Every year for the past 7 years I sent an e-mail to Dr. Paul telling him to run for President. He finally surrendered to my bombardment and ran, and now here we are.

I remember telling a conservative cop friend of mine at work that I'd be going for Ron Paul if he decides to run...that was a year ago

He said he liked Tancredo and that I know a lot about politics and should study poli sci, I told him I would rather make money so that I could actually help people

so who really started the movement?

A very small group of really pissed off freedom loving men in the 1700s.

Well Bill Dumas had the first meetup group out in Pasadena and had it posted on Ron Pauls website.. THAT was the beginning of the meetup groups at least.

I started the whole standing on corners with signs thing. If you don't believe me check my youtube channel. I'd also like to take credit for blimp. I made a post a couple days before they were a business suggesting a blimp business. Of coarse I'm just joking with all this, well taking credit for it anyway. We all play our part. Who knows what influence our actions have? We all add to the Revolution.

I noticed it on January 13th when he formed his exploratory committee. I have it on good authority that someone I told about it told someone who told someone who wrote a blog post about it.

All things considered, a lot of the credit should probably go to Lew Rockwell.

It was stated with Goldwater, blossomed with Reagan, peaked with the '94 sweep and fizzled out with dissapointment shortly thereafter. The Paul candidacy has brought a bunch of new folks along, for better or worse. I think some of them will continue forward post-Paul, but I think many of them are on board for single issues (war, drugs, 911) and those folks will be long gone after this election cycle if Paul fails to capture the nomination.

When I was born in 1986 I didn't cry. I just uttered a simple phrase: "Ron Paul For Prez 08". Ron Paul heard of this, but mistakenly thought I said 88. Thus the prophecy was not fulfilled in his libertarian bid. But the mistake was realized, and thus the revolution began.

I think some of the credit should go to the Bush administration. They took it to far.

But who designed the Revolution Stencil?

Ron Paul is a great symbol for the movement, cause his life story really is epitomy of the American Dream. Ron Paul is like a tall tale come to life,it's why he's such a magnetic personality.

He's pretty amazing.

You nailed it.

If we want to make a difference long term, we need to seek power. Work hard, rise in your career, start a business, get involved with local politics, network, make money, etc. A bunch of broke hippies will be powerless to restore freedom. :) Too bad, cause being a broke hippie is so stress-free...

It goes back a long long time.

A great introduction to the history and struggy for liberty is Ralph Raico's 15 hour (10 part) lecture series on 'The Struggle for Liberty'. It is available for free download in the media section at Mises.org

But if the question is intended to refer to a catalyzing moment in this movement, for me it was the internet polls after the first Republican debate. At that point I knew something remarkable was going on.

That kick-started much of the buzz that has continued until today.

I don't think we would actually know the real answer to this because there is always going to be people with ego's who will take credit. We know that Ronpaulforums, Avaroth, Steve Dasbach, and Trevor Lyman advanced the movement but who's idea it was we will never know.

One place to start would be the spambot's.:D:D:D
