The process can take up to two years.

For the lucky few this is where the long road to the U.S. begins. Everyday thousands of Syrian refugees line up here in Amman, Jordan, to register with the U.N.

Every single refugee is interviewed in detail multiple times by the U.N. for their vital statistics: where they came from, who they know.

Their irises are scanned to establish their identity.

And then they wait for the chance the U.N. might refer them to the United States. Less than one percent have had that chance.

For that one percent the next step has been this State Department resettlement center in Amman for a background check led by specially trained Department of Homeland Security interrogators.

Like all Syrian refugees being vetted this family was questioned at least three times by interviewers looking for gaps or inconsistencies in their stories.

All that information is then run though U.S. security databases for any red flags. To be a refugee in Jordan is to be patient. The U.S. security check goes on an average of 18-24 months.

Those who pass are then told to pack up for their new life in the United States.

Trump’s Immigration Ban Is Illegal

"appellants claim the discrimination violates 8 U.S.C. Sec. 1152(a) of the INA. This section provides "no person shall ... be discriminated against in the issuance of an immigrant visa because of the person's ... nationality ... or place of residence." Appellants argue that the Department violated the statute in drawing an explicit distinction between Vietnamese nationals and nationals of other countries when refusing to process the visas of the screened out Vietnamese immigrants. Appellants assert this statute compels this court to invalidate any attempt to draw a distinction based on nationality in the issuance of visas. In contrast, appellees urge us to adopt the position that so long as they possess a rational basis for making the distinction, they are not in violation of the statute. Appellees maintain the goal of encouraging voluntary repatriation and the aims of the CPA certainly provide a rational basis for the practices and policies in question.

We agree with appellants' interpretation of the statute. Congress could hardly have chosen more explicit language. While we need not decide in the case before us whether the State Department could never justify an exception under the provision, such a justification, if possible at all, must be most compelling--perhaps a national emergency. We cannot rewrite a statutory provision which by its own terms provides no exceptions or qualifications simply on a preferred "rational basis." Cf. Haitian Refugee Ctr. v. Civiletti, 503 F.Supp. 442, 453 (S.D.Fla.1980) (under 8 U.S.C. Sec. 1152(a), INS has no authority to discriminate on the basis of national origin, except perhaps by promulgating regulations in a time of national emergency).

Trump's ban is not going away. And he is starting to make safe zones. In three month watch that replace refugee program.

Also judges are going to rule Trump's way. I have yet see government lose in these disputes. Just because lefty communist parasites riot won't change the outcome. If they need to they will remove as many people and judges to make it work.

It will be substantially watered down. Even "conservative" judges will rule against him.

Justice Dept. lawyer says 100,000 visas revoked under travel ban; State Dept. says about 60,000

More than 100,000 visas have been revoked as a result of President Trump’s ban on travel from seven predominantly Muslim countries, an attorney for the government asserted Friday in federal court in Alexandria, Va.

The number came out during a hearing in a lawsuit by two Yemeni brothers who arrived at Dulles International Airport last Saturday and were quickly put on a return flight to Ethi*o*pia because of the new restrictions. While the government is working to resolve that case and return the brothers to the United States, lawyers at the hearing addressed the broader impact of the ban.

The 100,000 figure was immediately disputed by the State Department, which said the number of visas revoked was roughly 60,000. A spokeswoman said the revocations have no impact on the legal status of people already in the United States. If those people leave the United States, though, their visas will no longer be valid.

Immigrant advocates, attorneys and the media have been pushing the Trump administration to offer an accounting of how many people were affected by the controversial executive order.

In response to a question from a judge, Erez Reuveni, of the Justice Department’s Office of Immigration Litigation, told the U.S. District Court that there were tens of thousands abroad holding visas when Trump signed his order a week ago.

Trump doesn't seem to know how VISAs work. VISAs are not gotten in a week, it takes months if not years to apply for and get called for an interview. This is especially true when you are coming from a country like Syria, Libya, Sudan essentially any place without a VISA program with the US. They cannot just rush into the US if they did not already have their papers.

Nope. He is talking about people who already have visas.
