Hello!

I am in the process of printing out 1,000 postcards to mail.

I need to know if I should change this text on the back:

"Authorized and paid for by Ron Paul 2008 Presidential Campaign Committee"

to something else?

If so, to what?

Also, do I need to register this with any organization? I don't want to besmirch Ron Paul's campaign by not complying with any laws that may apply.

Thanks for your help and expertise!

I'm not a lawyer, but I play one on the internet. :)

I'd say that if you are paying for them, it's an independent expenditure. I would change the "Paid for by..." to your name or organization. Authorized probably doesn't matter because the campaign is not paying for them - but leave it on if you like to establish who is resposible for the deisng (I'm assuming you downloaded cards from the official site).

Hope that helps!

Still, can anyone tell me if I need to register this with the FEC?

If it is a personal expenditure over $250, it may need to be registered with the FEC. That's one of the great questions we are waiting to be answered about people buying ad time on the blimp. I am 99.99999997% sure that is an issue that if it has to be addressed at all, it is only at tax time. :)

No, it's through a chip-in. The most anyone gave was $100.00.
