy RT hosted the third party debates (he isn't).

RT has also focused on criticism of the US economic system, US currency policy, alleged Wall Street greed, and the US national debt. Some of RT's hosts have compared the United States to Imperial Rome and have predicted that government corruption and "corporate greed" will lead to US financial collapse (RT, 31 October, 4 November).

Hence, Ron Paul Institute on the list of Russian Propaganda outlets... (P.S. Russia will be debt free in about a month).

RT is a leading media voice opposing Western intervention in the Syrian conflict and blaming the West for waging "information wars" against the Syrian Government (RT, 10 October 9 November).

UMAD CIA, CIA, UMAD!?

Having Russia as the villain was a really poor choice made by the establishment. For the past 20+ years Muslims and Arabs had been the number 1 villain for the media propaganda,it is really hard to break out of that kind of conditioning in such a short time span, not that they had much of a choice. The only other possibilities were the Chinese,Arabs or Latinos and Trump has been going hard against all tree of those groups, targeting any of those groups would only strengthen him while going after him as an Israeli puppet is a non-starter.

But their problem with the anti-Russia propaganda is that they really don't have an audience nor time and their message is kind of all over the place. If they were planning to just build on the old anti-Soviet propaganda they made a huge miscalculation. The core audience of that propaganda is not only shrinking with each day because it was from almost 30 years ago but it was also conservatives and republicans ,who today hate the media and would not trust them if they said that the sky is blue. It would take time to condition the liberals to all out Russia hate especially because they also have a lot of old intellectual leftists in their ranks and that is time they don't have.

So all they can do currently is keep trowing shit on the wall hopping it would stick before it all goes down.

And now they are trying to say Russia has secret contacts with the Marine LePen's coming presidential upset in France that is sure to occur. Also blaming the refugee rape wave on Russia, actually asserting that Putin was ordering the rapes. It's getting ludicrous.

To be fair, they had not covered James Woods' GFH news previously either.

James Woods on Obama: He’s the ‘gift from hell that keeps on giving’ (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?428515-James-Woods-on-Obama-He%E2%80%99s-the-%E2%80%98gift-from-hell%E2%80%99&)

The Washington Times Thursday, September 12, 2013
(http://www.washingtontimes.com/multimedia/image/9_4_2013_ap1202290336308201jpg/)
The latest came this week, in response to a report from British press that revealed the National Security Agency commonly provides Israel with intelligence data — without first stripping out private and personal information on American citizens. The Guardian in London reported the item, the latest in its coverage of document leaks from Edward Snowden.
Mr. Woods unleashed his views of the matter — and of Mr. Obama's role in allowing the practice to occur — on Twitter.
He wrote: "Report: Data on Americans shared with Israel ... Obama: the gift from hell that keeps on giving."

In January and in February the Washington Post reported "unmasked" identities of US citizen(s)
with the source . . . "according to a senior (Obama administration) official"

Gowdy with Comey agrees that it is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in a federal prison to unlawfully disseminate such intel.
It seems Mika and the MSNBC crew will need to try and also censor CSPAN - "to save democracy"
