Heard yesterday that more religious Christians voted for Trump than last three Republican Presidents.
I doubt anyone expected that?

Obama turned out to be a gift from hell for the Democratic Party (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?506320-Obama-turned-out-to-be-a-gift-from-hell-for-the-Democratic-Party&)

Obama's Legacy: The Total Destruction Of The Democratic Party

Republicans today hold 31 out of 45 lieutenant governor offices – with three open-seat victories and two re-elections on Tuesday.

GOP control of 69/99 of the state legislatures (Nebraska’s is unicameral) is an all-time high, and after the 2014 midterms, Republicans had the most state-elected lawmakers in office since 1920. With the results of the 2016 elections, the Republican Party is the dominant political force in the country. President-elect Trump will preside over unprecedented levels of Republican power in office.
Democrats seem to know this, as Guy noted they’re willing to use the last of their positions in power to hold the line on Obamacare (http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2016/11/11/yes-please-democrats-plan-to-go-to-war-to-protect-obamacare-n2244163), which certainly contributed to Clinton’s defeat. That, and not being able to inject enthusiasm into the Obama coalition, couple with scores of Obama voters flipping for Trump. The collapse of the Democratic Party could be a brutal ordeal, (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/democratic-party-future_us_5824caf6e4b0c56101d5ec05) according to Huffington Post’s Zach Carter

How Trump’s Inauguration Will Catalyze Christian Witness

http://www.christianitytoday.com/images/66470.jpg?w=40Katelyn Beaty

Today, on the steps of the United States Capitol, Donald John Trump will place his left hand on a Bible and swear to “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States for the next four years.” Most incoming presidents in US history have done the same, although each has chosen his own passage (http://www.christianitytoday.com/history/2009/january/inaugural-scriptures.html) to swear by. 1 Corinthians 13 was the choice of Franklin D. Roosevelt at all four of his inaugural ceremonies. Jimmy Carter chose to swear on the exhortations of Micah 6:8. At his second inauguration, Abraham Lincoln, keenly aware of the disgrace of brothers and neighbors turning their weapons on each other, chose not one but three passages concerning the judgments of God.

I suspect that many white evangelicals voted for Trump (http://www.christianitytoday.com/gleanings/2016/november/trump-elected-president-thanks-to-4-in-5-white-evangelicals.html) because they too feel disempowered, culturally if not economically. They feared, legitimately, that a presidency under Trump’s opponent would hamper the liberties of faith-based institutions and would further ensure access to legalized abortion nationwide, despite successful pro-life efforts on the state level. Despite concerns about Trump’s character and speech, about 4 in 5 white voting evangelicals supported Trump, and more than half said they did so to prevent further loss of influence on such matters under Hillary Clinton. Time—and, I predict, not much time—will tell whether President Trump has the political will or influence to effect the changes they want to see.

EM

Maybe so but his peoples on the ground very much gave a hoot and turned out in record numbers to get Trump elected.

It was a political statement and not religious one.

Well we didn't give God much to work with, but I'm glad something was finally able to humble the arrogant ruling Democrats.

Most Evangelical Christians hated Trump. But when the left declares certain parts of the Bible to be hate speech then it's not surprising that they tried their hardest to stop Hillary in whatever way they could.

Got a link for that?

Heard that on a media outlet yesterday that is known to push fakish propaganda also sometimes (NBC).
But in this case, other sources seem to validate it:

Trump Elected President, Thanks to 4 in 5 White Evangelicals

Not too surprising considering that Trump branded himself as the most vocal critic of this destructive situation:

After that, Trump could do no wrong... could shoot someone in Time Square and still be liked by his supporters given their strong dislike of Obama-Hillary cabal.

Could be true from non-satirical angle also.
If this is confirmed, may be pollsters could be spared from all the bashing that has been going on.

Franklin Graham, who said God intervened in Trump’s election win, tapped to pray at inauguration

President-elect Donald Trump and North Carolina evangelist Franklin Graham both spoke at a Trump “Thank You” rally in Mobile last week. Graham will be among six clergy who will pray at Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration.
By Tim Funk

North Carolina evangelist Franklin Graham, who came under fire the last time he gave the prayer at a presidential inauguration, is among six clergy who will pray and offer readings at Donald Trump's Jan. 20 ceremony at the U.S. Capitol.
