New York Times to ban Term FakeNews !
According to Rush Limbaugh (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTH5y2ny3gM), the New York Times will no use the term “fake news”. Seems the left’s “fake news” campaign to discredit alternative competing media outlets has backfired on them. Charges of “fake news” began soon after the Presidential election was over as an excuse for Hillary Clinton’s defeat (http://fakenews.news/2016/12/09/hillary-clinton-warns-fake-news/).

I like this quote from the OP link:

Perhaps President Trump can call a reporter “racist” at his next news conference?

I like this quote from the OP link:
Or better yet, "a racist purveyor of fake news."

Hah, I had a feeling this would happen.

When I started seeing "fake news" in the headlines around here at first I thought it was describing NYTimes and CNN. Then I find out those are the organizations charging alternative news outlets with peddling fake news, which is quite ironic considering CNN, NYTimes, Politico and others are the biggest peddlers of fake news.

They are dying.. they are going to fight really hard, they are going to consolidate power, but they just don't have facts reason and evidence on their side and there is a reason people are now referring to the mainstream media as the legacy media.

I wonder how they will handle a report that needs to quote President Trump . . . "You are fake news"

Corporate media, dinosaur media, legacy media. Meh, Fake News has the right touch to it.

In other news, NYT has also banned terms "yellow cake", "Iraq has WNDs", "Iraq has Al Qaeda", "Judith Miller eats yellow cake".

about half-way down

Dean Baquet, executive editor of the New York Times, told The Daily Beast he agrees with Sullivan, a former Times public editor, and said he’s planning to ban the term “fake news” from the media columns of his paper.

“I never really liked the term—it’s an oxymoron,” Baquet said. “I think we should retire the term. It has become a shorthand for a whole range of stuff.”

Baquet conceded, however, that his decision will probably have negligible influence on the Trump White House. “I can’t control other people using it for their own ends, but I can do something about how we cover it.”

Maybe they will replace it with special characters, like when someone on the Ron Paul Forums uses a swear word.

Ironic that an American Newspaper is censoring free speech?

They might call it the FN phrase, like they do the N word.

It completely blew up in their face.

Imagine Buzzfeed and CNN posting the Pizzagate allegations without commenting on the overall validity in the same way they did "Pissgate". They have become exactly what they criticized.

"have become" is probably the wrong form of the verb in that context. :p
