The best way to describe #pizzagate (https://steemit.com/trending/pizzagate) is as a collection of emails and social media, such as Instagram and Twitter, which arose out former Hillary Clinton chief of staff John Podesta's emails. (https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/) The emails were published by Wikileaks in 2016. The authenticity of the emails has never been challenged by Podesta, and Wikileaks continues its record of 100% authenticity in its leaks.
The single best overview I have found is at DCPizzagate (https://dcpizzagate.wordpress.com/2016/11/07/first-blog-post/), a blog. There you will find disturbing images and "art" which is in the home of John Podesta's brother Tony, a high-powered DC lobbyist, as well as images from avowed friends of the Podesta's, including a DC pizza shop owner who was given the distinction by Esquire Magazine of being one of DC's "50 Most Powerful People."

This blogger (https://dcpizzagate.wordpress.com/2016/11/07/first-blog-post/) does an admirable job of hedging any conclusions and pointing out that, at most, pizzagate consists of a pattern of evidence which may warrant an investigation, nothing more. But nothing less, either.
Although a relentless campaign is ongoing to label #pizzagate (https://steemit.com/trending/pizzagate) as "debunked," the debunks never question the authenticity of the images or communications. One point which the debunkers hang their hat on is that, contrary to a rumor that there was a basement in the now renown pizza shop, the owner has said it doesn't even have a basement. However, in this interview with Washington's Metro Weekley (http://www.metroweekly.com/2015/04/from-scratch-james-alefantis/), a basement is described by the owner, who says:
"we harvest a whole crop of organic tomatoes — 10 tons of tomatoes every year. Can them all, store them in the basement, have like a harvest party when it gets loaded in."
It is not really important whether there is actually a basement or not. It is important that the major media ignores all evidence contrary to its "debunks."
In a recent development, a Youtuber has posted what she says is a voice comparison of John Podesta telling a reporter to "get lost" and a video which she claims has been unearthed from the bowels of the child exploitation industry. The sounds of any children are masked as too disturbing, and the voice of a man is isolated. The important thing here is that voices are well-known to have a "print" as distinct and reliable as a fingerprint, when analyzed by a forensics expert. It could be determined to a high level of confidence, at least enough to trigger further investigation, whether this is Podesta or not.
The Wikileaks Podesta emails are a treasure trove of the Podesta brothers' social connections involving strange, obviously coded talk referring to "pizza," linked to strange and disturbing images. Law enforcement stumbling upon this in any other context, except involving the rich and powerful in DC, would be hard pressed not to conduct at least a casual preliminary investigation. In 2013, libertarian activist Adam Kokesh posted a Youtube of himself (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sAGGoPidEY) loading a shotgun illegally within Washington DC city limits, and was immediately investigated by the DC police, arrested, and prosecuted. So it is not true that you cannot initiate a criminal investigation based on a Youtube. And Kokesh's video was harmless.
At best what #pizzagate (https://steemit.com/trending/pizzagate) exposes is a set of individuals with peculiar if not horrifying taste. At worst we don't know. The below video may be the first possible actionable criminal evidence related to #pizzagate (https://steemit.com/trending/pizzagate).
