A libertarian President would be a step in the right direction but a long shot to solving all problems. We can pardon everyone for unconstitutional crimes but the next president can always illegally reverse the pardons. Plus the laws are still on the books with Congress. Congressmen are most career politician attorneys. They will never repeal large volumes of laws as their field will never any ability to profit off of litigation. Plus you can veto spending bills but then Congress overrides the veto. Let's assume that by some miracle Congress goes along with massive law repealing. You will have lobbyists going out into the streets and protesting. You let them protest because of free speech but then they riot. So you send in the police against all your wishes but then they call you a dictator even though you tried to liberate the country. You can try State Nullification but you need massive amounts of nullification laws. On foreign policy, you can issue an executive order to get out of the UN but then there might be a lawsuit against you for the executive order being "illegal". You can bring home all the troops but the CIA or someone might assassinate you. This does not mean we shouldnt try but just a reminder of the challenges we are up against.

Wouldnt that be nice

I guess the best thing would be to get a libertarian President to lobby for State Nullification laws that way the blne won't go back to the President.
