Type in any search you want into the search bar and it works fine...but mix in the words "Ron Paul" and all of a sudden the search is "down"

What

the

fuck....

seriously!?

Facebook & YouTube bend to corporate influence more often than you know. If you knew the truth, you would probably move to New Zealand.

Don't blow things out of proportion.

Facebook search hasn't worked right for me all day. I tried to find people who liked Frank Sinatra and search wasn't available. Same deal with the movie "Man of the Century." I doubt they're being censored by facebook as well.

Search "Paul" on facebook and Ron Paul comes up as the top 3.

Search "Ron" or "Ron Paul" and if fails.

damn.

Yep, type in anything and it works

But mix in "ron paul" and it doesn't

seriously, just type in gibberish, then add "ron paul" and it'll break it

We should do something about this - maybe contact advertisers or something?

Any ideas of how we fix this?

Test it more (try other candidates) and if this continues and seems like a legit censorship, make your case and shoot a note to techcrunch.com. They covered it before:

http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/11/22/is-facebook-really-censoring-search-when-it-suits-them/

Make screenshots. Record your screen.

I agree with Energy, start emailing techcrunch. Let Facebook try their bs response again.

This is BS. They already did this to us once... I think 500 of us sent in complaints because it was working within an hour after it got posted on this forum. Guess I'll be sending in another complaint about now...

Done! =) I think everyone should get on this... Ron Paul is getting a lot of support from young people and college people and these are the largest groups of people using facebook. We can't allow his name to be unsearchable.

Wait, wait, wait, let's not TELL facebook we know.

We don't need facebook as bad anymore, anyways. But the publicity of a irate Ron Paul following vs. facebook would be big. This really is F'd up . . . . I vote no to complaining to facebook. We could use this, I'm sure. Does anyone else agree? Or am I batty?

I've searched for other people and had it been consistently down. Not people who were of any relevance to politics or would in any way be censored. I think there is a search bug of some sort.
