OBAMACARE NEAR DEATH... (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2017/01/11/senate-begins-obamacare-repeal-process-all-night-voting-marathon/96447956/)

WASHINGTON — After debating seven hours through the night, the Senate voted early Thursday to take the first real step toward repealing Obamacare — a top goal of congressional Republicans and President-elect Donald Trump.
Senators voted 51-48 to approve a budget resolution that Republicans will use as a vehicle to speed through repeal of the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare. House leaders plan to take it up Friday.
Senators began voting on 19 amendments to the resolution about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday before passing the budget measure about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Trump has said he won't repeal it until he has something else ready to replace it with. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-38589929

Trump: Obamacare repeal and replace to go 'simultaneously'

In his first news conference since July, Mr Trump said he would submit a plan to repeal and replace the 2010 law "essentially simultaneously".

Senate Republicans have started a process to repeal parts of the law.

They voted 51-48 overnight to instruct key committees to draft the corresponding legislation.

But there seems little consensus on what would replace Obamacare.

Mr Trump's remarks clash with congressional Republicans' plan to repeal the law, but delay the process to pass legislation on a substitute for up to three years.

The president-elect said he would like to see President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law, also known as Obamacare, repealed and replaced "probably the same day, could be the same hour".

He insisted his administration would have a plan in place as soon as Representative Tom Price, his nominee for Health and Human Services Secretary, is confirmed.

Mr Price's hearings are due to begin next week.

Mr Trump did not offer any details on his vision to replace the healthcare law, but argued it was "imploding" and Republicans would do "a tremendous service" for Democrats by replacing it.

He added his plan would be "far less expensive and far better".

How would he tell that to his supporters.

Congress voted to repeal it how many times in how many years when Obama was in office?

It is beyond ridiculous that they do not have a firm plan already hashed out to get this done. Oh wait - they do! It involves increasing the debt by a historic magnitude!

Yea, a good solution for high debt would be to force all healthy and young people to buy very expensive "insurance" with very high deductibles that most won't be able to actually use. Those who don't buy this insurance should be given a hefty tax penalty.
Let's call this debt reduction plan DGPcare and let's order some pizza to have a thinking party how we can reduce the debt even more.

Hopefully DGP's anger would remain under control over these steps towards undoing of his legacy:

"“We’re going to have insurance for everybody,” Trump said. “There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us.”

People covered under the law “can expect to have great health care. It will be in a much simplified form. Much less expensive and much better.”"
