Anybody have any favorites? Is the Libertarian Party sitting this race out? There will be a top 2 run-off if no one gets over 50%.

President Donald Trump’s decision to tap U.S. Rep. Tom Price as his health and human services secretary has triggered a scramble to represent his solidly-conservative suburban Atlanta district.
A former statewide officeholder, several current and former lawmakers and a handful of wealthy political newcomers are among the candidates running to replace the six-term Roswell Republican.
Some analysts are predicting the race to represent the 6th District, an affluent swath of the metro Atlanta suburbs that stretches from north DeKalb and Fulton counties to east Cobb, to be one of the most crowded and expensive special election contests in Georgia history.
It’s a challenging district for the dozen or so potential Republican candidates eyeing the race. Although Price won his six terms with relative ease, many of the Republicans in the establishment-friendly north Atlanta suburbs spurned Trump.
The DCCC is dumping a lot of money into this race. They are wanting to use it to promote a "2018 wave".

That area is actually fairly libertarian. This would be a good race for the LP to sink some money into but it doesn't appear that's going to happen.

LP is probably more focused on getting a Lindsey Graham and Oprah Winfrey ticket to run under their banner for POTUS in 2020. That assumes that McMuffin is not available. Either way, it will get massive media attention and big fundraising.

I thought I read it's socially conservative. Not sure how well Chase will fare there.

All the folks I know who live in east Cobb would probably identify as socially conservative but I seriously doubt they would take issue with a gay rep. Hell, if I were polled, I would identify as socially conservative but that doesn't mean I think my values should be forced on anyone. Ron Paul would probably identify as socially conservative, too. That district has a definite libertarian bent.
Sandy Springs is in that district, btw.

His open borders/sanctuary city position might be controversial.

Those issues would be but I was speaking in general and thought you were referring to his gayness.
I didn't even read where he stood on the issues. I just saw your post and was surprised an LPer wasn't making a run for it in that district and googled.

Looks like the Dems are making a serious play for the 6th district.
VERIFY: Is Jon Ossoff's campaign funded from outside of Georgia?
It seems the biggest insult you can say about someone wanting to represent us in Washington is that the candidate represents Washington, not us. That’s the charge being leveled by Republicans at 6th district frontrunner Jon Ossoff.
For example, here’s what Karen Handel said at Wednesday’s debate, “Let’s be realistic, $4 million was not raised in $10, $20, $30 increments. It is being bankrolled by Nancy Pelosi and the liberal left.”
Ossoff’s response: “I’m proud that I have built a diverse coalition that spans the political spectrum here in Georgia.”
11Alive can now verify where Ossoff's money is coming from. Ossoff’s campaign finance disclosures were released on Thursday, and 11Alive reporter Matt Pearl pored over them.
The data comes straight from the Federal Election Commission. The overall fundraising numbers are shocking, but so is the amount of fundraising that has come from outside our state.
Let’s start with the overall numbers. Ossoff’s campaign has raised a remarkable $8.3 million in just three months.
For context, that’s more than former 6th District Congressman Tom Price raised in his last three campaigns spanning six years.
But nearly all of that money has come thanks to a progressive non-profit named ActBlue. They offer “simple, intuitive tools” to help “Democratic campaigns get more donations”. The left-leaning web site Daily Kos has set up an online ActBlue portal to donate to Ossoff.

No room for a 3rd party here:

The GOP is also running ads in KS-04 and Mike Pence robocalls. Not the kind of money that is going into GA-06, but KS-04 is R+15
The district is 70% white tho.
Going off some of the stuff floating around that makes sense, but may or may not be true- the attempts to pass AHCA + aggressive ad campaigns are boosting the polling for the D candidates. Passing AHCA as it was originally written would not affect many of the R's in that district because they already get good plans from their employers. GOP leadership saw the money coming into the race almost immediately after election day and wanted to get AHCA passed 2 weeks ago so it wouldn't be as much of a hot button issue for the election.
