Pretty messed up for this lady.

Italian law enforcement worked with the CIA to perform the kidnapping:

A small car purred alongside him. Then a big white van. An Italian law enforcement official, who was collaborating with the CIA team, stepped out of the car and asked to see Omar’s identification (https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/kidnapping-unravels-a-spys-career/2012/07/11/gJQAJreAeW_story.html?utm_term=.194448aabfcd).

Hillary Clinton is throwing this person under the bus for no reason.

I could see Trump seriously getting in the middle of this one. Get the lowdown, talk to head of CIA, and if he doesn't get satisfaction start tweeting like a mad man.

Italy cancels former CIA agent's extradition from Portugal in Muslim abduction case

A former CIA agent set to be extradited from Portugal to Italy over the kidnapping of a Muslim cleric won a last-minute reprieve on Wednesday, her lawyer said.

Sabrina de Sousa was one of 26 people convicted in absentia for the 2003 abduction of radical Egyptian cleric Osama Mustapha Hassan Nasr, also known as Abu Omar. He was then transported him to his native Egypt for interrogation where he says he was tortured.

"She was in the airport this morning to be handed over to Italy, but is no longer there. She is not free yet, but will be released today," De Sousa's lawyer, Manuel Magalhaes e Silva, told Reuters.

"The Milan prosecutor revoked the detention order. The Italian Interpol agents who are here to extradite her have been informed and the extradition is no longer happening."

The canceled extradition, set to happen Wednesday morning, marks a second legal victory this week for the 61-year-old woman, who holds dual Portugese-U.S. citizenship.

On Tuesday she received a "partial pardon" from Italy's President Sergio Mattarella for her alleged part in a CIA program that kidnapped suspects for interrogation.

Under Italian law, the sentence reduction means De Sousa does not have to spend time in prison, according to her Portuguese attorney, Manuel Magalhaes e Silva.

The White House -- which previously said it was "trying to intervene" -- did not respond to requests for comment Tuesday over the reduced sentence. De Sousa and her lawyer had hoped the Trump administration could block the extradition.

"We have seen reports that Italian President Mattarella has issued a partial pardon for Sabrina De Sousa," Mark Toner, acting State Department spokesperson, said in a statement. "We welcome President Mattarella's action in this case."
