Seating should be assigned per political preference. Would you like a liberal or conservative section? Government needs to address this and legislate this crucial issue. This could end up with people going hungry. This is a civil rights issue. People getting evicted off of planes or denied food or clothing because of their party affiliation. This is outrageous!

Is there any video showing what led up to the booting?

Yah she was annoying. On a plane, you cant just walk away so I suppose you have a right to be left alone.

Was he verbally "assaulted" or physically?

But I didnt think what she was doing, while a pain in the ass, was that serious?

She was causing problems with other passengers on an aircraft. The captain decided she needed a "time out" and had her removed. He was right. I'd have done the same. Another paying passenger doesn't deserve to be harangued by this harridan. She was out of line and deserved what she got.

Right, so I take it that there are different rules which govern behavior on a plane.

As long as she wasnt physical, I dont think I really have a problem with her behavior if she was simply being annoying.

I mean, we do have the freedom to be assholes, generally speaking.

ProBlue33
01-23-2017, 11:39 AM
Here is the point, on a plane, if you are asked to stop, you need to stop because the person can't leave, they are trapped.
So if the Captain thinks you have the potential to cause problems on his flight he can make that call.

So what do you do if a white male is sitting quietly with a MAGA red hat, he is surrounded by angry feminists that are protesting Trump and they are complaining to the Captain.
This political garbage is getting out of hand, and really starting to effect everyday life now.

With that type of thinking her travel should be restricted to greyhound.

Why? Gravity and flatness of the Earth has no bearing on anything we do, including taking a flight. It is just a belief. It does not change anything.

Yeah, I did not think it was that bad. The problem is the order mentality of everyone these days. Right away, the airline jumped to the highest measure it could take, which is ejecting someone.

Guy wears a shirt. Big deal. You might expect someone to engage you. Woman was a cunny for sure, but she was so emotional that logical words could have made a fool of her. I'm sure the guy was probably concerned that he might also get ejected if he even engaged her.

Sensitive society on display.

No one is harmless at 39,000 feet. A pilot weighs the situation. On that day he decided "not on my flight." I believe he made the right decision. I would have done the same.

Do you believe that another paying passenger should have been forced to sit next to her bitching for the duration of the flight?

Feel however you wish. But, I believe anyone that has 100 souls depending upon them and their good judgement would have done the same. And you didn't answer my question. Would have you thought you got your values worth by having to sit beside a haranguing harridan the length of your flight?

I can see that, but I think they just really jumped the gun. The issue did not seem that difficult to resolve and it would not have been too hard to shut up the old woman. I just choose my battles. If I am that guy, I might have tried to use the situation to get a first class seat or something like that.

Speaking of battles, I would expect someone to engage me with a political shirt. Here's a story. I used to wear this shirt that said "Fuck the draft." I had it custom made. Okay, it was not actually a draft because that had long ended, but "selective service" did not sound as good.

So, I used to wear this shirt in places like retail stores. Got some looks, but no one said anything. I used to party with this one guy who was an instigator. We're both drunk, and he says, "Hey NCL, fuck the draft!"

The funny thing is I woke up the next morning wearing a different shirt. I never found my shirt again. I think some girl actually switched shirts because she thought it too provocative. And maybe it was just a matter of time before someone got ticked and knocked me out. lol

Leaving all other musings aside, would you, as a pilot, wish to set the precedent that all passengers should be able to get other passengers moved around because of "whatever?"
Passengers are boarding. You are going through your final checklist with your co-pilot. Making sure that the plane is in operational order for defying the bounds of gravity.
Passenger A doesn't want to sit next to passenger B because the are too fat. Passenger C doesn't want to sit next to passenger D because they "look sketchy." Passenger E doesn't want to sit next to passenger F because because passenger E prefers passengers F window seat.
No. Board. Shut the fuck up. Go from point A to point B. Then bitch and moan all you want.
The pilot has more to worry about than playing musical chairs.

Pilot should have not been involved. It was not that big a deal to that point.

Freedom from government retribution. In a free society a private airline would have the right to remove any passenger for whatever reason. They could ban all Trump supporters if they wanted. However the passenger might be able to sue for damages if he missed something important.

Phill is right...it's a sad fucking commentary on where we are in the land of the free, but the slightest bit of "backtalk" and your ass is gone.

The airlines and the crew and the PIC (pilot in command) will not hesitate for one second to leave your ass behind, and the bosses, the cops and the government will back them up 100 percent, if you show the slightest bit of non compliance.

I fly quite a bit and I'm stunned that booze has not been banned outright.

Flying, in the land of the free, is lot like going to prison for a few hours.

Shuffle along, don't make eye contact, don't make waves, sit down, strap in and shut the fuck up until you can get the hell off.

It is truly a miserable experience for anybody with any sense of personal autonomy and individual liberty, from the initial gate rape to the final sneering cops as you leave the terminal.

Now, your typical AmeriKunt doesn't care, they are used to being bossed around and herded up like cattle.

I don't think the airline handled this properly.
1. Only the wife should have been asked to leave the plane. If he chooses to de-board, he should be required to purchase a new ticket at prevailing rates.
2. If a passenger creates a disturbance and is escorted off a plane, it should be the passengers sole responsibility to acquire new transportation from that point forward and the airline that refused service should be under no obligation to grant them passage at any time in the future.
